Back in August 2006, Yakface.com launched a new kind of customizing event, called Yakfinites.

Each quarter, we customizers decide on a fan fiction idea for a custom project - we throw some ideas together, then vote on the ideas. The winning idea becomes the official theme for one 3-month quarter.

There are a few basic rules that apply, and have been in place since the inception of Yakfinities.

Rule #1 - Your figure must be made for this contest... old figures may be shown for examples, but don't go into the "prize pool." And you are only entered into the pool if you create a new custom and show it in the dedicated thread before the deadline.

Rule #2 - You can make as many figures as you want, but will only be entered into the prize pool one time each contest.

Rule #3 - You must stay on track. If a contest is to make a Bounty Hunter, you can't make Queen Amidala custom, etc.

Rule #4 - After the end of the monthly contest, three random winners will receive a prize chosen by the Yakface staff. It won't necessarily be the *best* customs that win, it will be completely random.

Rule #5 - Yakface staff members can participate, but are not eligible to win a prize at any time. However, moderators are eligible.

Rule #6 - No custom is too good for this, and no custom is too bad. Have fun with it and enjoy seeing everyone's work and ideas! And feel free to share your thoughts even if you don't participate!

Wait, so the winner is chosen at random? Shouldn't we call it a raffle instead of a contest, for the sake of accuracy?

Yeah, they are selected randomly, so everyone has a chance at winning.

I see what you mean, "contest" isn't exactly what it is. We usually refer to it as a "Customizing Challenge" for the most part.

Does the figure have to be articulated or can it be like a statue on a small base.

Cheers

Articulation is not required, and scale does not matter either.

Thanks mate.

How would you go about suggesting a category? For example id like to see original Sith race customs or maybe bothan race customs since I've only seen one bothan character from a comic multipack. do you take suggestions?

Whenever we are in the "come up with category phase", that's the time to post some ideas. We then take 5-6 of the ideas and put them to a vote... the next time that will be is in March... but I like the idea of a "future themes suggestion thread" - and will start one.
