Oh, man...I am a sucker for Firefly customs (and it seems we get soooo few of them). Excellent group shot of the Serenity crew!

Thanks a bunch, JediMerc.

Escaping from Sullust as a refugee, Bobro Squnn fled to Bespin with dreams of becoming a famous hairdresser. After gradually building up an expansive clientele on Tibannopolis, Bobro aims to take his business to the wider community on Cloud City figuring that both the Imperial garrison and the high-rollers are in more need of grooming than the gas miners who have been his main customers until now.

Recipe:

* ROTS Obi-Wan (modified, for the entire body sans head)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Rotting Flesh", "Kommando Khaki", "Chaos Black", "Red Gore", "Skull White")

Most avid Star Wars collectors are aware of the rarity of Vlix Oncard who was scheduled to be released in the second year of Kenner's vintage Droids line of action figures, but who ended up only being available in Brazil three years after the line ended. Given that a) the likelihood of my ever obtaining a vintage Vlix is small and 2) that the likelihood of Hasbro ever releasing a modern incarnation of the character is even smaller, I thought that I would put my own together.

Image

Recipe:

* Vintage Collection Darth Vader (modified, for the entire body, sans head and forearms)
* POTF2 Luke Skywalker (modified, for the forearms and hands)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Space Wolves Grey", "Ultra Marines Blue", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Liche Purple", "Red Gore", "Mithril Silver")

I elaborated a little on the look of the character, using some screen shots from the TV show for reference as much as the vintage figure - who knew that they would be inconsistent to one another? Looking at him as I pen this, I kinda sorta wish I had bulked up his thighs a little more to match his bulging belly.

Thanks heaps, drod26 and JediMerc. I am a little surprised that more people haven't tried making their own version of Vlix given it is probably easier (and cheaper) to make one than to get a real vintage version of him.

Next up is Senator Malé-Dee as seen in one of the deleted scenes from Revenge Of The Sith:

Image

Recipe:

* Dragonball Evolution Yamcha (modified, for the head)
* GI Joe Resolute Storm Shadow (for the entire body, sans head)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Dark Flesh", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Blood Red", "Grave Yard Earth", "Scorched Brown")

Without a whole lot of reference material, I had to take my best guess as to how his costume fell on his body based upon how a real-world monk might wear their robe. It might not be entirely accurate, but it is the best that I can make out that the character wore in his one deleted scene from the DVD release and the scant few, generally low resolution, reference pictures floating around.

Thanks heaps, drod26.

For something a little different, here is Lulu Cheesewright, steampunk Lady of mystery.

Recipe:

* Clone Wars Commander Cody (heavily modified, for the entire body sans head and hands)
* GI Joe Rise Of Cobra Baroness (modified, for the head and left hand)
* Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker (modified, for the right hand)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Elf Flesh", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Blood Red", "Burnished Gold", "Mithril Silver")

This figure started life wanting to be Lady Mechanika, but the choice of colours for the costume and the slightly smirking face took her in another direction that felt like a bridge too far with trying to reconcile back to Joe Benitez' Aspen Comics character. Perhaps I need to make a dieselpunk version of the character next...

Raised on the Gungan colony on Ohma-D'un, Broof Chowels became a freighter pilot, ferrying supplies between his home and Naboo. While he loves his job, he secretly desires to become a member of the famous Naboo Royal Space Fighter Corps.

Recipe:

* Dragonball Evolution Fulum (modified, for the entire body, sans head and hands)
* Austwide Toys "Destroyer Series" Zombie (modified, for the hands)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Vermin Brown", "Desert Yellow", "Golden Yellow", "Codex Grey", "Chaos Black", "Skull White" and "Blood Red" mixture)

Another experiment in seeing if I can sculpt heads for Star Wars universe species', this guy came out significantly different to what I was originally planning for... but in a good way. There is a smirk on the character's face which is only visible from certain angles that is playful and fits in with no doubt how a lot of people think of Gungans.

Dipping back into the obscure character well, here is Ellé, one of Padmé's handmaidens from Revenge Of The Sith who was deleted out of the film:

Image

Recipe:

* GI Joe ROC Cover Girl (modified, for the head)
* Episode I Darth Maul (modified, for the entire body sans head and hands)
* POTF2 Lyn Me (for the hands)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Dark Flesh", "Skull White", "Chaos Black", "Blood Red")

With a very distinct lack of reference pictures, I assumed that Ellé's costume was the same as the much better documented Moteé's costume, with pink shirt and long maroon dress along with the hooded shawl. This latter piece is missing much of the detailing in the actual costume but there is a limit to what can be done in 3.75 scale!

Returning to Eternia, here is the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, Teela Na:

Image

Recipe:

* Marvel Universe Spider-Woman (modified, for the entire body sans head)
* SlayerDesignStudio "FemaleHead-19 Madam Swan"
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Elf Flesh", "Skull White", "Chaos Black", "Golden Yellow", "Vomit Brown", "Ultramarines Blue")

I had to take some liberties with the costume due to the scale, with the colour of the falcon wings being a cross between that seen in the classic TV show and the recent Mattel MOTU Classics figure. Being felt, there is enough give in the wings so as to allow her almost the entire range of movement in her arms.
