Re: Wookie-Balls custom figures "updated with SOTE Guri"

Postby WookieBalls » Tue Mar 13, 2012 9:01 am

Hey all I managed to get to play with my paints for the first time in about a week!!

Here is my version of Guri from SOTE based on the Greg Hildebrandt painting below

Image

She still needs some minor work in sculpting the sides of the skirt...

And here she is with Dash! I've always found this GH version of Guri to be ,ahem, more appealing than the 'jumpsuit' version

All the best

that is a great set of sote figures you have put together.....guri looks great, especially standing with your rendition of dash rendar. i think my favorite of your set is the swoop rider though, he looks great, very grity like he swooped right out of a comic, very well done.

cool idea and execution on the centurions as well, i used to have those toys when i was young as well, i had forgotten all about them :D , but i remember the blue on being my favorite. good work!

Very awesome Guri. Makes me want to reattempt and employ some of your ideas. Thank you for sharing your stuff

Man, your shadows line looks great. I've never thought to hollow out that shadow chewy and use the armor.

Very nice work - when paired up there with Dash Rendar, she looks even better...

If Hasbro ever brings back comic packs, that would be a nice duo for Hasbro to try and tackle... and Leebo too with another character.

Re: Wookie-Balls custom figures "updated with TOR entry"

Postby WookieBalls » Mon Apr 16, 2012 12:39 pm

Hey folks - here's my three figures for the MAS TOR tribute contest... I posted them in the contest thread this morning - but here they are again in my own thread. More pics, recipies available if requested :)

Here are my three figures for the competition. They are all based on actual toons that my wife and I play in the SWTOR game. My wife Vicky has been playing since beta and I have been on there from the launch! The evolution theme in my groups is represented by the 'level' the figures are supposed to show...

First up is the Gunslinger Nu'Anna-Shan. A female cyborg. Nu'Anna is my secondary toon and is shown here to represent a lower level character...

 Image

Hudson is my wife's main character. He is a Trooper Commando class Healer. I've shown him here is armour meant to represent him as a mid level avatar.

Image

An here is my third entry Jedi General T'aaylorr. He is a Jedi Guardian / Tank. This guy is my primary character and is currently about level 47 (out of 50) I've depicted him in a sort of end game armour...

Image

Here are a few group shots of all three figures. I really enjoyed putting these guys together - a great reminder of hours spent in gaming and more importantly as part of a tribute to MAS.

Thanks for looking,

Good to see you here as well, Ray. You're off to a flying start with a great variety in characters.

I really like what you did with both Lukes and your latest trio of TOR characters.

I'm desperately searching a jacket like you have on ms. Shan. Could you tell me which figure that's from? Seems like a perfect fit for a female figure.

EDIT: wait a minute, it's not a removable jacket, is it? :(

Doesn't look removable... but for some reason I can't place what torso it is.

On any note, awesome customs - some very creative juices went into these and paid off extremely well. Mike would have definitely been blown away by these.

Hi Incom Chewie and Stroebel83!!

First off thank you for the kind feedback - I had a real blast making the figures to enter this contest - although they did steal TOR playing time away from me!! :)

Stroebel is correct!! Nu'Anna is made from a Juno Eclipse (torso and legs) with Bultar Swan arms, belt and shin guards (shaved off the figure.) the head is from a MU Mary Jane.

Thanks again

Ray
