hmmmm... I think it is weird that he looks so similar to Brother from the Clone Wars already. Too me it feels a bit unoriginal.

At least the vehicles side looks like it could be promising. I'd love to get a new troop transport.

Agreed, seems like there could be some great promise with vehicles - they just need to NOT be animated looking... and I hope that Hasbro actually weathers some of these... the "too clean" vehicles really plagued the Clone Wars line for me.

Q&As says these will be animated but closer to realistic style the CWs, sadly confirmed they will be 5 POA. Bad idea Hasbro.

Glad to see them use vintage Kenner designs. I thought about picking up a Troop transport for a while now, but will wait to see if Hasbro makes one.

What you guys think of the IMP driver and the Wolf ship?

During the Star Wars Rebels panel at NYCC over the weekend, Lucasfilm revealed the merchandise line look for 2014. Thanks to a great photo (shot by Rich Alot over at Rebelscum) I was able to retouch it a bit to give a clearer representation of what we will see in stores in a few short months.

i like the kinda "gritty" look, but it feels almost too close to the Legacy Collection. Like they reused the helmet, and just added some more detail and color.

I'm an opener, but I really like the packaging. Do we know what sort of product will be in the packaging on the right side of the image? Deluxes or some sort of vehicle?

As for the figures being 5POA, is there any hope they will at least abandon the T-crotches and not have all the holsters/etc. molded to the legs?

But more importantly, will there be Rebels Angry Birds???????!!!!?????

although im not a fan animated style figures did fair with the CW line so i can see them going that route with rebels. as far as 5poa, wow, thats absolute garbage......if these current 5poa figures are already in big lots and they are packing shelves with no movment, in my area at least, they are clearly a low point and poor choice of product just like the angry birds crap that is dripping off the shelves and not moving. ruining a whole new line based on a series that everyone is excited about by giving it the poorest production value is beyond me.....on the plus side if this is the route they go i'll be saving alot of money,

It's Hasbro, they'll be in denial and say 5POA works. Only thing i've seen moving off shelves if the TBS, sadly there is barely any of it on shelves but least what is is moving a little.

Black Series has sold better in my area - but I have to admit, the $6 figures are moving decent too - other than Obi Wan and Mace Windu.

On any note, I really feel that 5POA is a huge letdown for Rebels.

I would find it acceptable if it was 9 pts of articulation and $7 or $8 per figure, kind of like the quality of Jar Jar and Amidala from Movie Heroes.

- ball joint head (1)
- swivel shoulders (2)
- ball joint elbows (2)
- swivel wrists (2)
- swivel waist (1)
- swivel hips (1)

Looking forward to seeing pics... but so far it sounds like a really weak move by Hasbro. I just hope more than anything, this isn't the direction they take for Episode VII figures. Yikes.

I bet the show will have some of those Z-95 Headhunter ships (if I got the name wrong, sorry) and a vehicle will be made

Hey thats a good possibility. It would meet that "aggressive" criteria Hasbro ikes to meet. But I could potentially see them get stupid and make it small scale.... with giant firing missles!!!

But we're all forgetting Hasbro logic. They'd say something like this: "The Z-95 Headhunter just looks too much like an X-wing and, in an effort to not confuse the casual consumer, it won't be produced. Yes, we know it's cool-looking and aggressive, but our minds are made up."

Then we all remember just how many Jedi star fighters are available on retail shelves and rush out to buy 6-7 of them! Yay!

Hasbro produced a line of 3.75 G.I. Joes a couple of years ago that were an amalgam of Animated and Realistic styles. I never saw the cartoon they were based on and I never bought any of the figures, but I remember checking them out several times to see if they would make for good custom fodder. The pictures on the cardback were obviously from the animated show but the figures themselves weren't overly cartoonish. I think they would have fit in with regular G.I. Joes. Maybe if Hasbro would do something along those lines collectors would be happy with figures that are "close enough" to their realistic collections and kids would still be able to recognize their favorite characters from the show. :)

That is a great point. I really liked how they handled the GI JOE Renegades line! It was just too hard to find some of the stuff in the 30th line overall...

As a fan of the Kenner animated Droids & Ewoks lines, I think this line has potential, even at 5 POA. Since they'll be sculpted to look like the cartoon characters, there is definitely a possibility that I will buy into the line. I also enjoyed the original CW (Tartakovsky) figures and the entire CW line based on the Filoni series. Had they decided to go realistic, and sculpt them like the Legends, I doubt I'd have much interest in them. I'm actually looking forward to seeing them at this point...

I'm just not wanting the dang t-crotches more than anything... man, I hate those things. And I'm thinking if these are too stylized, it's going to limit the audience.

In a perfect world, we'd see at least one wave of Black Series filled with high quality sculpts/articulation to go along side the launch.

Imagine 12 figures in The Black Series, which is just one wave (and maybe later a repack or two later)...

- New Stormtrooper x 1
- New Rebel Trooper x 1
- New Darth Vader x 1
- Inquisitor x 1
- TBD Jedi Master x 1
- TBD Jedi Padawan x 1
- TBD x 1
- TBD x 1
- TBD x 1
- TBD x 1
- TBD x 1
- TBD x 1

Then, if Hasbro wants to product several waves of 5POA figures, so be it. But make their heads ball jointed please.
