Nice darthapathy! No TVC at all in my Targets or Walmarts these days.

Empty pegs begging to be filled...

I keep striking out at my Ross lately. I get there 2-3x per week when they open. Lots of new toys almost daily, but I have only seen one TVC figure since December.

I know they are hitting, just not sure if my store isn't receiving them or other collectors are gobbling them up.

I wonder if they're making it to the pegs, considering how many collectors are unfortunately also resellers. I remember years ago, some scalpers would make deals with retail employees to get all the stock before it made it out, at least according to an employee when I inquired about bare pegs, lol. It's one of the elements of the hobby that has always disgusted me. I know some people hoard for other reasons, like army building - just wish collectors would look out for each other more often. I've only seen a few TVC figures at Ross, but they were already figures I owned (save for Vel, yuck!), so I left them behind, hopefully another legit collector found them, and not a scalper.

figures are making it to the pegs. just like anything else, you have to educate yourself with their stocking habits as well as what volume store they are. I got to know which stores will hit the same day versus some that hit a day or two before others. there is always a pattern.

My store is putting stuff out almost daily. It seems to be sometimes when the store opens there is new stock, but employees are randomly stocking in the day too, I've seen it many times. It just depends. There's luck involved too with being there at the right time.

I've hit my Ross at least 30 times this year. So far, I've seen just one TVC figure.

But tomorrow is another day.

I was off early from work today, so I went on a search for figures at Ross. I hit up two stores and found absolutely nothing.

I did stop at a Target, and picked up a Krrsantan that was 70% off. Not sure what I'll do with him, but I'll think of something.

I finally got out to the nearby Ollies and that's a pretty sad sight. It's a little disorganized and the same Star Wars stuff in 2 different aisles. Mostly Black Series (Archive and regular) and Kenobi retro. I had hoped to see if any Joes were there, but nothing from Classified (I probably have most of the stuff anyway). There was a 5 Below nearby so I hit that, too, but they had 0 Hasbro product, so I'll take that off my list of places to visit. I guess the Sunset Hills Ross was closed to make room for the gigantic sporting goods store otherwise I would have made a stop. Oh well. I guess there's a reason I don't make man store runs.

The Ollie’s in my town is a bit messy, but they have a ton of TBS and retro stuff.

Five Below seems to have more “crap” than anything now. My wife and I went in there recently and it just looked like junk toys in the toy isle.

five below is on par in getting stuff from mattel/hasbro like tj maxx/marshalls. meaning. ross gets 95% of it and usually 99.99% of sw, tramsformers, joe, etc..

Ross is definitely not getting that high of a percentage of discounted SW items, as the Ollies near me has literally hundreds of TBS and Retro figures, plus some TLJ and Solo leftovers. TVC doesn't last at either store though, it's hoarded near instantly.

I hit that Ollie's last week. That store sucks! Wish we could get one of the mega stores like I've seen in Indiana and Tennessee

Should have swung by my place since it's kind of close.

I didn't know there were scales of stores. I was surprised when I went there that it wasn't in the spot where the Tuesday Morning used to be (which is now a Dollar Tree) and that there's an Aldi's there as well. There was a Mexican place I had thought about trying but that's no longer there. I guess that area's changing. But I digress... I was just happy it was a big place, but disappointed it looked nothing like the pictures I've seen posted, so I guess the scale thing explains it.

we don't have ollies out here. as a lot of you on the east coast/south region don't have ross. so the facts I presented hold true from the west coast to roughly the mid west. ollies is concertrated in a few states and not coast to coast, like many discount stores are. and, ross is a lot cheaper on stuff then ollie's.

This is the scene at most of the Target stores in my area. Even before the sale, the Star Wars TVC pegs were always empty and they stocked the wrestling figures there. Is it because the previous DPCI ended months ago?20241207_084202.jpg

that's the new dpci for tvc. half off.
They're only half off if they're in stock :(
Seriously though, the employee that I asked about it with wasn't any help. It confused them that the sale tag was on the wrong peg. When they searched the DPCI, it said that there was supposed to be 8 units in stock. When they went back to look for them, they couldn't find them. Their response then was either they were back stocked wrong or somewhere in the store. Either way, they couldn't help me.
