Oh definitely. I didn't even know new SW comics existed until he started doing that Rohlan figure; I credit him, Glassman, Bantha5, RickyUK (conceptUK?), JMB, Owen D, and AE77 for inspiring me to get started sculpting. I've studied every one of their customs for hours.
After over a week of rub-proofing the joints and casting, accessorizing, and painting a new belt/holster, this guy is finally done. <br>
My custom Mandalorian from the Knights of the Old Republic comics, loosely based on this pic:
I made a custom base for more dynamic poses. Kinda looks like he stepped in a big pile of Wookiee Dookiee.
Both will go up for sale soon. If you're interested, the site name rhymes with QueeQuay.
This is easily one of my favorite custom figures I've seen on the boards here, or anywhere else for that matter... it really captures a fresh look for Mandalorians rather than the typical Fett helmet (I am so burnt out on that helmet, lol).
At the same time it has a very Hasbro quality to it as well, you really can't tell that it's even a custom actually... it looks more like a VOTC version of a KOTOR character... which is very impressive.
Everything about this custom looks well, perfect. The same can pretty much be said about the guy with the blue helmet too.
Jedi_Co-Loc - the site I'm selling it on was founded by Pierre Omidyar, and the site name rhymes with BeeBay. Due to international trade restrictions, I can't be more specific in this No Fly Zone.
Marev - the base is indeed Bespin Luke! I need more of them, because they're ideal for customizing Mandalorians.
Dan - Yeah I considered making him more flamboyant, but the comic book guys aren't really bright until later in the series - a choice I don't really like. Gear-wise, the canvas strapping was provided by Blasterman, as was the blaster rifle. The pouches are my own sculpt, as is the armor and helmet. The backpack is a kitbash combined with some aluminum tubing, and the hoses are completely removable from the pack and the helmet.
Chewie - high praise indeed. I'm glad you like them, considering when I paint I try and give them a "dirty Chewie" paintjob.
