It amazes me how much talk has been made about that appearence, Heard it on TV and Radio since Sunday, and I mean the types who have never read the comic, but they are saying stuff like "She's a fan favorite," and "how interesting she is already" Pretty amazing for about 3 seconds of screen time.

For what it's worth, I don't think the farm stuff was boring at all. To me, a bit of down time in some of the episodes is what makes this series seem more genuine, and continues to make the characters more realistic. There hasn't been a 2 minute span in the whole series that has been boring to me... and I'm very picky on my TV shows... this is the only show I've gotten into over the past 7-8 years, other than 24.

Summing up a few recent episodes - up until the fight that Rick and Shane had, I had been pretty sympathetic to Shane. It was when he threw the wrench at Rick that I no longer cared about the character. I knew from the comics that he didn't have much time left (and they really extended his time on the show as compared to the book, which I thought was fine); and was kind of looking forward to seeing him get killed.

But, in a way I also didn't want to see him die. His unpredictable nature really was entertaining - and he always really did seem to want to take care of and nurture Lori and Carl... however, he ain't the dad, and proved to not be the man that he thought he was. He could have had something with Andrea, but he just couldn't accept how things were. I also kind of wish that Rick hadn't been the one to kill him, and instead Carl had killed him like in the comics - BUT, they did pull this off rather well, because now the group is kind of scared of Rick, and he's having to justify his every move now. Even Glenn was bashing Rick! Didn't see that coming... seems the only one who really has Rick's back now is old man Herschel. They'll rally back around Rick later though.

I think the death that's bothered me the most is Dale... I didn't like him even dying at all, I absolutely loved this guy's character... so much more on the screen than in the comics... Andrea also seems to have lately become softer in her personality, I think there will be some reflection later on how she was so rude to Dale... and having just finished graphic novel #15, there is an ending there that kind of surprised me with her, but I also saw it coming... her character has a long way to go... hope they don't kill her off. But I admit, just a few weeks ago, I was downright sick of her.

Funny how things can change so fast in how you feel about characters in this show... just take how bitchy Lori got at the end of Season 2 - I wanted to reach through the screen and slap her. She had no right to treat Rick like that... and even Carol is starting to show a mean side lately... who can blame her though after what she's been through... gotta love Daryl though... man, that character is so cool, if he turns into the "Tyrese" of the group, let's just hope he doesn't end up with the same fate. I would hope that when it's all said and done, he's still standing by Rick.

I can't believe we have to wait now for Season 3... or how addicted that I am to this series... and Michonne's entrance kicked ass.

Dale's death bugged me on the level that it wasn't story driven but driven by the fact Jeff Demun (who played Dale) wanted out cause of Durabount's fireing, it felt tacked on and not nessessary.

Shane, I was glad to see him go, that whole "young and the restless" part of this story was on my last nerve and I felt had been drawn out too long. He was unhinged long before this season.

Down time didn't bug me, if it had been untiilised, you have characters like Patricia and Jimmy who died who had virtually no character development. And poor T-Dogg, it was a celebration when he got a line in an episode. Lots of characters suffered even though they called the down time "Character development"

Andrea's turns have been hardest for me, cause she is my favorite in the comics but her TV persona is like a pale imitation. She isn't even the same character at all.

However season 3 looks better than ever, I can't wit for that.

I think with Andrea, her character is going to start evolving more into the comic book character that fans of the series have known and loved.

She appeard to be going through some regret with the whole Dale situation and was already starting to soften up a bit when she decided that she agreed with Dale on the "execution" decision.

Awith Shane dead, I think she's going to start getting closer to Rick and the rest of the group. I don't see her being the b!tch so much moving forwad... I think this is all part of character development for the TV series.

I wonder now how things will shake out at the prison - it's going to be awesome seeing them take that place over... assume someone in the group will get killed during that... I wonder who? And will someone challenge Rick for authority (I believe that Rick conceded some to Tyrese in the comic book for a short while)?

Michonne entering the fray will really be a lot of fun moving forward though... and I can't wait until they encounter The Governor... gonna be a long wait, what 6-7 months? Have they said when there will be a preview for Season 3?

I have a terrible feeling that they will cut a lot of the prison taking out. Which I hope does not happen at all.

But I feel we are going to end up in the middle or towards the end of them finding/clearing out the prison.

Well they said Tyreese will be in season 3 already. At the prision they began having a council of Rick, Tyreese, Dale, and Herchel (all were elected), of course 2 of those died there and a third was killed later leaving only rick now and the idea was never revisitied. But the point was rick was overwhelmed and the others thought he needed some weight off his shoulders (true).

There was Dexter also in the prison who tried to kick the survivors out, not sure if he will pop up or not. If they do take a character from the prision arc of hte comic I am hoping for Axel, he was funny and kind of cool IMO.

Oh, didn't know that Tyrese was confirmed, that's cool - a tough guy to replace Shane.

I'm guessing in the first 2-3 episodes of the next season, they'll be clearing out the prison... then at the end of one episode, they'll find the prison survivors in the kitchen. Then right around midway through Season 3, the Governor will be introduced... then there will be a couple months off as all hell breaks loose and we then get the second half of Season 3.

Cool a thread for my favorite show. I am wondering if Andrea and Michonne will get involved with Governor before Ricks group does. Remember Andrea still thinks Shane is alive, so there will possibly be strife if she ever meets up with Rick again.

Has anyone read the book that's supposed to bridge Season 2 and 3 (Rise of the Governor)?

Also, SPOILER ALERT... some Season 3 tidbits below...

Read Rise of the Govenor, didn't think of it as bridging the two seasons but more of a prequel to the whole Woodbury story, either way. It was ok but not great, there were some interesting twists.

The guy playing the Govenor is interesting though, He was the fake Doctor in one of the Doctor Who christmas specials, totally different character (He had accedentally had a Cybermen file on the Doctor downloaded into his brain thus believeing himself to be the Doctor, really weird but was also cool).

Not sure how he will translate though, but I am willing to give him a chance.

Merle is cool to confirm since he was what I thought SHOULD have been the main baddie last season (they needed something to liven that season up, was the most boring part of the comic too).

Is it me, or does it look like Merle has both hands, I have actually had a theory on that since the ep he supposidly cut his hand off, but it looks like he is holding a club or something there.

Looks to me like some sort of metal brace to support his lost hand.

I'm pretty sure that's what it is. It looks like the lower part of it is binding around his arm for support.

This is a better look and you're right, cool

Edit: I just noticed he is in the same truck that is behind the govenor in the previous pic, I suppose the speculation that Merle joined up with the Govenor could be true as well, I was kind of hoping against it though, seems too easy to predict.
