Yakfinities #44 - Cloud City Denizens

For my entry, here is Flewel Luthinoe, a Lutrillian businessman who has come to Bespin to attempt to lure the Baron Administrator of Cloud City into a deal which could set his business up in the dark times of The Empire's rule. Unfortunately, Flewel was unaware that someone else was offering a better deal to Lando Calrissian on that same day...

wow, that was quick there super achiever! cool looking figure, im bot familiar with the spieces, but he looks interesting, good use of softgoods and nice back story to go with him.

after struggling with the cloud city theme a bit i finaly have a couple ideas that ive worked up, one of which is about half done already and im pretty excited about this theme now. im looking forward to seeeing all the great stuff everyone comes up with as well.....

Way the go Mousedroid... Great way to start the contest and thats fan-fiction at its best... Thats what I like about this contest, its open the the creativity of the customizer. I just come up with a figure for this contest that I got to start putting together now.

I am in total agreement that this is a wonderful theme - there is so much room to move for creating characters which a) Hasbro would never give us and 2) are removed somewhat from the militaristic. For anyone having troubles thinking of what they could try, here are some out-of-the-box ideas:

* Opun Mcgrrrr (the rotund man who looks like the human Jabba from Ep IV) owns the Holiday Towers hotel on Cloud City - what do his clientele look like, particularly given that Opun is the founder of the Black Hole Pirates?

* If there are Cloud Cars, are there Cloud Buses, and if so, what sort of patrons and drivers do they have? Is there a regular tourist shuttle between Tibannopolis and Cloud City?

* What does a Tibanna gas miner look like? Or a customer trying to keep a low profile? Or a unionist who is organising the labour disputes that Lando has mentioned?

* What happened to Lieutenant Sheckil after he was apprehended by the Wing Guards? Did he end up imprisoned, and if so, what does an incarcerated person wear in a Bespin gaol?

* How big is a Tibannuck? And what did their hunters look like when Cloud City was being constructed?

* Who cleans the windows at Cloud City - are they modified flying repair droids similar to those seen on Coruscant, or do indentured people wear rocketpacks and gas masks to get around with squeegees?

The possibilites are nigh on endless.

Here's a quick one of a POTF2 Han Solo I've wanted to customize into something more interesting:

Daye Silero is your typical working-class engineer from Coruscant who decided to take a vacation and try his hand at the casinos in Cloud City. While he's far from a pro, he thinks he's good enough to take on some of the Sabacc big shots. Unfortunately for him, Lando never loses. He bet his own personal ship, the Finder's Keep, and lost it to Lando. On his return home, he took a Star Tours shuttle and had to sit next to the Teek. It was a long trip home.

Hi All, Chewie suggested I try doing a custom figure and taking a pic of it in my new Cloud City Diorama for this contest, so I thought Id give it a go!
Personally I think I should stick to Dioramas, but hey, I guess it is my first custom figure! I suspect a few techniques need to be learnt yet! LOL!
This figure hasnt been changed excessively but she started life as a Leia Figure (though personally this figure always reminded me more of Helga the Russian Shot Putter! LOL!).
She has been slimmed down quite a lot, her breasts have been worked on and her hair, she is also wearing a new outfit, her boots are longer and now have heels and I just had to add seamed stockings!
The face didnt turn out as I would have liked, but hey its my first (and probably my last!)......Enjoy!

Have been itchin' to enter a YAKfinities since I registered here... these contests showcase some of the best & most creative customs here @ YAKFACE. A brief history before I debut my 1st YAKfinities submission... I had found a Blu-Ray edition Episode5 ESB 4-pk (w/ a Hoth Leia) @ my local K-Mart on clearance for $9.50 --- then I happened upon a VC Zam Wessel @ Marshall's for $5.00 --- then I found a Sandstorm Leia @ WalMart (paid retail - $9.89) So, these were the 3 basic figs that comprise this custom... w/o further adieu...
The Corellian female known as Jaylah Mandrey, was a former Special Invesigator for Corporate Sector Authority. After many years of service with the CSA, she became disillusioned with the gross corruption she witnessed within the force. She offered her considerable talents as a private security contractor for a while, before finding herself as Chief Security Officer of Gaming Industries for Cloud City. Jaylah is the law in Cloud City when it comes to it's gambling facilities... she answers only to Lobot & Baron Administrator Calrissian. She is the ultimate pitboss, overseeing the peaceful progression of daily wagering & discouraging players from cheating or otherwise disruptive behavior, along with providing security escort for many of the gamblers who frequent Cloud City's gaming tables. She is a devastatingly fast draw & deadly accurate when business turns to the elegently lethal end of the spectrum. Gaming Indusries is Cloud City's 2nd largest source of revenue & she protects that resource very well...

SIDENOTE: Jaylah has always had an uncanny ability to "sense" things before they happen, she was unaware of the ambush that the Empire had setup for the crew of the Millenium Falcon & she experienced an uncontrollable illness that coincided with Lord Vader's arrival & had departed Cloud City for medical treatment during these events.

That's really cool, BL4CK5H33P... great use of parts, and you've come up with a very unique looking character. I like the Cloud City-esque diorama too.
