Finished a new dio last week, it is a partisan kind of base / market for parts trade:

Truly spectacular! Wow, amazing job. Can you describe the process you used to create those great stone walls?? I've tried (and catastrophically failed) to make similar walls in the past.

No problem, here is how I did:

1- Draw the basic profile over the foam, including the cracks
2 - Using a sharp knife or soldering iron scar the surface over profiles with different depths. Use a metal, ruler to keep some lines strait.
3 - Build the texture punching a stone over the surface, as many times as necessary.
4 - Base paint, and whash over the surface to finish the job

Follow up question:

I bought some blue foam years ago to make dios with, but every time I make any cuts in them, the foam tears at a perpendicular angle to the cut. Regardless of what tool I use and even if the cuts are shallow.

When I see images or videos online of people making dios, they are almost always using pink foam.

is that a better material for dios? Did I buy the wrong kind? Or does it not matter and I'm simply unlucky and/or incompetent?

Thanks!
