Opinions on Clone Wars Geonosians

Ok... I'm finding it hard to not like the new Clone Wars Geonosian that is in the new Target 2-pks... I have not bought any yet, and have made very few animated purchases...

But then Jayson just posted a new Toyguide teaser...

What do you guys think? I'm considering getting a couple of these... they seem pretty close to realistic styling...

Jayson, when you do the full guide update, are you going to include any comparison shots with the Geonosians from the realistic lineup?

yeah i grabbed em. They look sweet I haven't done a side by side with the realistic line but I think they are great update especially from the the old AOTC genosians

I took the chest piece off the Undead Geonosian and gave it to the living version from the Target 2pack

the undead one doesn't miss it, but it looks a little wrong on the other bug
not sure how to explain that, sorry

my opinion is: get them both!

I have to agree this is a really nice figure in person and yeah does look like it would pass for realistic, the articulation is also done quite well.

Yeah I am surprised we did not get one carded. I am glad I picked up the Geo/Special Ops set. I could only buy one and grabbed this one and sure enough they have sold out. The two pegs left are all Arf/Battle Droid left.

I wound up getting 4x of the Target set, mostly because i wanted both figures so it was win/win. I guess I'm just programmed by Hasbro to expect multipack figures to have a 50-50 ratio of want/donotwant. I love the Sep Gunnery mount that comes with it as well, even if it is a little tall for the geos. My only gripe about the Geos is that they should have wings...i mean, they have peg-holes in their backs for wings, so where are the wings right? Otherwise, they are awesome!

It is the same mold that was originally used for the dead one and he had the wings hence the holes in the back same for his chest piece. I had read somewhere in a book not sure where but not all bugs have wings either. They have this class system or some such but the ones in the 2 packs are the winglesss variety.

oh yeah, i know they have drones (wingless) and warriors (winged) but if ya got holes back there, pack in something to interface with it...if they really must be wingless, then some kind of decorative armor or something i guess. Otherwise it looks like something is supposed to go there, but didn't....which gives the toy a sort-of "unfinished" vibe.

Not at all, pop in the episode "Landing at Point Rain" there are wingless drones everywhere - flying fighters, speeders, firing cannons, even firing the gun that came in the 2-pack...they are a significant part of the fighting force on Geonosis.
