Chapter 4: Shadow of Death
Chapter 5: Depths of Despair
Chapter 6: Seekers of the Dark Relic
Chapter 7: Veils of Deceit
Chapter 8: Catastrophe
Chapter 9: The Fall of Banyss
Chapter 10: Shards of Rebellion
Chapter 11: Desolation
Chapter 12: Rising Depths

And updated character profiles are as follows:

Image
Rykrof Enloe - Homeworld - Naboo. Former Republic Commander, who is now an enemy of the Empire. He has a history of entanglements with the Badoo Corba terrorist organization, dating back prior to the Clone Wars. He is a former close friend of Imperial Baron Tylin Gere and was been forced to embark on a desperate mission to acquire an ancient Sith artifact for Tylin - which ended in failure. Since then, he has inadvertently led Imperial forces to a secret Rebel base on Banyss, which was destroyed by Darth Vader's forces. Rykrof has now been taken captive by the Empire and resides in the Imperial penal colony on Tartaaris. Most of those dear to him believe he is now deceased.

Image
K3-95 - Homeworld - Tartaaris. Pieced together from scrap and given life by an unknown prisoner resident on Tartaaris. He has befriended Rykrof following the recent death of his friend, Garlin Nomad.

Image
The Maker - Homeworld - Unknown. Very little is know about this myserious individual, other than he is the current warden of the Imperial penal colony on Tartaaris. For years, he has crafted custom hunter droids from the countless junk piles on Tartaaris and programmed them to terrorize the prisoner population. Rarely seen by the local garrison, the Maker has recently been stirring due to rumors of a pending prisoner revolt.

Image
Baron Tylin Gere - Homeworld - Naboo. Former close ally of Rykrof Enloe, the two served as Republic Peace Officers prior to the Clone Wars and later as officers in the Grand Army of the Republic. Tylin thirsts for power and has become obsessed with acquiring an ancient Sith artifact, which was recently acquired by Darth Vader, who he secretly sees as a rival. He has taken custody of Alyssa and Caldin Enloe, and ordered the death of Rykrof's father. He believes Rykrof Enloe is dead, once and for all.

Image
Commander Vlarra Gere - Homeworld - Naboo. Nephew of Tylin Gere. Vlarra has always admired his uncle's ambition and strives to rise through the Imperial ranks quickly, regardless of the means.

Image
Emperor Palpatine - Homeword - Naboo. Dark Lord of the Sith and the undisputed leader of the Galactic Empire. He attempted to mold Rykrof Enloe as the ideal Imperial officer but failed. He takes great interest in Baron Tylin Gere's personal quests for power and admires his ambition.

Image
Darth Vader - Homeworld - Tatooine. Dark Lord of the Sith and follows the instructions of his master, Emperor Palpatine. During the Clone Wars, he was once friends with Rykrof Enloe. He considers Rykrof a traitor to the Empire but also is fully aware that Rykrof once helped protect Padme Amidala, and rather than killing him, he has spared Rykrof's life by sending him to a secret penal colony on Tartaaris. However, his loyalties to Emperor Palpatine are secure.

Image
The undisclosed Imperial penal colony on Tartaaris has now been Rykrof Enloe's home for several years.

Image
The Imperial garrison has prevented any prisoner revolts...

Image
...and recently intensified prisoner disposals.

Image
In the midst of it all, Rykrof Enloe has survived this harsh lifestyle for far too long...

Image
...and is now willing to take desperate measures.

Image
"I don't understand why you're going in this direction," K3-95 asks.

Image
"The secret entrance into the Imperial facilty is southeast of here."

Image
Rykrof ignores the droid as he continues north.

Image
"We're going the wrong way!"

Image
"Perhaps this impossible human is losing his hearing?" the droid wonders aloud.

Image
"...or he's just plain ignorant."

Image
"Maybe I am," Rykrof smirks.

Image
"Oh!" the droid exclaims sarcastically.
"What a privilege! He's speaking to the lowly droid again!"

Image
"Just stay close to me," Rykrof says.

Image
"And don't make any sudden moves."

Image
"Sudden moves? What are you talking about?"

Image
"This isn't a very safe area..."

Image
"Hey you! Drop the weapons!"

Image
"Did you just intentionally get us captured?"

Image
"Shut up, droid!"

Image
"The droid is not a threat," Rykrof assures the other prisoner.
"But you'll find he's most useful."

Image
"Keep your hands where I can see them," the alien growls.

Image
"I need to see Atracion," Rykrof says cautiously.
"That's the only reason we ventured this way."

Image
"It's going to be dark soon," he continues.
"I don't think any of us want to be out here when that happens."

Image
"Right... I'm sure the boss would love to see you," the other prisoner says.

Image
That night, an eerie glow envelopes the landscape...

Image
...as the Maker's droids roam through the debris in their search for victims.

Image
Nearly a dozen kilometers away, the Maker slowly exits the Imperial complex...

Image
...while the watch guards curiously observe the warden's recent behavior.

Image
"Sir?" Chief Rolem asks as he approaches the Maker.

Image
"With the recent spike in prisoner activity, I would not advise for you to..."

Image
"I have ensured that the prisoner population has dropped low enough to prevent any threats," the Maker sharply interjects.

Image
"What is the latest status of prisoner 1067?"

Image
"Oh, Enloe," the Imperial officer pauses.
"He appears to have been captured by Atracion's gang..."

Image
"...but still, with the recent prisoner activities, I would recommend the garrison stays on yellow alert."

Image
"Enloe isn't stupid," the Maker affirms.
"But he's bolder than I realized."

Image
"What do you mean?"

Image
"I do not believe he was captured."

Image
"Enloe is attempting to form an alliance..."

Image
"...but he has no idea what is in store for him."

Image
The next morning, Rykrof can only see pitch black...

Image
...as he is escorted to the leader of the prison gangs.

Image
"Steady," a now familiar voice cautions him.

Image
Rykrof can quickly sense that he has gained an audience.
"Let's see him," a gruff voice commands.

Image
Rykrof's escort then violently tears his mask off!

Image
A blurry view of his captors begins to form in Rykrof's eyes...

Image
...as he realizes he is face to face with the Quarren known as Atracion!

Image
"Thanks for the hospitality," Rykrof says.

Image
"You trespassed into my land!" Atracion bellows.
"The punishment is execution!"

Image
"I only came here to cut a deal with you," Rykrof replies.

Image
"What could you possibly have to offer me that would be worth my time?"

Image
"Just kill him and be done with it," one of his men suggests.

Image
"Yes... we haven't had good meat in months," the other agrees.

Image
"Let him talk," the escort argues.

Image
"Indeed."

Image
"Who are you?" Atraction demands.
"And what is it you want?"

Image
"My name is Rykrof Enloe. I'm here to offer a solution to our mutual problem."

Image
"Enloe?" the Quarren replies.
"...I've heard of you..."

Image
"...sworn enemy of the Badoo Corba."

Image
Rykrof then closes his eyes in anticipation of a laser blast...

Image
"No need to piss yourself," Atracion laughs.
"I'm not going to shoot you."

Image
"...at least not today."

Image
"Then I hope we can work together to get off this planet," Rykrof says.
"If you're willing."

Image
"And just how do you propose we do that?"

Image
"I can get us into the Maker's complex," Rykrof explains.
"But I'm going to need my droid."

Image
"Why the droid?" one of the thugs growls.
"Why's he so important?"

Image
"Quiet down," Atracion warns his subordinate.

Image
"My audacious new friend and I have some talking to do..."

Image
"...in private."

Great chapter! I can't wait to see what happens next.

I found this chapter a little short, perhaps because I want to read more instantly, but perhaps because not a lot happened.

You manage to pack a lot of info into a shot, so much that even if you removed a third of your photos, I would still know what was going on. I'd be disappointed to have less pictures to look at, but the story would remain intact.

I have read the chapter quickly tonight. So I will come back and give more thoughts later...

1) good photography. I really liked the effect of the quarren being out of focus showing the images from Enloe's perspective. Very nice. Eyes closed. Really good effect.

2) good dialogue. Love the banter between Enloe and the droid. Attraction is well designed as a crime boss. And already an interesting character

3) prison garb. Can't be said enough how individualized the prisoners garb is. Creates a realistic experience in this intergalactic metal purgatory.

4) the maker. Fun new villain. What is its head? Several head I am embarrassed to say that I don't recognize.

5) loved th sets. Some are the new Death Star walls. Others I am not sure

6) badoo corba reference back. Neat.

It is just a treat to read this. I can't wait to see what is next.

Excellent chapter, I love the look of the Maker, Chewie. This chapter seems to be building up to something big, anticipating the next chapter. :D

Great photography and very well written.

A good easy going chapter. It seems a little shorter then your previous work, but works great as a teaser for what is to come I believe?
You really have some impressive skills, when it comes to making the dioramas, customs and photographing it. It simply amaze me everytime I read a chapter.

I was surprised to see so much of the Makers face, before an actual "face-off" later on, atleast that's what I'm hopeing for will happen :D

Thanks for reading and taking the time to share some thoughts. :)

Yeah, it was not a long chapter my any means. About 70-75 frames including the opening crawl. I could have done more frames, but I felt like the chapter was going to get too sidetracked with dialogue/etc. Just didn't see a need and I didn't want the chapter to get too boring.

While this one had no action to speak of, the intent was to propel Rykrof into finally taking some real action. Rather than just trying to take it "a day at a time surviving" he is now doing something bold - attempting to work together with the rough prisoner gang to face off against their Imperial captors.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks buddy! Glad you are liking the Maker's appearance.

Definitely trying to build up to something bigger here, and a surprise or two as well! I think what is planned for the next chapter will be a bit unpredictable, but cool. At least that's my hope.

Thank you - I really appreciate the feedback and you reading this.

Yep, was not a long chapter. I've kept the past three chapters a bit shorter because I felt like there were good "ending points" for each of these while Rykrof is on the planet and didn't want to draw things out. The next chapter should be a bit longer. Probably 100~ish frames.

The dioramas are probably the most consuming part of it all these days. I try and make them as detailed now as I can, so while photographing, I have more options and less editing to do.

I showed a bit more of the Maker's face here than last time like you indicated. I really struggled with those pics. Get ready for a surprise with him though moving forward. I think it will be fun.

Again - thank you!

As always, thank you for the support! It always means a lot.

1) Thanks on the photography and the effects with the blurred vision and Rykrof's eyes. Did you notice his teeth in a frame? And on one of the prisoners too? :)

2) Glad you liked the interaction between Rykrof and the droid, and Atracion's design. I like the look of him more now than when first making the custom.

3) Thanks on the prisoner outfits. The one sleeveless guy running from the droid in the opening section is a new custom - I wanted to show someone who hadn't been seen before that looked like he's been through a lot!

4) The Maker's head is a space helmet from Clone Wars Anakin, the face is from a Mezco Jason Voorhees figure. The Imperial officer (Chief Rolem) has a head from Mola Ram from Indiana Jones. Just repainted to look more like an old man.

5) Thanks on the sets, and yeah some are the Space Walls from GTP toys... I used a combo on 3.75" and 6" scale walls for the Maker's scene. The junk is just from lots of vehicles really.

6) Thank you! I hope the next chapter(s) don't disappoint!

Love the teeth.

Also the first guy is a temple of doom Indy torso. Awesome. The Jason Head is great and really adds a level of diversity to the pieces.

Good use of a black screen. I enjoyed that episode, setting up what may, or may not happen next.

Phenomenal, as always! The only flaw is how short it is. Argh! :-) All technical aspects are perfect, the customs, the dioramas, the photography, the special effects, the plot, the dialogue... what is there to say? I do wish you'd pick up the pace! But thank you for this, really, awesome.

Yep, first guy is an Indy torso like you said. :-)

I look forward to showing more on the maker --- I honestly think everyone who reads these is going to be very surprised!
