HMMM I had forgotten those guys, they really not said or done anything so that is probably why.

Jimmy nor Randell wasn't in the comic so easy call that Jimmy might be a stand in character for someone else (Billy or arnoald)

Then again we never got Allen and Donna, so who knows.

I bet Jimmy is replacing the role of Billy.

So next week, apparently Daryl gets hurt. Is there more of a preview on that? All I could really see was him riding a horse, some sort of explosion... and maybe his hand as he's struggling... then Merle?

They had an extended version of that sceane during "Hell on Wheels" daryl is riding and the horse gets spooked by a snake, then he falls into the river.

Merle was only seen in the preview, but speculaition is running rampant on the discussion boards I've seen, Everything from he's got sophia (Which explains her missing) to being a halucination by Daryl has been proposed. It's hard to say exactly what might happen, I suppose we just have to watch sunday.

Yeah i'm most excited about Merle, mostly cause I like Micheal Rooker (As an actor, not nessessarly the characters he plays LOL) but I've been wondering what happened to him since last season on the roof. Him not being in the comics is a great curveball to longtime readers, I just hope he ain't a halutionation. The preview kind of makes it out like he might be though.

Either way when Merle does return I think it's goning to put daryl in a tough spot. He seems to have much more of a heart than his older brother and I'm pretty sure no matter what Merle will push the point. Add to that Merle is very racist but Daryl doesn't seem to be which could bring in some really great character conflict.

Outstanding episode last night... wow, everything that happened to Darryl... can't believe how awesome his character is turning out to be. The visions of Merle were well done too, it really showed how Darryl was always under the foot of his big brother, and now he's trying to turn around the type of person he is. It's like he and Shane are going in completely opposite directions, heh. Very well done - I'd say that Darryl is the best part of the show right now, and he's not even in the comic - I almost wonder if he's going to end up replacing either the role of Tyrese or Michonne? And the ear necklace he made... that was damn hilarious how Glenn and Rick reacted, LOL!

And Andrea's eagerness to get in on the "action" almost cost Darryl his life... that was well done, but really good considering how Dale tried to comfort her. That right there will probably be what moves that part of the storyline forward.

I also thought it was pretty well played with the barn - but I do think that Herschel could have been a bit more adament with the group to stay away from the barn. Yeah there's a lock on it but there's always the chance they could get out of there and then all hell breaks loose - which I'm assuming it will.

One bad thing though, apparently there are just two more episodes for this part of the season, and then it will go on hiatus until February... ugh. So that means there just Episode 6 & 7 left this season... spoiler below, hence the small font...

I think I can see where this is going though. My guess is that the group will leave the ranch in Episode 7, and Glenn stays back to be with Maggie. AS the group moves on, Shane will get killed like in the comic - that will be the end of the episode, or it will continue just a few minutes past that with the group discovering the prison. But I am guessing we won't see the prison until the second part of the season.

Oh, and I still can't get over how cool that was with the Well Walker...

Just a note on Daryl, he is going to be in the comic soon, Kirkman is adding him (not sure about Merle though).

I was actually disappointed that merle was just a halucanation. I was hopeing to find out what happened to him and where he's been so he could be a foil to the group. Things are progerssing great IMO. Some have said slow but I think the build is perfect, realistic and the sophia thing is fraying the nerves of everyone pushing the gaps further. Specificly Shane and Rick.

I am with you on your predictions Chewie, I pretty much see it unfolding that way, with one of the big characters popping up at the end of the season (making season 3 the BIGGEST yet, and any comic readers will know where I am going with that prediction).

I HOPE daryl doesn't become a replacement for Tyresse or Michone. Michone has been confirmed by Kirkman to be in the series, just not when. There is a rumor flying around about Tyresse making an appearence (with an actor being named) but not sure about it since nothing offical has been said, however I do hope he shows up soon. He's one of my favorite charcters of all (probably #3 of all the characters in the comic).

Anyone notice Andrea almost made that shot but hasn't had any training on the gun yet-note of future for her I think. I did like how she was "I won't be a victim again" and it ended up embarassing her in the most awefull way, great character development IMO. I think that moment will come up again and again (espeically in light of what is being shown for next week).

Yeah - she did miss that shot without training, and now she's gotten some training from Shane (per last night's episode), and had an encounter with some walkers, she went into kill mode... which was nice to see. Her character is developing nicely... but whoa - her and Shane got it on... I did not see that coming. It's great how Dale seemed to know, and his verbal confrontation with Shane was fantastic... "I know what kind of a man you are..." damn good stuff. You can really see some foreshadowing now of what's coming up, and with Carl too... they are doing an amazing job with this!

I also thought it was very good how Glenn saved Maggie, and how she's now having a change of heart on how they need to deal with the walkers, as well as the affection she showed for him this episode. That was very good.

It almost seems as though Rick is fading into the background as a not-so-essential character, as they have really emphasized on the other characters being developed. I think that's good because they emphasized so much of him in Season 1, it's good to develop these other characters. And I wasn't expecting Lori to tell Rick about her and Shane at this point... whoa! I seem to recall in the comic book she didn't outright tell him like this for a while and he was living in denial. I assume at some point he'll have a mental breakdown like he did in the book.

Can't wait for next week's episode - it looks like **** is going to hit the fan. But then we have to wait a couple months before the series picks back up... I assume they're going to leave the ranch at the end of the next episode.

Well I was up with it until Rick's reaction (Weak to say the least), And andrea and Shane was the most forced situation yet.

This board needs a spoielr tag though, I read up on something the other day that says something surprizing is up for the next ep. Not sure if it's true or not, but sounds interesting at least.

Warning for those not wanting spoied:

Sophia is in the barn, she's a zombie, not sure if that's true but that is what I heard, read a spoiler of eps 6 & 7 and the one for 6 was dead on target, so 7 seems to be logical, but could be BS too I admit.

No way. I just read that spoiler Zedhatch and if they do that it will piss me of. Thats like spitting on a whole story line in the comic book. Simple enough to say I will be pissed if thats the case. Thanks for the small type ! Good to hide that. Was a pain in the ass for me to read..

I think it will piss me off too, Not cause of a split from the comic but-well I suppose we can wait until the show airs and then discuss, but still it's a mind blower in many ways.

Well... you were right! Holy crap!!!

For people who haven't read the comics, I'm sure it's a great twist (my wife and parents thought it was sad, but a huge impact)... I told them that in the books, she was still alive.

Yikes! They really, really are moving things around with that, because what happens in the books, still hasn't happened yet (and those who have read, know exactly what I'm referring to). They really, really set up this latest episode to LOOK like that pivotal event was going to happen. I thought it was... but it didn't. And in a way I'm glad, because that character is adding so much tension to the show. I think they're making a hell of a good call in pushing that event back, because it's always in the back of my mind that it's GOING to happen, but who the hell knows when at this point?

Wow, wow, wow. I think the last 10 minutes of this episode were so feaking amazing. I'm astonished by how well they are adapting this to a television series. And I have to say, I am okay with how they are changing some things - the freaking tension now in the series is so damn high, the characters are so well developed... really, how are they making this so compelling?

Too bad we have to wait until February for more episodes!
