i was just thinking that it may be cool to have a thread to discuss what everyone has on there workbench right now....how it coming and anything that holding you or ideas and techniques....i believe we had a thread like this sometime ago...but im not sure what happen to it.....

ive actualy got a few projects, as usual, going right now....

-the one closest to being complete is a "frog" type creature that is a mechanic or shop worker of some sort.....the only thing i have left to do is attatch the head.

-a master and padawan set....the master has a head that just needs to be painted and i have yet to choose a spieces for the padawans head and hands...other wise they are complete also....

-2 more jedi that are primed and in pieces....

-and finaly a republic commando who is primed and in pieces....

those are the four that are actualy in progress....i have about 20 more figures all pieced together but the need to be primed and have accessories added colors chosen etc....i think i always have so many incomplete projects because half of the fun of customizing for me is coming up with an idea, which i usualy do on the fly, and finding the parts to make the figures....they nearly always evolve along the way into somthing completley diffrent that what i originaly had in mind.....but i have fun with it.

so what do you guys have going? :)

Well, I've got four commissions on deck at the moment. I'm "fairly certain" they'll be widely seen once I finish them up and get them to their new home, so I'm hesitant to post pics just yet. I will say that the three I've worked on already have all gone together very quickly and easily overall, despite being parts-list nightmares! I'm borrowing the "jedistyle style" of painting and am so far very pleased with how well I've been able to make my figures look! Now, they are nowhere NEAR being mistaken for a jedistyle custom!! I *am* taking lots of pics - partly to confer with their patron over looks and poseability and partly so I can SHOW OFF later!!

I also have molds curing for four heads, two are related to the commissions. After I finish up the commissioned pieces, I may be taking a stab at a swoop and rider. After that... not sure yet. Lots of plans, just not sure which ones have higher priorities.

I believe we had a similar thread in the past. Never hurts to start another one, I like this kind of topic.

Right now, my main focus is a commission Phase I Utapau Shadow Trooper. Most likely totally not cannon in the SW universe, but my client and I disucessed it and agreed on some sort of pre-ROTS Shadowtrooper. It's painted and sealed, only need to finish the accessories and such. => DONE

These types of threads also make me realize again, I'm certainly not the fastest customizer around. I'm STILL working on my A-Wing and crashed TIE Dio, which have recently celebrated their one-year WIP status

I'm also working on a five speeder bike chase scene, an idea I got upon seeing one made with several AMT/ERTL Speeder Bike models at Starshipmodeler. For this I've been revamping the bikes pretty seriously, with accurate steering vanes, seats, handle bars, pedals, etc.

I've got a self custom nearly complete. Only need to apply the Cavalera Conspiracy logo on my T-shirt and add a satchel. => DONE

I started with a Royal Guard, based on the conceptual sketches in the TFU sourcebook. Hope I can get the soft goods right.

I missed the deadline for the TEAMS Yakfinities, but I'm still working on those.

Started work on a gladiator droid for the summer project and am pondering what to make for this July/Augusts' Yakfinities.

That's it, I guess. Next week I have the whole week off, kids are taken care of on three days, g/f's at work and if I can speed through some of the maintenance chores I have planned, I can spend some serious time on my WIPs

docoutlands - sounds like you got some good projects going.....glad that you've got some ideas from my painting technique. you mentioned having some sculpts curing for heads, are you doing some new spieces or some new versions of existing spieces? im hit and miss with sculpting.....im taking a stab at it for the gladiators project though, so we will see how it goes....swoop bikes and riders are very cool...i did one last year with a cerean rider....ive always wanted to do a whole swoop gang, i even bought several speeder bikes for the project, but as with so many other things is got side steped.....well i hope to see some of your projects and your commissions posted soon!

incom - sounds like you have alot going also......a phase 1 shaddow clone trooper sounds interesting, im sure ita possibility of being cannon, arcs came in shaddow armor which was phase 1 so im sure that there could have been standard trooper shaddow units.
i remeber your crashed dio and silver a-wing.....a year in wip....i do that sometimes also...
the speeder bike chase scene sounds amazing....i think i remeber you mentioning that also, i hope you find some spare time to get some work done on this project.
self customs are very cool, chewie did a good one recently. you were doing a rebel soldier team for the past yakfinities right?
im starting work on my first gladiators entry also....sounds like you got alot of great projects going and hopefully we will get to see some of them soon!

i finished my frog mechanic custom and he is posted...theres 1 down. :) i knocked out 1 of the jedi i primed and he has been posted also.....i also posted a couple customs i had finished recently that just needed a little tweaking....so 4 customs total have been finished this week. not to shabby, a little bit of progress made in the projects pile!

This is a great idea for a thread so thanks for starting this one. I have many things in progress right now and will reply later in more detail when I can make time. I would like to add that we need pics to go along with your post so we can see how these customs are coming along. I'll be back soon...with a pic or three..

I agree and took a couple of pics.

Old Republic Jedi for the Yakfinities:
Image

SA Republic Commando (found this one in a cup while cleaning up my room  ):
Image

SA Royal Guard based on the conceptual drawings in the TFU Sourcebook. Need to make crimson red soft goods, but I can't find the fabric I bought some time ago
Image

Speeder Bike Chase diorama modified all five speeders (two of 'em shown). Only need to sculpt the blanket on the back.
Image Image

TFU Gand Bounty Hunter very early wip, only have the head and body. Need to sculpt a Gand like torso. This is one of the bounty hunters in the conept pic of Vader and the hunters in the TFU sourcebook.
Image

The A-Wing and TIE dio haven't gotten any attention since the last update, I'm afraid

So, your turn for some snapshots, guys :D

Way to go man, I love the WIP pics, thanks. Some interesting customs on the bench and i can't wait to see your Old Republic entry. That is one cool looking character you are developing.

Now we need pics from everyone else...

I was waiting to clean up a bit but decided to show you how messy I get picking through fodder. These are the leftovers/parts that didn't work from my last 4 customs. Who has time to clean up when you want to move on to the next figure?

Here is the next figure...just about done.

Now guess what I made the shoulder gauntlets from...

Cool thread!

Yesterday I was setting up a Prequel shelf and found a Mos Espa building thingy I'd made a while back. But since I don't collect much from the Prequels, the Mos Espa scene looked kinda bare (it was pretty much Watto, the creature with the frog stand, and some pit droids). So I did some customizing (the first I've done in a while) and made a handful of citizens. I'm hoping to do a few more today, but it was very fun to pull out the fodder boxes again. I'll post some pics soon. :)

Well, I had this week off to do some chores in and around our house, cleaning up my SW room amongst other things. My workbench pretty much looked like yours, with WIPs, parts, paint bottles, tissues, brushes and lots of Dremel residue all over the place. I decided to roll up my sleeves and lock myself up in there, with a big can of coffee. Now it's an ocean of orderly tranquility :D I'll take a pic tomorrow to show you how it looks now

Man I can't pull anything over on you...I tried the real finger nails first but that didn't work so I went with fake ones.
