Customs by mousedroidhoojib

Appearing in issues 7 and 8 of All-Star Superman, Zibarro is the imperfect clone of Bizarro #1 (who is the imperfect clone of Superman) on the cubed planet Htrae.

beautiful work on Obi-Wan Kenobi mousedroid.. your tailoring skills are always great to look at..

You are too kind, drod26.

Discovered as a child in a crashed escape pod on Wroona, young Woldun never knew his ancestry or even species. Being raised as a farmer, Woldun became aware of the interconnectedness of all living things, never suspecting that he had latent Force abilities. Only when his adopted family were killed in a senseless accident did Woldun embrace the use of The Force, becoming ensconsed in the Dark Side and taking the name Darth Ha'DIbaH. Building a unique curved lightsaber in a style which he saw in a vision, Darth Ha'DIbaH left Wroona looking for clues to his species and his instinctive agression, beginning to understand that he may actually be from another universe altogether...

Recipe:

* SlayerDesignStudio head
* GI Joe Resolute Snake Eyes (modified, for the entire body, sans head)
* Episode I Darth Maul (for the lightsaber)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Grave Yard Earth", "Snake Bite Leather", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Catachan Green", "Golden Yellow", "Blood Red", "Mithril Silver", "Tin Bitz")

"Ha'DIbaH" translates to "animal" in Klingon.

As appearing fleetingly in and around Dex's Diner in Attack Of The Clones, here is Coruscant's premier private investigator, Slyther Bushforb:

Slyther_Bushforb_promo.jpg

Recipe:

* Clone Wars El-Les (modified, for the entire body sans head and lower legs)
* ROTS Yoda (for the feet)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Ice Blue", "Desert Yellow", "Golden Yellow", "Skull White", "Chaos Black")

His neck should be a little longer, he probably should be wearing shoes, his coat may be a smidge too long and he perhaps looks a little too happy, but given the lack of reference materials available and the fact that he is only seen from a distance outside of the Diner (bottom camera left talking to Ony Bobissia as the scene zooms in) and from behind inside the Diner (over Obi-Wan's shoulder), who is to say that he isn't spot on?

While The Empire was hardly known for being an equal opportunity employer, there were occasions where their shock troop forces were bolstered through local inhabitants. One such occasion was the garrison on the remote world of Anteantiller,a small planet in the Outer Rim where a tropical forest annually shed radioactive spores which proved toxic to species with XY chromosomes. Knowing that their male clone troops would provide little use on such a world, the young Imperial Lieutenant Ellif Nescken drafted a number of the female inhabitants of Anteantiller into the Galactic Marines, equipping them with specialised Stormtrooper helmets, armour and weaponry in order to maintain peace and stability on their small world.

Recipe:

* ROTS Anakin Skywalker (heavily modified, for the head)
* TCW Phase II Captain Rex (heavily modified, for the entire body, sans head and parts of the legs)
* TVC General Grievous (modified, for the ankles which became the knees on this figure)
* TVC Clone Trooper (modified, for the helmet and part of the pistol)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Kommando Khaki", "Bleached Bone", "Elf Flesh", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Bubonic Brown", "Mithril Silver")

Clone Wars figures are remarkably simple to change gender upon given their smaller stature. With Rex not having knees and Grevious having relatively easy to modify ankles, sticking the two of them together seemed a natural fit:

In addition to changing gender on the body, I did likewise to the head. I'm not sure that this one has turned out as well as the Obi-Wan to Nightsister Mighella I did not that long ago, but it could be worse:

Looking at these photos, I kinda-sorta wish that I had made a slightly more modest jumpsuit, as there is definately a Power Girl-esque buxomness that may not be appropriate for an officer of the Empire.

Way back in November 2010, the second custom figure that I attempted was Bana Breemu as seen in the Deleted Scenes in the Revenge Of The Sith DVD. Given that the original figure was beyond terrible, I thought that it was time to revisit her.

* GI Joe ROC Storm Shadow (modified, for the head)
* Princess Leia Collection Ceremonial Leia (for the arms and upper body)
* Clone Wars Space Suit Ahsoka (for the lower body and legs)

* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Dwarf Flesh", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Blood Red")

The Galactic Civil War provided opporunity to profit for mercenaries, such as the Twi'lek Koron Notili, eager to fight for whichever side paid their fees.

Recipe:

* GI Joe Resolute Zartan (modified, for the head and gun)
* POTF2 Bespin Han Solo (modified, for the entire body sans head and most of the right arm)
* Vintage Collection General Grievous (modified, for one of the arms which formed the elbow and either side of the right arm)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Bleached Bone", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Kommando Khaki", "Ice Blue", "Mithril Silver")

Here is Grand Moff Tarkin's widow, Lady Thalassa Tarkin (nee Motti), as she appeared in 1979's newspaper strip "Princess Leia: Imperial Servant":

22.jpg

Recipe:

* Clone Wars 2012 CW01 Anakin Skywalker (heavily modified, for the entire body)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Elf Flesh", "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Red Gore", "Codex Gray", "Regal Blue", "Ice Blue")

I took the colouring of the robes from the Dark Horse adaptation of the newspaper strip, which may or may not be "correct" (ie, Leia's costume changes back and forth from red to white between panels), plus changed it around slightly - I wasn't happy with the three patterned strips flowing from the plunging neckline, so changed it to a single plain one instead. The head perhaps looks younger and less severe than the newspaper strip version but I figure that Lady Tarkin has access to the best plastic surgeons and dermatologists that the Empire has to keep her looking sprightly.

Wow mousedroid, these customs are excellent. I really like how you transform these figures and the I progress pictures are a n touch.. Impressive. With a little work, anakins face can turn into a female.. Haha awesome.

During the short time that I have been a part of this forum you have quickly become one of my favorite customizers!

I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

And I must admit that your knowledge on SW lore gets me a little jealous at times :mrgreen: haha!

Your skills, especially with the soft goods, improve with each creation, keep up the good work, man!!!

Thanks heaps for the kind words, drod26, YAK_Chewie and Knauer.

Next up, here is Brookish Boon, a Sy Myrthian (the same species as Toonbuck Tora) who is seen attending the Coruscant Opera House in Revenge Of The Sith:

* some paint (Citadel "Desert Yellow", "Bleached Bone", "Chaos Black", "Snake Bit Leather", "Kommando Khaki", "Grave Yard Earth")

I had grand plans for the "dress" part of the costume, but they didn't come to fruition in the way that I wanted them to, so I ended up just using a knit material to approximate the texture of the on screen model. The colours are a little off, but you get the idea. The on screen model also wears a hat (apparently with a secret recording device beneath it) but I left it off the figure, preferring to use the reference from the Dressing A Galaxy exhibit. The head is a much closer match to the on screen model from side-on, but that shot was a little boring to look at. The perspective used below doesn't really emphasise the shadows behind the eyes, making the head look a little flatter than it actually is in person. Wouldn't it be nice to post a genuinely 3D image?

Here is the Viscount of Valahari, Harko Vane as he appeared in the Dark Horse Clone Wars comic arc, Heroes Of The Confederacy:

Recipe:

* Episode I Darth Maul (modified, for the entire figure)
* some modelling clay
* some material
* some paint (Citadel "Chaos Black", "Skull White", "Dark Flesh", "Space Wolves Grey", "Burnished Gold", "Regal Blue", "Blood Red")

I elaborated a little on the costume to take it from the four colour world into 1:18 scale form but hopefully it is still recognisable (or un-recognisable given how minor the character really is in the overall scheme of the saga).

For one reason or another, I haven't been overly happy with the last couple of figures that I have put together, so for something different, I thought that I would have a try at putting together a vehicle to give me some time to percolate other ideas. I started out wanting to put together an A-9 Interceptor, but ended up going into a marginally different direction. When I asked my wife what it should be called, she started riffing about sharks, so this is what I call an ASF (Shark Fin) Interceptor.

Recipe:

* The Corps Rapid Assault Attack Fighter (heavily modified, for the main body)
* Movie Heroes Naboo Royal Fighter (modified, for the wings and engines)
* ROTS Obi-Wan (for the "kicking pole")
* some LEGO pieces
* some modelling clay
* some paint (Citadel "Kommando Khaki", "Tin Bitz", "Boltgun Metal", "Castle Grey", "Regal Blue", "Blazing Orange", "Golden Yellow", "Chaos Black", "Devlan Mud")

Occasionally, Star Wars canonicity trips over itself, with events previously established in places such as the Expanded Universe being contradicted by other events in official media such as the Prequels and Clone Wars. One potentially bizarre recent change is the look of Miraj Scintel, the Queen of Zygerria between how she first appeared in the "Slaves Of The Republic" arc of Dark Horse's 2008 Clone Wars comic to how she appeared in the 2011 Clone Wars episode "Slaves Of The Republic". Being that I like the look of the former moreso than the latter, I thought that I would attempt to bring her to life in 3.75" form:

As seen in several episodes of The Clone Wars and in a deleted scene from Revenge Of The Sith, the BD-3000 class of luxury attendant droids, nicknamed "Bettybots", served the social elite of Coruscant and other core worlds in roles as diverse as office aides, to pilots, to household cooks and cleaners, to in some cases, escorts. Their pleasing aesthetics and feminine vocabulator made them a popular choice for customisation, occasionally being fitted with Twi'lek style lekku.

I had tried putting together a movie-style BD-3000 back in 2010 as one of my first customs, and as is the case with all of my reduxs, it really is terrible in comparison to this new version. Of course, this new Clone Wars style version is far more perfect - there is something a little "off" about the sculpted head, particularly when viewed from certain angles.
