Reference Pics Thread

Postby Straxus » Mon Jan 22, 2007 9:16 am

Hey everyone!
I am looking for some good reference pics of both the CZ-3 droids (seen in sandcrawler and mos eisely, usually white colored with vague protocal droid shape) and the RA-7 droids (also known as Death Star Droid)
I need pics that show the leg details and back veiws of said droids.
I am feeling inspired to give a sculpt of those a try in the near future.

EDIT - Consider this now the official reference pics thread!

Thanks for the pics!
Wow the RA-7 has less detail on the arms and legs than I origionaly expected... kinda disappointing.
I know the RA-7 has similar back details as 3PO units, but curious what the back of the CZ-3s looks like.

Pickintheblues over at RS had a CZ-3 that looked absolutely amazing! Unfortunately I dont think he included a back veiw either...LOL

I wish they had the costume/props of the two droids at our local OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), as they had a star wars exibit. My landlord payed my way to go and unfortunately for me I didnt have a functional camera....(that was the worst part)
They had 3PO, R2, FX7 and 2-1B. (among many other costumes/props)
(sadly no R5... another disapointment for me)

RickyUK made a great custom CZ droid that I bought from him about two years ago... I'll see if I can get some pics of it soon, it might help you for reference.

LOL, I've had that happen many times... and the new CZ droid that is coming out is going to be awesome I think.

I forgot to take pics of the custom CZ droid that I acquired, but will still try and do so.

Was RickyUK, the one who sculpted those custom Republic Commandos that I have seen floating arround the internet? I know Glassman has a set of them. He mentioned who sculpted them once but cant remember where the post is regarding that.

Yep - it was Ricky UK that you refer to...

Here's the CZ droid he made

And scratch build commandos well before Hasbro ever made theirs...

I had lost track of this thread! Those are the ones I remember seeing elsewhere. great stuff! I love that CZ-3!

Well my new request (at cut and paste from elsewhere...)

I was wondering if anyone has any pics or scans of commander Faie as he appeared in the Republic comics in the Star Wars Republic: The Siege of Saleucami
I am NOT looking for him in Kashyyk Barc trooper armor or the Lucas Arts pics. I specificly need images of him in the "engineer" armor with blue hood from the comic for a custom I need to make. (I am having difficulty locating the comics in questions...)
All I have found is the following pic from those comics, but it is way too small... Image
Thanks in advance!

Would the photo from the Art of RotS do? I think it was the same armour.

Does anyone have a detailed pic of a Juggernaut's (the A6) wheel? And possibly the diameter? I'm thinking about 2.5 times the height of a clone, so 15-16 ft.?

Hope the pictures help. Oh! And I have a bit of comedy for this subject..

"Day 17: Forward drive shaft on Juggernaut-11 has snapped. Requesting replacement drive shaft."
"Day 22: Resubmitting request for replacement drive shaft."
"Day 38: Drive shaft still has not arrived. Please advise."
"Day 50: Awaiting drive shaft."
"Day 123: Awaiting drive shaft."
