That Lop custom is truly amazing. Truly captures the look and feel of the character. I loved that Visions episode too.

We recently received a really awesome gift box in the mail from our good friend and fellow artist Peak-OB1 Custom Creations that included an amazingly cool green resin print of Mother Talzin's Sword that inspired the below custom. We had a spare Morgan Elsbeth TVC action figure on an extremely damaged card (Thanks to Amazon's horrible practice of shipping collectibles in paper envelopes! WTH!). All we had to was break out our paintbrushes and get crackin'!

I based her face, neck, and hands in Reaper's Elf Flesh paint, and then used Caucasian Flesh as a medium tone. I generously highlighted with Maiden Flesh to give her that pale Nightsister look. I painted her tattoos with Reaper's Ashen brown, and mixed in some black to make the shaded areas pop.

May the 4th Be With You! This will only be one of many reveals you are sure you to come across on this year's Star Wars Day!

Today we have a figure reveal for you all! Fozec is an action figure Dad has been wanting to add to my collection for many years now. Fozec received some serious screen time in the Jabba's Palace scenes from "Return of the Jedi". Fozec can be found behind Han and Leia after Han was freed from his Carbonite block and Fozec was also standing behind Jabba when Luke first arrived at Jabba's Palace and making his iconic fall into the Rancor pit.

Thanks to some friends of ours we were able to bring Fozec to life. We had a friend overseas who provided us with a headsculpt that they had made and another friend provided us with Fozec's trident. From there we just needed to sculpt our own torso, some legs, and some arms. Dad and I took turns with all of the sculpting passes on this figure until all that we had left to do was add some paint to the completed sculpt. Dad and I took turns here with the paint too and what you see is the final result of all of our efforts.

Fozec was a spy for the Empire who kept tabs on Jabba's activities for the ISB. He secretly hoped to leave the Empire and pursue lucrative opportunities in the criminal underworld.

A month ago our good friend Chad Peak aka Peak-OB1 Custom Creations sent us a box chock full of some of his latest 3D printed designs.

As I painted up Fozec, Dad grabbed this Jawa from the box and painted him up.

The Jawa action figure has swivel wrists and an articulated head.

We absolutely loved this design and he is currently sitting on the steps of our Jabba's Throne Room.

With the the new Cantina HasLab now in full swing we thought it would be an appropriate time for us to pull out some really spectacular headsculpts we were fortunate enough to acquire from the talented sculptor John Evergrey. We wanted everyone to get as excited as we are about Hasbro's latest campaign offering and we figured what better way to go about that than by creating and sharing some really cool custom action figures with you all.

If you saw our recent Fozec figure we posted last month than you may already be familiar with the artist John Evergrey. The sculptor has legendary status in the Rebelscum.com forums for well over a decade now. Evergrey had the most desired headsculpts in the entire community, but they were never available for purchase. Then, one day, Evergrey offered to sell all of his original Star Wars headsculpts as a lot. The price was a bit steep but a small group of customizers banded together to make the purchase and the rest is history. We were extremely fortunate to acquire a few of these casts from the artist privately and they our the perfect centerpieces for our latest custom Cantina creations. We are hoping to share a few other Cantina customs before the campaign ends July 8th.

To make Debnoli, Dad sourced the parts from what he was able to find in our fodder, then did the quick build, as I painted the Evergrey head. I also drew the lines onto the robe Debnoli was wearing with a thin brown Sharpie. The permanent marker had some serious fumes that made me feel nauseous and even gave me a headache so be careful working with them for a long time. Make sure to be somewhere with good ventilation and take breaks if you feel yourself start to become affected.

Dad used TVC Bespin Luke beneath the robe of the Comic Pack - Uncle Owen so the action figure would be able to sit in a chair like in the movie. Dad used a strap of a Clone Trooper gun to fabricate Debnoli's belt. After the head was painted and the robe was comletely pinstriped, the figure was complete and ready to be photographed.

Debnoli was a marksman who frequented Chalmun's Cantina in Mos Eisley. He sought revenge on the Galactic Empire for impounding his ship. From time to time, Debnoli worked with Bron Burs, a former commando from the planet Nentan.

In 0 BBY, the smuggler Gela Yeens, who also worked for Jabba Desilijic Tiure as a debt collector, was searching for him.[4] Debnoli was present in the Mos Eisley cantina when Greedo was killed by Han Solo.

The material that we use to create a customizable Cantina floor can be obtained from Amazon. It works wonderfully for a modular playset like this that lets you build your display however you like.

Damono Deomaley was another human from the Mos Eisley Cantina we wanted to add to our shelf display. A John Evergrey headcast of Damono put us off to a great start. One the headcast was painted, all that was needed to add the character to the collection was some minor sculpting onto the arms, legs and torso a Farmboy Luke Skywalker action figure. We then used the fabric from one of Dad's old socks to make the soft goods and our Cantina had one more patron in its display. We almost made his robe from a basmati rice bag, but the texture of the fabric wasn't working on camera. I did the figure's body sculpt, both Dad and I took turns painting parts of the figure, Dad made the soft goods robe and then I made the robe's lapels to finish the figure.

Damono Deomaley was a short, male humanoid who was present in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina on the planet Tatooine shortly before the Battle of Yavin. While he was in the cantina, the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and the former moisture farmer Luke Skywalker entered looking for a pilot, but ended up getting into a fight with two other patrons.

I feel very privileged to have received this commission, as it is for a convention this October! Those Star Wars fans who were lucky enough to go to the Galactic Starcuiser Hotel while it was in operation are now holding a convention in its honor, known as Halcy-Con. One of the convention organizers reached out to me asking for a list of custom action figures which will be on display at the convention on a background created by The Cardboard Galaxy. Captain Keevan was one of the action figures on this list.

The recipe for this figure was quite simple. The entire body of the figure came from a Vintage Collection Cara Dune, and I sculpted the head myself using Blender. The hat was from a Naboo Royal Security Officer, but was modified to fit Keevan's head. The entire surface of the Cara Dune figure was dremeled down to remove all features. I then sculpted everything by hand, starting with the pale blue undershirt, then I rolled out a thin flat sheet of procreate and shaped it over her when it was half-cured to create the tail of her overcoat. Finally, I hand sculpted the boots.

Riyola Keevan was first mentioned in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which opened to guests at Disneyland on May 31, 2019.[4] She was featured as a character in the immersive hotel experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser,[2] which opened in 2022 at the Walt Disney World Resort.[10] In audition sides posted for the character by The Walt Disney Company, Keevan thanks guests for assisting in the apprehension of outlaws on the Halcyon and makes reference to having served aboard the vessel for twenty years.[11]Riyola Keevan[6] was a Pantoran female[2] starship captain for Chandrila Star Line. She served aboard the MPO-1400 Purgill-class star cruiser Halcyon during the war between the First Order and the Resistance.

Riyola Keevan previously served as quartermaster on the Halcyon, and was assigned as Leia Organa's personal attaché during her honeymoon voyage with her husband Han Solo.[3] By 34 ABY,[7] she became Captain of the ship.[5] Shortly after handling a pirate raid by Crimson Jack,[8] she served as captain during the Halcyon's 275th anniversary voyage to Batuu. As the voyage began, the ship was boarded by Lieutenant Harman Croy and his troops of the First Order under suspicion of Resistance activity.[9]

A note was posted in Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu advertising a mechanic position on board the Halcyon and instructing applicants to contact Keevan.[4] Strong, charismatic, and worldly, she was dedicated to her duty as captain and earned deep respect from her crew.[2]

Recently, I posted a Captain Keevan which was commissioned for a display at Halcy-Con, but that wasn’t the only figure. For the second figure of my Galactic Starcruiser set, I made Gaya, the Twi’Lek diva who entertains guests at the Galactic Starcruiser Hotel. The convention organizer who commissioned the figures also informed me that they will be on display at on a background created by The Cardboard Galaxy.

The recipe for this figure was simply a General Leia Organa in her ceremonial dress from the Black Series Collection. Underneath her regalia is a mostly featuureless body, which was very easy to sculpt onto. I modeled the head-sculpt myself using Blender, which I printed and then painted. Because more than one actor portrayed the character we were asked to create a generic headsculpt for the character.

The soft goods were the biggest challenge making this figure. I made a trip to the fabric store to find the perfect textile, which happened to be an indigo satin. To make the pleats in the dress, I had to fold each section and stitch it. The light trim was sculpted out of ProCreate. The graphic on her cape was hand painted, which was challenging because if I made a mistake or painted outside the lines in any way, the fabric would be ruined and I would have to start fresh with a new piece of fabric. Thankfully I pulled it off on my first attempt! My great, great-grandfather was a fashion designer, so maybe it runs in the family.

We hope you appreciate the newest addition to the Galactic Starcruiser collection!

Nizuc Bek was a male human who was in the palace of the crime lord Jabba the Hutt prior to the Battle of Endor. Bek was hired by Jabba the Hutt to guard celebrities visiting Jabba's palace. He was assigned to protect Sy Snootles, the Max Rebo Band's lead vocalist. When Luke Skywalker arrived and failed to persuade Jabba to release Han Solo and Chewbacca, he use the Force to possess Bek's DL-18 blaster pistol in an attempt to kill the Hutt.

A Velkin Tezeri action figure was used to create our Nizuk Bek. We used a head and accessories we received in the mail from Outer Rim Traders. We then painted the items and modified the head with some soft goods and a scrap of plastic from some old plastic robes. We then repositioned the holster . the canteen then sculpted a rectangular pouch onto the belt of the Velkin Tezeri torso.

I made this version of this character back in 2021, and at customs for the kid I prefer not to tread the same ground twice, but work is work!

The base for this figure was a Clone Wars Commander Ponds. I used a Dremel to subtract from the shoulder pads, Breastplate, and Dorsal plate in preparation for the sculpting that was needed. I also cut the left arm below the elbow, where I then attached the slicing plugin sculpted by Aude's Workshop. The head was also sculpted by Aude's Workshop, but I modified it so the visor could lift, revealing Echo's face inside. I sculpted using Green Stuff, but the arms and legs I was able to leave mostly unchanged.

Just like the first time, color picking for this figure was a challenge. His pallet is made up of many different shades of grey, and it's important for each color to be distinct from the others. With a careful eye and thoughtful paint mixing, this figure really came to life!

Doing Echo again for this commission has given me an interesting look into my own development as an artist over the years, and I'm very happy with how this came out! If I have to make him again in the future, I'm curious as to how my skills will improve.

Back in March, I received an email that would change the course of my year. I was asked to create Gaya, Captain Keevan, and Ouannii as vintage collection action figures for Halcy-Con, a Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser superfan event. At the time of creating the figures, I felt very honored that my work would be on display at this event. Shortly after finishing Gaya, my client asked me if I would be interested in going to Halcy-Con myself and speaking in a panel about my work, and I couldn’t resist!

On Wednesday, October 2nd, my father and I landed in Orlando, Florida. Our first stop was to get some lunch at a sushi restaurant called Wave, and after that we stopped at a lovely comic shop, Blackbird Comics & Coffee House. While unaffiliated with Halcy-Con, it was nice to connect with some local Star Wars fans before speaking at the convention.

Sushi by Wave Sushi Maitland.

We spent our next day in Orlando at Disney's Galaxy’s Edge because the convention center was conveniently located 10 minutes away from Hollywood Studios. While I visited Galaxy’s Edge once in 2021, Darth Daddy had never been to a Disney Park before. Dad enjoyed the rides very much as well as the in-universe food. We took almost a hundred photos while we were there.

video_object.png

After visiting the park, we returned to the convention center where the organizers were hosting a Day-Zero social event. This lively soirée set the tone for the following days of exciting programming with insightful panels, more socials, and charity events. Attending Halcy-Con, a few things really stood out to me. Darth Daddy and I were very surprised by how many other attendees at the convention were crafters like us. The creativity of the community that attended was as boundless as their love for Star Wars. I personally was very happy to discover how inclusive this convention was. The diverse crowd all enjoyed the welcoming environment the hosts created.

Friday, I spoke at the "How I Became a Better Crafter" panel alongside talented artisans Beth FitzGibbon of Saja Records, June Swords of SwordsandStitches, and Joyce Clark. All of the panelists are exceptional crafters with diverse crafting backgrounds, and I feel extremely privileged to have spoken alongside them sharing our knowledge of crafting with the community.

On Saturday, I spoke at "The Unmade Toys of Galactic Starcruiser" panel that brought me to the convention. Bobb Collins of Cardboard Galaxy, Max Frey of Regal Robot and myself shared our Halcyon themed custom creations with the help of moderator Martin Smith, who organized the convention. It was a real honor to be able to discuss how I brought Ouannii, Captain Keevan and Gaya to life. Being able to speak about my craft and my process with the fans was so gratifying. I appreciated the chance to share what goes on behind the scenes, and I hope that doing so inspired some people to try crafting themselves.

It isn't a Star Wars convention without a Mandalorian present.

Galactic Starcruiser custom action figures created by Lego Master Builder Elizabeth Baker. These were her first ever custom figures. Elizabeth scanned already existing action figures then manipilated the sculpts in a modeling program where she took away what she didn't need then digitally added her own sculpt onto the scans to customize them into some of our favorite Halcyon characters. Most impressive!

We were so impressed with all the Makers at this convention. The swag that so generously circulated throughout this event was just so impressive! Love the crocheted droid made by Nicole and her husband for the event.

I want to sincerely thank Martin Smith for inviting me to speak at this convention, and I want to thank his team for organizing this event. The fans truly appreciate what you have gone through to create these spaces for our community to thrive in. Ta'bu E-Tay!
