So a brief example-15 people are interested in the fodder box. It's decided that #1 is the "starter". #2-15 send some fodder (again, not all of it) to #1. Number One then boxes it all up, adding some of their own of course. Number One then sends it #2. Number Two takes some from the box and adds some to the box and then sends it to #3 and so on.

I like this plan. But I have questions.
It would be a lottery or something to see who goes in what order?
Maybe we could define the starter-fodder a little better? I was thinking an example would look like a couple heads, a couple of sets of arms, a couple sets of hands, a couple sets of feet, a couple sets of legs (with or without crotch), a couple torsos/crotches, and a few extras like belts, bandoliers, hats, helmets, or other accessories? Oh, or do you mostly keep your fodder in whole-figure form?
Something like 2-4 figures worth of parts (or figures) from each should be enough to start, right?
Also, keep this limited to one country, or someone is going to have a larger shipping cost?
I'm ok with that as long as everyone is in agreement. Also, should we determine what is acceptable for fodder? I know in the past this was a bit of an issue.Jodo":3c889m1d said:I still maintain that if people are going to participate, they should have to post pics of what they are putting in, and take pics of what they are taking out.

It's kind of a Catch 22. On one hand it's a nice feeling to be surprised by what's in the box. On the other hand without some sort of visual documentation and a bit of accountability, someone could take out 30 pieces and only put in 3 or worse, take all the really good SA figures and put in 5 POA figures from the dollar store.Chuckles":399zbjg5 said:Jodo":399zbjg5 said:I still maintain that if people are going to participate, they should have to post pics of what they are putting in, and take pics of what they are taking out.
I get the concern, but feel like it wrecks the surprise. Could the photos be sent to a box-administrator, or maybe a separate thread, in case people want to keep the surprise of opening the box?

I like your idea of sending fodder to a starter box. As for contents of the box, how about no non toy fodder. We can leave out toothpicks and things of that nature that were in the box the last time.I would be down to participate again. We would need a new box to get this started, as the last one seemingly disappeared. I am not sure of the best protocol for establishing a new and improved box. Doesn't seem fair to have someone with mountains of fodder to be tasked with filling the box first. Maybe those who want to participate send a reasonable amount of parts to seed the box to someone who packs them all together, randomizes the order of who gets the box, then mails it, and resumes removing and replacing parts as it circulates. That might be more trouble than it is worth. I don't know...
I also think we would need to establish some ground rules, such as:
Regardless, I enjoyed this in the past, and as I get older, it seems there are fewer things I get to look forward to just for me and my niche interests. I would be glad to participate.
- Use a priority mailing box to keep shipping costs the same.
- Each person reserves the right to review the contents of the box for junk. If they feel there is something qualifying as junk, they can post a picture of it to survey if anyone wants it. If no one does, it goes to the landfill.
- 5poa parts are not allowed except for heads. Some of those alien heads from POTF2 figures are occasionally handy.
- Others?
