Re: Wet weather Director Krennic p50 / Index p1

Postby mousedroidhoojib » Sat Nov 25, 2017 8:19 pm

Thanks so much for saying, JawaKing, ghostskull18 and Chewie. I've been struggling for time a little in the last month or so leading me to not put in quite as much effort into the last few customs as I normally would. I hope that the loss of quality hasn't been too noticable.

JawaKing, Power Team Elite figures aka World Peacekeepers (http://www.mctoy.com.hk/index.php/i/toyseries/2), come in a range of scales including 1:18 and 1:6. They are fully articulated, come with a wide range of accessories and are very solid toys... plus they are remarkably cheap. I picked up a range of these from BBTS a few years ago and with them now having hit retail here in Australia, I grabbed a bunch more.

As a scale comparison from camera left to right, a Navy Seal World Peacekeeper, a Lanard Corps figure, TVC Ahsoka, a Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. male blank, a Chap Mei True Heroes Paratrooper, a Blanx Alpha blank:

While on missions to wet environs such as Eadu, Director Orson Krennic dons his Imperial officer's cap and a wet weather coat over his regular uniform.

That's cool, and I loved that look for Krennic in the movie.

Re: Garm Bel Iblis p50 / Index p1

Postby mousedroidhoojib » Sat Dec 02, 2017 11:21 pm

Thanks heaps, Chewie. I do hope that Hasbro eventually go back and revisit Rogue One characters as there is so much untapped potential in that movie.

The Senator from Corellia, Garm Bel Iblis invoked the Contemplanys Hermi clause of the Republic constitution in order to keep his homeworld out of the Clone Wars. The declaration of Empire by Palpatine saw him intimately involved in the creation of the Rebellion, however the destruction of Alderaan and a falling out with Mon Mothma saw him withdraw and conduct his own seperate guerilla campaign. With a new threat from the Empire rising, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian attempted to bring him back into the fray.

Nice take on the Iblis! There's a lot of detail that you captured. Krennic is also very well done!

Thanks heaps, JawaKing.

Various early concept art pieces for the character who eventually became PROXY in the game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed showed a droid shell with a humanoid skeleton - a Corpse Droid - showcasing either a skull or a brainstem in a helmet.

* Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S Skeleton Warrior
* Saga Collection C-3PO with Battle Droid head (for the legs)
* Clone Wars IG-86 (for the torso, used for the groin)
* Dark Knight Rises Quick-Tek Batman (for the forearms)
* DC Universe Classics Darkseid's communicator
* Vintage Collection General Grievous (for the torso armour)
* Citadel "Bleached Bone", "Chaos Black", "Boltgun Metal", "Mithril Silver" paints

Thanks so much as always, Chewie. It is always a constant source of amusement for me that the figures that I spend the least amount of time on are the ones that are best liked!

A group of Lanai living on Temple Island on Ahch-To, the Caretakers oversaw the upkeep of the First Jedi Temple and took a particular interest in looking after the Last Jedi, Master Luke Skywalker.

Re: Concept StarFortress Bomber Pilot p50 / Index p1

Thanks heaps, Chewie. There are some very interesting designs in The Last Jedi which will no doubt be ignored by Hasbro but provide much inspiration for customisers in the near future.

Concept art for the pilots of what became the MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 Resistance Bomber show a yellowed version of the standard X-Wing Pilot flight suit with an enclosed helmet and breath mask, additional pouches and pockets on the life jacket and multiple leg harnesses.

* Chap Mei TrueHeroes Paratrooper (for the head)

Re: Vintage style Leia Hoth soldier p50 / Index p1

Postby mousedroidhoojib » Fri Dec 29, 2017 2:39 am

Thanks so much, Chewie.

Behind the scenes shots from the filming of The Empire Strikes Back show Princess Leia dressed in the same fatigues as a regular Hoth Rebel Soldier. While I've previously put together both a 6" scale and a fully articulated 3.75" scale version of our princess in the costume in 2014 and 2012 respectively, for something a little different, I thought that I would put together a Kenner vintage style version, including having her braids falling out of her headwear.

Image

Recipe:

* my own cast of ReAction Leeloo (Straps costume)'s torso
* my own cast of vintage Leia (Hoth Outfit)'s head and arms
* my own cast of vintage Luke Skywalker (Hoth Battle Gear)'s legs
* some modelling clay
* Citadel "Elf Flesh", "Bleached Bone", "Scorched Brown", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Fortress Grey" paints

And for a bit of fun, a vintage style cardback to accompany the figure:

Too frail to attend the Canto Bight Casino in person, Baroness Wayulia Tagge-Simoni projects a holographic visage of a younger woman from a synthskin covered droid.

Recipe:

* my own cast of Power Of The Jedi Shmi Skywalker's head
* my own cast of ReAction Buffy Summers' torso and arms
* my own cast of ReAction Leeloo (Straps costume)'s legs
* some material
* Citadel "Blue Ink", "Elf Flesh", "Mithril Silver" paints

Mousedroid,

I love this custom. The figure is very well executed. Great use of soft goods and casted parts. But the idea is the most creative and I think really cool thing.

I could see this happening.

Thanks so much for saying, UKHistory.

One of the galaxy's most renowned liquor traders, Derla Pidys attracted the attentions of the raconteur Snook Uccorfay whilst on a visit to the casino at Canto Bight.
