Dear Hasbro

Now that the $100-150 vehicle line has proved itself, how about an accurate Death Star Playset with key rooms etc. I'm sure if this is made collector orientated but with missles and trp doors i'm sure kids would certainly want it too.

Dear Hasbro

With the impending Entertainment Earth Comic Packs Including Deliah Blue and Darth Nihl, i'm curious if the comic pack line had not ended would a Jariah Syn been on the cards to complete the Mynock Crew and if so who would have been your choice to go with him, Jedi Rasi Tuum for the Vs appeal or would you have carried on the Sith pairing and maybe had Maladi or Wyyrlok.. or even Nyna Callixte as Morrigan Corde for the banter between them, Azlyn Rae, Chak and Bantha Rawk would have been brilliant he's a Skywalker!!! Such a shame we won't be getting anymore Legacy comic figures there are so many cool characters, Col Skywalker and Spirit Luke!!!! Can you tell i'm sad and looking for a new hope yet???

FYI: there will be no QnA from us this session. Mainly due to a scheduling/submission oversight on my part and the fact that the schedule has been "off" in regards to receiving our answers back from Hasbro on the predetermined dates for all of 2010. My apologies to our readers. But, I hope that our spy reports and confirmations of unannounced product over the past few weeks makes up for it. 8)

On a related note, with the events of SDCC and CV quickly approaching the QnA will return September 7 with our questions due to them on August 20 (after both SDCC and CV) so I'm sure there will be plenty of questions generated and perhaps answered before then.

I'd say let's try and submit 4 questions next time Jayson - as good faith, Hasbro might respond to them all.

Hasbro,

It seems like every Q&A session, a site sends you a question about playsets. But you always shoot us down with the same answers each time; basically explaining that there's not a demand for it, and that kids don't want them.

How do you know this without actually releasing a good playset? You haven't even released one in the modern line (Mustafar and Geonosis just aren't that good unfortunately, so we hope you don't use those as a measuring stick). You have also indicated that there's no other toy lines with playsets out there (which there are actually exceptions, check out Imaginext for example). But instead of trying to just follow a trend, why not be the leader we know you are and SET the trend? Star Wars isn't like other brands. Your market base is huge - kids and adults LOVE this stuff and we constantly have been begging for something like say, a Death Star playset.

Was there much of a trend for big items before 2008 in the toy aisles before you released the Falcon and the AT-TE (both at the same time!!)? Not really - you took a risk, and it paid off. You made those items just right - there's no reason to think that you can't do something similar to this with playsets. All one has to do is talk to fans (and kids) and see they do want this sort of thing. Check out the custom Death Star playset and numerous other ones by customizer Owen D. at http://www.owenscustoms.com if you haven't done so - now THAT is what we're talking about.

Set the trend Hasbro - you've been doing it now with "The Big One" vehicles - you can do it with playsets just the same if you apply the concepts of movie realism and don't go overboard with play features that take away from the aethetics.

You can do it. This is the number one toy license in the boys toy section everywhere. Be all that you can be!

Hasbro, can you please explain to collectors why you didn't use either the B.A.D. protocol droid sculpt OR the new K-3PO sculpt for the vintage C-3PO? This would have been cheaper than creating a new sculpt for you, plus those are both far better looking figures. This is very frustrating for someone who has been collecting this line since 1995... why don't we have a definitive C-3PO yet?

I vote for the question in the post above

and perhaps add that the R2 could have been repainted B.A.D. parts as well ?

Dear, Hasbro.

I'm sure many long time fans were curious how prequel characters would look on vintage style cardbacks. Now that we have seen some examples, I have a suggestion for future (and I am wishing for an extremely long run) releases in the vintage line. Please utilize still images from the prequel films as opposed to publicity shots for the cardbacks. Darth Sidious, Clone Trooper, and MagnaGuard droid all have cardback images with an obvious "photoshoped" look. As such, they just don't seem to capture the nostalgia of the vintage line. However, you guys knocked it out of the park with General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and the Sandtrooper. The cardback images for Dak Ralter and Echo Base Han were also spot on. That grainy look to the cardback images makes a huge difference. That is how new/prequel characters should be done on vintage cardbacks. Are the images used completely up to Hasbro or does Lucasfilm decide?
Thanks!

Dear Hasbro. Last year we saw the release of Corran Horn in the B.A.D multi-packs. How big is the chance that we will get to see other New Jedi Order Jedi made into figures? It would be awesome to get Kam Solusar or a Jedi robes version of Corran Horn.

Dear Hasbro, with the B.A.D. line over with as well as the comic packs there is a slim chance that we as fans will get to see the release of many beloved characters. Dash Rendar and Guri were top candidates for realization as voted for by fans. With these two lines gone is it likely that we will get to see these two characters? And had anyone at Hasbro considered that Leebo would have been an excellent build a droid option for an EU wave had the line continued?

Dear Hasbro,

Can you provide an update on the future of the funeral pyre Darth Vader? Will there also be one for Qui-Gon Jinn? Thanks.

Dear Hasbro,

Now we have new product, and I am a little miffed. The figures in the blue/black packaging contain accessories, stands, dice, pack-in weapons and game cards. That's a lot of stuff.

The Vintage Collection figures have less packaging and limited accessories due to the style of the bubbles.

So, WHY are ALL the retailers charging us MORE for the Vintage Collection figures? Do you honestly think this is a fair practice? PLEASE provide some kind of insight, and don't give the "We are not responsible or in control of what the retailers charge" excuse.

1) Dear Hasbro, the V-Torrent starfighter is surely one of the finest vehicles you ever produced but it came and went pretty quickly, and without much needed battle damage. Can we expect to see it re-issued with the battle damage any time soon?

2) Dear Hasbro, I really miss the 3" titanium line, especially since you never got around to making the episode II-style republic cruiser. Is there any chance we might see this line resurrected?

3) AOTC and TPM waves are exceedingly rare and when they do come around, once per year if we're lucky, we're both delighted to see the new figures but also very disappointed at the ones you skipped since we know it'll be such a long time before there's a possibility of some figures we want getting made. Are there any plans of maybe stepping it up for these two movies? For instance the Outlander Nightclub has not seen a single new figure since the release of AOTC.

Dear Hasbro,

The past few years one of the coolest things at Toy Fair/SDCC has been the announcements of a new "Big One" - so far we've had the Falcon, AT-TE, Turbo Tank and the AT-AT. Each of these are fantastic achievements on your part and have become cornerstones of our collections. Speaking for myself, these things have really kept my interest in the hobby high. If not for them, I would be buying a lot less figures these days.

Looking ahead, what are your plans for future "Big One" offerings? Do you feel there are more possibilities with new items? If so, would you be leaning at another new vehicle or two, or would you finally explore the possibilty of a big collector and kid friendly playset (Imaginext playsets are big and a hit with the kids, hint hint)?

By now we would think you would have something in the design phase if there is going to be a 2011 "Big One" offering. Can you share any insight at all, or at least throw us a bone so we can speculate and argue amongst ourselves? :)

Thanks!
