Niktom's Piktoms - New pics added 6-9-09

Postby Niktom » Wed May 07, 2008 8:21 pm

Here lately I've been playing around more in Photoshop trying to learn some new tricks as well as honing my photography and special effect skills. Some of you may recognizes a number of these from my website or RS but I wanted to start a place to show them off and get some good criticisms and pointers.

Untitled Fett 1

Untitled Fett 2 - One day I'm going to put flames in this one for the backpack.

"Purple Pride" - In addition to the desaturation and readdition of the purple I gave it a light sipha hue along with a film grain filter.

How did you suspend the Fett and Ewoks?

From the NEW Simpsons Ride:
Homer: Wow! We're the first people to ever ride this baby. We're like that space guy, that did that moon thing.
Lisa: Neil Armstrong?
Homer: No. Chewbacca! RARRRGGGH!

Fishing line... of course it takes a little photoshoping to remove it but it's the easiest thing I've found so far.

I think this is the original of the Ewok one...

This is of course an alternate view of Fett....

I pose the figure first and decide the angle I want to shoot. Based on that I will tie the fishing line on trying to use joints or places where part of the figure can help disguise the line a bit. Shoot then photoshop.

Cool shots and shop effects, Niktom. Yeah, the sepia/bw pics with a little green and red in them are great aren't they?

Here's a pic of my lil' girl with that red in b/w effect:

Fishing lines are the oldest trick in the book, but as is the case with most oldest tricks, they work best 8) Nice work on the Ewok and Fett!

For "Receiving End" I'd focus on the lightning, instead of Palps. I'd direct my vision on what's coming at me, if it were me  You could then add a nice little yellow glow to Palps' eyes

I've been working on an Endor setup for a future video and here are a few pics I shot trying it out. Still have some work to do and stuff to add but I think it might turn out ok.

WOW your photography skills are amazing Niktom, i love that Ewok doing a dive on the Scout so funny!
If i wanted figures like Rebels and Legends series i'd build a time machine. Even if i did want them, i'd probably still need a time machine..

Niktom, as I'm getting a bit more familliar with these forums, I can only conclude that you are one of the top creative forces in the Star Wars Fan world.

On a personal level your imagination, photography and creativity has inspired me to join in the fun and for that I am extremely greatful.

This post is another example of your fine and insprational creativity.

Great stuff here. I like all of your pictures, but I think I like that picture of Vader the best.
