Finally made something I was happy with after a lot of aborted efforts.

Shichi is a Kyuzo Monk who abhors violence and conflict, but is forced to fight for sport by his cruel masters. The "slave-bracelet" on his forearm is surgically implanted to help ensure his obedience and prevent his escape, while the threat of retaliation against his brethren should he refuse to fight motivates his compliance in the arena.

Shichi (Japanese for 7, I believe, to continue the Seven Samurai homage that inspired Embo and the Kyuzo species) is loosely based on Yang from Final Fantasy 2 for his appearance and attire.

Nice Custom Dan, and I like back story small but good.
I wanted to ask you a question feel free to not want to talk about it, in another forum I found some people in a comp ( you also entered) talking about you and you saying stuff about your surgeries. May I ask what's wrong man?

Thanks Rusty.

Thanks Rusty. About a year and a half ago I had to have surgery to remove an acoustic neuroma/vestibular schwanoma , a small tumor growing on a nerve cluster near my brain stem. The short version is the surgery went well, and aside from complete hearing loss in my right ear and some facial paralysis, I'm pretty much back to normal. Everyone here was super supportive and I had a lot of wonderful comments when I was feeling good enough to check back in (my wife actually read them to me when I was recovering). The most positive thing about the whole thing is that my recovery time gave me a chance to really get into this hobby like I'd always wanted. I don't mean to dwell on it or anything, but it's certainly tied to the hobby very directly for me, and this community in particular really played a big part in supporting me pre and post surgery. :)

I think we're all glad that Dan is doing well - he is a great part of this community. I have to say, you've done a really nice custom for this challenge - that torso works really well and the wrappings look great. I looked at the picture before reading the backstory and its what I imagined for the character.

darth naes, I very much like Etor! The Neimoidian body works very well for Gladitorial armour, and the bloody hammer is a nice touch!

DanOfTheDead, Shichi is fantastic, great backstory and his attire looks perfect for this setting! Is that the Clone Palpatine body? On a side note, I remember reading about your surgery, but I don't think I commented on it, for which I appologise, and I'd just like to say I'm glad you made it through and are feeling better! It wouldn't be the same around here without your fantastic customs!

here is my 3rd entry: BOC from the Dark Forces game series goes into arena combat contests to hone his battle skills.I know his feet are a different color. I ran out of paint so will have to fix later. I sculpted his head, lekku, backpouch, chest straps, chest wrappings, arm band, and forearm wrappings myself.

Just finished my 4th entry. Here he is: a young Jedi Knight Yoda who has been captured and forced into arena combat. This is my favorite custom right now.
