Green Limbed Troopers?

Hi guys,

I’ve bought a few of these FlameTroopers from non-eBay sources a couple years ago & the troopers were the usual white.

The last one I got from eBay a few weeks ago & it has green legs & head.

I bought the Assault Walker a month ago from Amazon & the trooper has the same problem but this guy even has a green gun!

I’ve noticed the FlameTrooper loose on AliExpress with the green limbs & put it down to being a bootleg. But now I’m very confused.

Anybody know what’s going on?

Unfortunately some figures are made of cheaper plastic, and with direct contact to UV lighting, it gets far worse. As the plastic breaks down, it can also cause discoloring, but these shouldn't be so discolored for the year they came out. I have a TFA trooper that's very slightly off, but not nearly this bad. Do you know if they were exposed to a lot of UV light or heat?

I’ve seen yellowing before but never greening.

Some of my TFA stuff has done the same thing, and they have never been in the sun. It’s just junky plastic. :?

If you're a carded collector, you're SOL, but if you open them, they can be washed and the residue may partially rinse off, as sometimes its an oily film. The yellowing / greening is the breakdown of the plastic, and sometimes it can be minimized with soap & water. The same applies to figures with "frosting" or even those that have developed tackiness. Yellowing over many years, such as with Kenner figures, can be chemically treated to reduce discoloration, but the process continues to breakdown the figure further. In all reality, it cant be totally avoided.
