Dear zedhatch,

Thank you for your interest and suggestion for our next exclusive! Look for the GOLD deco ARC-170 to be a $90 exclusive at a store near you.

Yours truly,

Hasbro.

What i only picked the wampa version up at the begin of the year for £20 with a TRU voucher, normally £30 this is disgusting, well when more and more stuff is going on clearance and in sales then maybe they'll learn that this year they really have taken the biscuit, what happened to encouraging parents to buy during hard times not turn them away?
Howdo

Really, this does take the cake doesn't it? Why is this over $50? Hasbro's reasoning that this is what made the upcoming Y-Wing possible is a line of bull in my opinion.

Let this sit, and Hasbro learn a lesson from it. I refuse to spend that much money... might as well get a Turbo Tank for $20 more.

Well I think that this ship is going to be around $20 cheaper at Walmart, $15 cheaper at Target. Still though, the price is nuts...

I know Hasbro has said they needed to have this on the shelf so there would be a spot for the Y-Wing due to retailer demands, but honestly I feel they screwed up on this one royally. It's destined for clearance and might be set a bad precedent for retailers wanting other vehicles in this size range in the future.

Bah, it's not for us anyway, it's for parents to buy for their kids for xmas. It might sit around until the holidays but once the stores get bare and parents become desperate, it'll sell. I once saw a couple going nuts with joy when they found an Endor AT-AT when there was nothing else on the shelves. heh.

i've missed all the previous iterations of this ship.... i WON'T be forking out 80 bucks for it though for sure.... if we all band together and let it sit then maybe the big H will learn something... i'll be looking for this one on clearance.

The problem with "letting them sit" is that they were developed to be a place/shelf holder until the Y-Wing came out because it was/is delayed. If several Imp. ARCs are still sitting there that might prevent stores from putting the Y-Wings out.

Perhapes I am misunderstanding you, but it almost sounds like you are telling people to basicly pay $160 for the Y-Wing (assuming the Y-Wing is in this price range) because hasbro set it up that way.

I too am not buying into the "Placeholder" story as this just sounds fishy. Never heard of doing that for any other release before.

Yes, I think you are to some degree. I'm not suggesting you spend the extra $80 to get the Y-wing on the shelf. If you have any concern about having to wait until the overpriced ARC sells through, purchase the Y-wing online and cut out the middle man, that's what I'll do if the need arises.

A similar scenario happened with the Jabba's Rancor. It took forever to hit retail because the CW and TLC Ultimate Battle Packs sat for so long taking the shelf space that was to be reserved for the Rancor. I was able to get a Rancor back in January I think from Target.com while, in my area, it only hit store shelves in the last month and a half or so.

And just to rub more salt in the wound, a local Target raised the price of the Rancor from $39.99 to $50.

In that case, it can sit there.
