I put together a figure last night, now need to paint it! Another experiment with soft goods... So hopefully I'll get it done in time for this month -- - though it's certainly not as creative as some of the designs that ya'll have already come up with!! Hopefully I'll get back on track with something good for next month.

-Chewie-

Justin, good work (as always) on your two entries. It seems like every month you lead off with a good, solid figure that kind of sets the tone for each month's yakfinities, and Macuunsa is no different.

The parts you used look extremely well blended, with the GM legs/shins and the McQ snowtrooper torso. Those particular pieces of armor have a larger, heavier feel to them, and fit in so nicely with a Trandoshan. The paint job however, is what really makes this figure great. The colors just seem to be right for this guy. The yellow and blue is easily a prequelish look, it could just as easily be seen in Jabba's palace. Although he's meant to be a cross breed, I think he'd look great as a background character, almost like a slight -tougher- variation in the Trandoshan species.

Glaucomis - This guy is definitely one of those creeps you'd prolly try to avoid. He's big, ugly, and you don't want to get caught staring him in the eye. The paint job looks good with the neutrals, but I'm glad you added the brighter colors to the bandoleer/harness. In short, this guiy is what I like to refer to as a "freak mongrel!"

-Robo-Quack-

Your Beed Raider is hilarious! Something about the expression - -- if that can be said about the Tusken -- - is so funny. Almost like in some twisted star wars way, this guy just happened to be walking by a "combinator punishment ray" when the pod-racer announcer suddenly pops up, to be combined with dire consequences. Certainly makes you feel sorry for the guy. LOL

-Horse_Head-

Phaun Sa'Ter, sir, is incredible work. While it certainly has a creepiness, which, in truth the whole cross -breeds theme entails, this one is just such a nice piece of work. Like Chewie mentioned it has a Greek mythology look, sort of a Faun meet Gladiator and welcome to the Star Wars universe. I would have never dreamed of even trying to combine the Kybuck legs with a humanoid figure, but it really works out in this case. Great job painting on this one... the armor looks so good with the muted greens and blues. I don't know if you intended it or not, but the green almost look like copper when it's gotten a patina over time from exposure to the elements. How big is this guy compared to normal humans? I'd love to see a side-by-side pic!

-ARS30-

Allen - I really like the job you've done with the Minotaur twins... I was wondering what you were going to come up with, and I must say excellent job! I enjoy seeing Jedi that look like they could rely on more than just a lightsaber in a fight if it came down to it. What did you use as a base for these figures? Did you sculpt the sleeves on each one?

Great work with the softgoods and accessories for these guys, gives them an earthy toughness... They don't need no stinkin' Jedi tunics!! :D Again, good job!

-Super_Commando-

I love your Acklay-Man! Nice job to find what seems like a flub in customizing and making into a funny, yet effective custom. Good paint job on this guy - -- the face has a lot of expression, almost "Are you kidding? My mother was an Acklay?!!" You know, this guy almost screams to be let loose in the old cantina, kind of kitschy-looking like so many of the early OT aliens. Good job!! 8)

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I have been kicking that idea around for a few months now... so all I really had to do was finalize a few parts and paint it. I was just happy the paint colors look good together... that is my weakest area IMO. But now that you mention it, it does have a very oxidized copper look to it.

Here is a side-by-side with TAC Vader #1 ... Sa'Ter has a full head on him and measures in at almost five inches tall.

The Abomination of Raxus Prime
Just prior to the Clone Wars, Count Dooku, experimented with his new sith talents taught to him by Palpatine. He collected specimens for a dark hybrid program. After a number of experiments, one succeeded. The Abomination was a created by the merging of Gand, Quarren, Aqualish, Tweilek and Geonosian physiology. The creature at first was very primal. As it turned out, due to some odd chance the creature developed a way of absorbing knowledge and memories from victims it consumed. By the time of the Clone Wars it had developed a suprisingly impressive intellect and shown force sensitivity. Keeping to the code of the Bane, the creature was not taught in the ways of the Sith and its secrets, but however given a twisted and limited knowledge of jedi techniques. The Abomination was locked away in stasis hidden somewhere on Raxus Prime. It was to be released if anything ever happened to Dooku. When word eventualy made it back to CIS agents still on Raxus Prime the creature was unleashed. It slayed and consumed most the organic CIS agents and destroyed the Droids. Upon the deactivation of the droid armies, The Abomination went about reactivating a number of them to serve him and with the resources of a world of junk, built his own double bladed light saber.
Many beleive the creature to just be a legend. The sentients of Raxus Prime know better...

Recipe:
Head: Custom Sculpt
Torso and Upper Arms: Umpass Stay
Lower Arms and Lower Legs: Sun Fac
Chain/Lock: Chap Mei "Bad Guyz" figure
Belt: Umpass Stay
Upper Legs: Galactic Marine
Lightsaber: two vader sabers sculpted together
Loincloth thing: Ep2 Jedi (name eludes me)

Unfortunately the Galactic Marine legs never liked to stay forward or back so the stance is limited...

Horse Head - -- Thanks for the comparo shot. Looks great, not quite as big as I was thinking, but actually, that makes it even better!

Straxus, I need to comment on your creation later, but what a great job sculpting a CRAZY looking character!

Whew! Finally got down and made a custom, this one's more of a humanoid as you'll see. After the demise of Jabba the Hutt, Rystáll left the planet Tatooine to follow her dream of becoming a mainstream music artist. Although she did not make the big time herself, her human-mixed daughter, Riyanna did. With the fall of the Empire, a new resurgence of the arts sprang up from Coruscant to shine once again. At the center of this, was Riyanna - leading the way not only as one of the best operetta singers, but as a hostess for many art functions. Through Rystáll's coaching and guidance, Riyanna emerged as a primary leader in bringing the galaxy back to it's unifying cultured roots.

Okay, that's kinda a silly story, but she kinda had a celebrity look to her. :?

Here's the pics, and a renewed Coruscant holo announcing her concert tour. lol

Thats really cool! I love the hologram effect!
The story works great.
Though looking at the figure, the theme from the Jem cartoon is going though my head... (Hey it was on inbetween Robotix and Inhumanoids, give me a break...)

Whats the recipe?

Straxus - -- That abomination you created is really amazing. The base parts you used all seem to come together beautifully, topped by a masterpiece of sculpting in that head. You really were able to bring in a lot of features and characteristics of the species you named off. While this guy is already pretty scary looking, to think that he/it?! has the intelligence to amass his own army and create his own lightsaber? Err, let's uh, test the Death Star on Raxus Prime, and hopefully he'll still be planet-side. Nice job on the painting, really good colour palette and minimal weathering. You know, this guy kind of has the same feel as a >crazy< leader - -- not unlike the idea behind the concept of a Grievous character. While this guy's much more organic, still gets the same effect.

Thanks for the comments on my custom. I'm not familiar with Jem -- - though I was wondering if it wouldn't be too much anime kinda feel or something of that sort. Oh well, seems like a lot of the AOTC looks were a derivative of some of those styles. So this gal should fit nicely in say, the Outlander Club.

Oh, and here's the recipe (don't make fun of my doll-sourced parts!!! They're from a local junk shop where I get a lot of good cheap custom stuff)

Head - Pirates Liz Swann deluxe black outfit combined with hair from I think maybe a polly-pocket kind of thing (it had a magnet in it to attach to said doll's head).

Torso - upper from Joe's Lady Jaye and ROTS Aayla belly, arms from ROTS Padme put on Jaye's o-ring joint.

Legs were re-positioned Liz Swann green outfit on ROTS Aayla modified pelvis.

Finally the soft goods came from some doll I think where it was supposed to be easily cut and modified. It has an elastic-y feel to it, and was basically a tube of fabric that I just fiddled around with until I got the right look. Finally this was topped off by a ROTS Palpy cloak cut down to form a collar.

Thanks again!
