You’ve got a nice set up.

Deep Six was announced today. The Arctic HISS is up for MTO, so I guess Haslabs can be sold MTO down the road… thinking the Razor Crest could be repainted since it looks to be in the Mandalorian movie next year. And the Swamp Skier was hinted at. Hopefully not another Zartan since I have 3, but maybe Zanya? Or Junk Dealer Zartan?

Thanks. I'm going to make a more permanent display as soon as I can. Probably sometime after the first of the year.
I'm on the fence about the Arctic HISS. I need to get the original one first. I'm not sure how I feel about Deep Six. I of course had him and the SHARC as a kid. If they make him more streamlined/modern and the SHARC is cool then maybe. What about the Swamp Skier piloted by Zanzibar?

I'll be passing on the Arctic HISS, but I kind of dig the kit-bashed driver (some people don't like it).

Yeah, I'm curious how Deep Six will turn out. He has to be a deluxe figure, but I hope Hasbro does it right. Not sure how to do it. Sailor that goes into a shell?

I think the Swamp Skier will likely come with Zanya since she's been name-dropped already. We'll see if it's her or another Zartan.

I've been tempted from time to time to get a specific figure. I'm not a huge fan of the idea of Sgt. Slaughter in G.I. Joe. It's just too gimmicky for me. But Sgt. Slaughter outside of G.I. Joe doesn't bother me. So when Ollie's was getting Classified Slaughter figures, I looked around for him as a one-off purchase, but I never found him.
And . . . I've seen the Slaughter's Marauders version has been seen at Ross. If I see one, I may get him.

I had to get the oil changed on the car today. I decided to wander around Walmart while it was being done. The store I went to is one of the stores that has the aisle display. They did a massive restock. They had an entire peg of Torch and one of Grim Viper. They also had a ton of Snake Eyes and the polar bear 20251214_161619.jpg20251214_161622.jpg

Holiday haul part one- I've wanted to get Steeler and Short Fuze since they were announced. I was out and about today and found myself at the one Target in my area that actually had them in stock. Thanks to Christmas and birthday gift cards for Target, they came home with me. Also, they lowered the price to $44.9920251226_181055.jpg

Holiday haul part two-after my find at Target, I went across the street to the Walmart to use some cards there as well. These were three that I was interested in. Hopefully I'll get around to opening them this weekend 20251225_163254.jpg

I was able to open up my recent acquisitions earlier today. First up is the long anticipated two pack of Steeler and Short Fuze. These are some solid figures with great sculpts, paint apps, portraits, and accessories. I had two minor issues and sadly they were both with Short Fuze. First, I was unable to put his glasses on while he has his helmet on as shown in the box artwork. Not sure if it was me or not even possible. Second, for some reason they gave him a knife sheath and placed on his lower leg. On mine, it wouldn't stay up and kept sliding down preventing him from being able to stand. I just took it off20251227_101016.jpg

Finally, we have Grim Viper. This is a fantastic looking figure with cool accessories. Due to a couple of factors, I believe that Grim Viper is an individual like Copperhead, and not a rank and file trooper 20251227_162717.jpg

Question for the fellow Joe collectors out there; how do you display your Joes? I plan on getting mine on display soon after the first of the year.
Do you display loose figures in a basic, static display? Action scenes? Dioramas?

Glasses are a tricky thing with figures. I managed to get SF's glasses on him while wearing the helmet, but the temples are not aligned: ones normal, another goes up a bit. I believe I had to hold the front of the helmet apart as I slid it down... or maybe I used a toothpick as well to keep it in place. I had the same issues with Doc, but I ended up not putting a helmet on him in the end. I may end up doing the same with SF. The retro Baroness had little slats on the side of her head to keep them in place, which is nice and preferable to me, but I'm sure other people wouldn't like them if they want to display the figure without their glasses on as it would stand out. Of course, the glasses are made out of softer plastic so it's tough for them to stay on.

The knife sheaths are also issues. Leg holsters, too, tend slide down, wrist sheaths slid up. I try to get them to a point where their snug on the body part, but I'm sure after a while they'll slide wherever they want.

I like the look of the Grim Viper, too, but haven't gotten it. I actually cancelled the pre-order because I was getting hammered with incoming orders for several months and it was getting to be too much. Of course, Hasbro raised the price on them after I did that. I might pick it up later if it goes on sale.

Despite asking for the AWE Striker for Christmas, I did not get it. :(

I have most of mine in a Billy display with 10 levels, some of the big things are in Detlof cases. I wasn't sure how to display the figures. I was thinking of going by year at one point but didn't work for me since you might have one Dreadnok here, another there, so I decided to do kind of a hierarchy/factions route. I split the Billy in half (the doors, essentially with Joes on one side and Cobras on the other. Top shelf is OG13 Joes and Cobra Command (CoCo, Destro, Baroness, Bludd), next few shelves I put some favorite Joes with Cobras being the next step of the command hierarchy, etc. One half-shelf has Dreadnoks, another half-shelf has Iron Grenadiers. One row had the various ninjas from both sides... I have some space to move things around, especially with the Nemesis Enforcer being taller than the shelf I wanted him on....

It'll be interesting to see how you do yours.

Picked up two more figures to add to my collection. Cobra Commander was in box and Destro was loose and complete. It was as if it was 2020 again since they were each $19.99. I am up to 23 figures now. 20260110_154941.jpg

It's been quiet for me lately on the figure front, but if I can find a Grim Viper for the old $25 mark, I'd pick it up... I think I'd even pick the retro generic Joe as well.

One of the Target stores in my area still had the wave with the Grim Viper as of 2 weeks ago and still $24.99. I haven't been there recently to see if it has been reset yet. So far, I only know of one store that has.
As for the Retro Green Shirt, I saw one in the wild at a GameStop awhile ago. They wanted $29.97 for him. The pricing at GameStop is crazy. They had some Joes as low as $23.74 and some priced at $29.97 and the Snake Eyes and polar bear at the ridiculous price of $80

I added two more to the collection today. Found these at a local comic book store that I hadn't been to in years. I found out from a fellow collector that they carried GI Joe Classified figures. Now I just need Zartan and the Dreadnoks are complete (for now)20260207_151324.jpg
