does the 327 trooper in the Gelagrub pack come with a rifle or any better accessories or is it just what you see?

I got both of these recently. The gelagrub my wife ordered for me online and the Endor set I picked up at a Target in San Diego. Haven't opened them yet cuz they are for "Christmas." They look good so far, but I haven't gotten to inspect them thoroughly.

Got this the other day on sale for £14.99, nice price for it.

On the topic of the paint rubbing off, mine seems ok so far. But the was a white line on the tail and a white dot on the head like you get when dust or a hair gets caught in the paint and come off when dry, was kind of distracting so used my watercolours to fix it, so all perfect now.

Great beastie and super figure.

I am not happy that Hasbro included only 3 figures on the Endor BP. There is no way a glider counts for a full figure. They should've thrown in a Biker Scout or a Stormie. I did get this one, specially for Luke.

Ewoks are easy to make, each one is just a newly sculpted head / hood on a reused body - so Hasbro could have tossed in another one to make the Endor set look a bit more 'full', especially considering that all the figures in the pack were retooled from existing molds. Some of the BPs have to be nearly pure profit for Hasbro when they are just popping new heads on old bodies.

I haven't seen a trace of the new battle packs. I'd like to have the gelagrub, but I'd like to see it before I buy it online. Maybe one of these days distribution will be better. Maybe that same day monkeys will fly out of my butt.

Here is a quick review posted by a collector in my area. Hoe this helps:

I just opened the Gelagrub and as something to be used for a diorama, it's definitely worthwhile, but for a toy it sucks. I was not aware it was soft plastic and seems a bit like a dog chew toy. You can press on part of it's body and the pinchers close, so that was kind of neat and because it's soft plastic, if you place it to the light it's somewhat translucent, which could make for a unique looking dio if lights were incorporated.

The trooper is unique because of the cloth waist cape and legs that can be spread open.

I don't regret getting it, but all in all, it's not worth $25.

I don't think the plastic is reall soft, but it has been picked for its luminesance rather than strength.

The figure i think is great and the new atriculation and cloth skirt make is a much improved figure.

Man a dio with led light would look pretty bombad. I may sacrifice the dollars to pick this up. might wait till tax season though

TLC Battle for Endor Battle Pack (Modified).

Postby CloneLCaptain38 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 7:38 pm

Today, I was lucky to find the new Battle Pack "Battle for Endor" at Target for $23.99, and though it was impressive to buy, and comes with Luke Skywalker, Warok the Ewok with hang glider, and Imperial Officer Colonel Dyer, I decided since there was some empty space on the far left, and between Warok and Dyer, I would add two additional figures from my loose collection, with accessories and base, modified just a little, and make it more Battle Ready.

The only figures in my loose collection is from my Power of the Force figures, so I ended up using POTF2 Logray, from the 2-Pack with Wicket, and POTF2 Endor Rebel Soldier. I would have loved to use the POTJ Rebel Soldier, but I don't have one loose, nor do I have a suitable Biker Scout loose, which I first was envisioning to add, but I decided on what you see in the following pics. What do you think?

The figures are placed on two grassy type bases, which I have no idea where they came from, or which sets, or figures, but I found them and have used them quite a bit for figure photography, especially ewoks, so I used them in this modified Battle Pack of "Battle for Endor". I included accessories, but I am sure the weapon is wrong for the Endor Rebel Soldier, and the staff for Logray is wrong, but I just picked out anything from my plastic tub of accessories from all my POTF2 loose figures.

I am not sure if this modification decreases or increases the value of this particular battle pack for myself, if I were to sell it down the line in a decade or so to a potential buyer, but I also modified the classic POTF2 Cantina Showdown Battle Pack years ago, and added I believe Chewbacca, standing behind Obi-Wan Kenobi. It looks really cool.

What does everybody think? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Looks good! I believe though forest bases came with the ROTS Aayla Secura and ROTS Ki-Adi-Mundi.

I think it looks great, and Hasbro would have sold a LOT more of this set had they thrown something like that together instead... this set is currently collecting all kinds of dust at Wal-Mart and TRU stores in my area.

I seem to remember Hasbro saying that the Geonosis sets would be underproduced (or something to that effect) and we should get what we can

these gunpods are still in almost every store on my toy run
