Re: Where does the hobby go from here?

Target loves to clearance everything, so I don't see it as a sign of impending doom. A purge is actually what the brand needs, so all the TFA and RO items can be cleared out before TLJ, and new SKUs can be used. Action figure and general toy sales aren't what they once were, and the demand for RO re...

Re: Where does the hobby go from here?

Seems to need that a lot of the problem is they are trying to manage too many different scales and gimmicks and it's just too much crap for the retailers to try and keep up with. It's well past time to stop the nonsense, Hasbro. No more micro machines, end the 12" junk, and focus on 3.75"...

Re: Rogue One - Recent Acquisitions

Check your local Target stores, looks like RO wave 3 is making another appearance. It was reported on the Yakface front page, and I can confirm, as I picked up a Bodhi locally as well.

Re: Where does the hobby go from here?

That's true it might be the reality for many, I just refuse to pay double. I'll wait it out - which is what I did for RO wave 3 - I bought some online for MSRP and free shipping, the others I just found at Target this week - so I think there is hope, but you might have to wait months to find what yo...

Re: Where does the hobby go from here?

Perish the thought that TVC 2.0 will start like that because it will be DOA. I honestly think most of the carded completists from this hobby are gone, so Hasbro shouldn't expect repacks to fly of the pegs. This hobby and action figures sales have changed pretty drastically over the years, and Hasbro...

Re: Where does the hobby go from here?

I think Hasbro knows many collectors like SA figures, that's not news to them, its just a balancing act of how much articulation they can include with a basic figure and at what pricepoint. 5 POA was too little for some, and $13 was too expensive for some when it came to SA figures. There is a happy...

Re: Rogue One - Recent Acquisitions

I certainly hope that wave shows up somewhere, along with wave 4. I need Bodhi, but there is no way I'm paying $20 on ebay. Same goes for Fenn Rau, which tends to be double that!

Re: Has distribution gone downhill? Again?

Distribution for waves 1 and 2 of the RO basic figures was superior to TFA, so I have to admit, they improved in that regard. After that, it fell apart as usual - waves 3 and 4 being hard to find. Wave 4 being online only in the US is a downright embarrassing blunder. I'm still not caught up, and it...

Re: Kids growing out of action figures?

Someone should bring this up at the next convention, and see if Hasbro will address it. I feel the decline in purchases from kids might be a reason we're seeing all SW toys going on clearance - even the SA 3.75 and 6 inch figures. Both of those lines are geared more toward collectors, but collector ...

How about alternate universe character roles? Take a character with an established role in the SW universe, a bounty hunter for example, and change them into a Sith lord.

Re: Recent Vintage Kenner Purchases

Haha, it certainly made me excited about picking up vintage figures again! The prices are better than the 80s when these were on retail pegs! Unfortunately they didnt have their blasters. Now I'm going to try to track down another ROTJ favorite - Squidhead. I imagine that one might be difficult to f...

Also picked up one of my favorite aliens as a kid - Ree Yees! The lady selling them was leaving and said - everything is $1.

Re: Recent Vintage Kenner Purchases

I went to a massive flea market today and actually found a vintage Greedo for $1, which I never had as a kid, so I thought it would make a nice addition to my loose collection, especially since its in great condition. I'm planning on tracking down Walrusman and Hammerhead as well to get the memorabl...

Re: Where does the hobby go from here?

From what I can see at stores and online, 5 POA sell rather well, and vanish from pegs quickly when the right assortment gets released. But if you stock your pegs with dozens of cases filled with PZ, Goss, Hux, etc they are going to pegwarm. I don't know if the fault was with TRU for ordering too mu...
