My Target's pretty much a non-event at the moment.

you guys seem surprise at finding this wave. out here in the west coast I have come across this wave multiple times over the last 2 weeks at target and walmart. walmart getting 3-4 cases and target getting 1 case only. this shoulddn't be a surprise. hasbro has a ton of vintage sitting in their warehouses waiting to get out.

Nice to see you are having luck in your area with these. Most of us are not (hence the higher prices for Malgus/Imperial Navy Commander on ebay). The only time most of us saw these was in very limited numbers late last summer at TRU.

Hasbro's pipeline has certainly been backed up due to all the mishandling of Waves 1 and 2 - it doesn't surprise me to see more of the later waves hit, but with the "Greatest Hits" assortments supposed to be hitting around how, it does seem as though things are going to still be backed up for a while if Wave 3 is going to start showing up at more retailers now.

Personally, I expected this wave to maybe start showing up at discounters more than at Target/Wal-Mart because apparently Hasbro has tons of the "Greatest Hits" assortments still due.

A lot of us are still waiting on cases of Wave 9 (Ponda Baba) to surface at one or more discount chains....forget about anything in 2012. :D There have to be a plethora of Wave 9 assortments in warehouses and distribution centers collecting dust and just waiting to ship to one store or another, and you see more excitement and love for the three (then) new figures in that wave than you do the characters in many 2012 waves.

For those that are finding the Malgus/INC wave, are you also seeing the TPM figures? I ask because if the cases are coming through without TPM figures, then that could be a blessing. Although I'd really like to find more INCs, I'm really afraid to find any of those cases because the TPM figures have really dried up around here, except for one store chain, and I really don't want to see any more TVC TPM figs filling up the pegs.

As far as I know, the only case assortments of Malgus that exist also contain TPM carry-forwards. I don't think a revision was ever made and shipped that omitted TPM characters. If people are finding Malgus and his wavemates then there'll also be at least a couple of Episode I characters there.

Thanks for the info on the case mates.

I wondered because it seems for EE Hasbro opened a bunch of TCW cases and repacked them, so I was wondering if Hasbro had done the same thing with the TVC stuff because those TPM repacks were a big problem in 2012.

I'm also wondering when the best of cases are going to hit and how many Hasbro has left of those cases. I know Easter has become a second Christmas for a lot of people and with the best of cases not having hit and Easter being just around the corner, I don't know if they'll be a lot of parental interest after Easter. Maybe Hasbro is negotiating a deal to sell the best of cases at a cheaper price point to get rid of them.

Wave 5 contains Malgus as a carry forward and is void of TPM figures.

1x VC93 Darth Vader (Star Wars)
1x VC95 Luke Skywalker (Hoth, Empire Strikes Back)
1x VC96 Darth Malgus (The Old Republic, Expanded Universe)

1x Grand Moff Tarkin (Star Wars)
1x Nikto (Return of the Jedi)
1x Starkiller (Vader's Apprentice)
1x Shae Vizla (The Old Republic, Expanded Universe)
1x VC87 Luke Skywalker (Return of the Jedi, Jedi Origin)

Thanks for clearing that up. A friend from another site reminded me that Malgus shipped in two or three different assortments, but not until after I posted that.

Those TPM carry forwards muck everything up, including memories. Bleccch.

Swung by TJ Maxx again today to see what I could find. I came across more clearance craziness. On a shelving unit marked clearance (same one I found the Obi Wan on) were Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracer. Both had a red $12 clearance sticker. On the shelving unit that contains the regular priced merchandise was an Anakin's Podracer and a Sith Infiltrator. Both were marked $16.99 I passed on the podracers but thought I would share this info with everyone. If you are looking for the Discover the Force vehicles for cheap, try TJ Maxx.

Not bad! Congrats!

At $12 even I'd buy the Podracer repack. They should have sold for no more than $20.99 to begin with....new.

I personally wouldn't even take the podracers for free. I got rid of my old ones a few years ago. I can honestly say that I hate podracers, and the sheer concept of them annoys me... 8)

Anyways, I came across some more stuff at TJ Maxx too yesterday - several more vehicles (all ATT's at this particular store) and a handful of the TPM Jedi Duel battle packs.

vehicles - $16.99
battle packs - $11.99

Facebook reader Adam V. also reports that Dewbacks are showing up at Ross for $13.99 each... funny seeing the Wal-Mart sticker on them at Ross.

I don't care what some say, that Naboo Battle Pack is solid. For minimal articulation figures some of us would steer into the middle of a tornado to avoid they're magnificently sculpted.

If the heads on these figures had been used on their Vintage TPM counterparts....ah, to dream.
