I'm on the fence about this particular set

the generic Gungan had better be different from the previous and the upcoming carded version, and I hope those BDs will have some weathering/damage deco
without those differences I will leave this set on the shelf

I want to say I love this set as I love Gungans and the Battle of Naboo. But I am concerned is that supposed to be Tarpals and will he be updated? If so then that will make this set worth it for sure.

That would be nice and he could have the cannon thing on his back this time. Then we would have a matched set with the FAO version. Actually it would be great for an ultimate battle pack. hmmm....

For me this set depends on the price. If they can manage to do it for $30, I'm in for 1-2, I think.

I'm buying, Its a shame it will not be on Santa's list. Many people in January have credit card bills on their minds, not more toys. A month too late IMO.

The Faamba talk is just hopeful talk though nothing else. So do not get the hopes up.

As for the release date. It makes sense actually. This is to promote the movie which is released in mid February. I am speculating we should be seeing the toy aisles screaming Star Wars come February. This could be a great thing as the toy aisles are bleak in the first quarter.
