I love my new VC Tatooine Skiff! Great paint and detail. Matches great with Jabba's Barge! Lots of attention to little details really make this exceptional. I like that the few play features do not take away from the toy's aesthetic. The stand is nice, also.

The thing that bothers me the most about this being released really has nothing to do with the toy itself. It is not the problems some peeps will have getting it, and it's not the price-point. There are still some "blink/missed" obscure guards not in figure form yet, and I'm mostly OK with that. I'm really bothered that we are still stuck with an awful Barada Figure! Neither the POTF2 or the later repaint were ever good! VC Kithaba was a step in the right direction. Hasbro really needs to update the characters that most fans know. And don't forget Pote Snitkin!

This is a nice vehicle! When I opened the box, I couldn't believe the size of the skiff. That's impressive in size! I love the detail and the thought that went into the base.

My only complaint was getting railings on, especially on the sides. They didn't really want to snap in place at all. I had read someone on jedidefender warned that the railings were easy to get stress marks, so I was cautious to apply pressure in areas other than the base of the railings.

And I agree with everything you wrote, JawaKing. Hasbro needs to crank out some skiff guards. I know we're missing:
Prisoner Skiff
Velken Tezeri

Escort Skiff
Barada
Gailid
*Lathe *(we have him, just didn't come named)
Pote Snitkin (update)
Unidentified Human Guard #1
Unidentified Human Guard #2 (with armor like Lando's)
Yotts Orren

and I think we could use an update on Chewbacca and Han (headsculpt!) as well

I got to look at mine more, and I think it’s kind of funny there are some turbos under the “hood” in one of the hatches. The paint, sculpt, and playability are perfect on this. It is so well done, I can’t believe Hasbro made it. The same can be said for the RO tank though too!

As Vlad mentioned, I can see stress marks being super easy to form on the weaker plastic, and I also had some trouble getting my railing to snap in. I’ve seen some people say foot pegs would be a good idea, but I like it without. One alternative could have been alternative pegged flooring hoods, but that would have been an extra unnecessary cost IMO.

I agree. I was thinking it'd be nice to have to pose the figures on the skiff, but it'd ruin the aesthetic of the floor.

Yeah, it'd make it cost more, but I suppose the plus-side of having the pegs is displaying figures on a careening skiff to keep them from falling onto the floor/Sarlacc Pit. "Sorry, Luke! You didn't survive the Battle of Carkoon because Hasbro forgot to put pegs in!"

I ended up cancelling my Skiff from Hasbro Pulse and ordered it from Amazon. Not sure why they are taking so long to ship them.

I just realized that there is one detail that Hasbro left off the skiff: the magnetic "hooks" that pick up the droids. I'd have been fine with it sculpted in (non-working), but otherwise this things is perfect.

I would have never even thought about that!

Actually, I’m glad they’re not on there because that was one part of the scene I didn’t like, even as a kid. Not only do the droids jump off on the Sarlacc side of the barge, but then they’re just conveniently picked up by the skiff. Also...WHAT HAPPENED TO R2 FLYING THROUGH THE PREQUELS, IN FRONT OF GOD AND EVERYONE. Suddenly he can’t when he absolutely needs to???

I agree, Jodo. Also, where are these magnetic things on the movie Skiff? They look too bulky to fully retract into the shallow hull. Why would a Skiff have these? Maybe for salvage, I guess. Skiffs don't seem to be designed as industrial craft, though. And how do the droids get from under there to the top side of the Skiff? They would have to be picked up, released onto the sand, the Skiff landed, the droids brought up on board, and then the Skiff still somehow escapes before the Barge blows. This is really wonky.

In my head it make more sense that R2 (via his booster rockets) would have simply carried 3PO to the Skiff where the other Rebel terrorists are waiting. Then they all fly off together. Simple.

I thought I read somewhere once that R2 no longer has his booster rockets because they burned out and were never replaced. It might have been in the Visual Dictionary.

I love my skiff; it goes perfectly with the barge and the detail is incredible. I have my sitting besides a diorama with Jabba's palace.
