:D Horse head - wow!

That is such a great custom, its different yet it works - he strikes me as like one of those skinny mafia guys with names like "jimmy the snitch" or like Joe Pesci in goodfellas - psycho nuts.

Chewie I cant remember on which thread it was said but I totally agree, Toaroff V.S Ralbarr would be like Arnie V.S Sly in their heyday - you just gotta do it!

All of these are so good, dunno if I have any brute types but I cant wait to see whats next!

Horse_Head, that guy rocks! Poof's head with those goggles works perfectly--the hands are fantastic, and you put the whole kit-and-kaboodle together so well it really looks like it came right out of the package! And using a toothpick for a weapon--it looks totally convincing: the work you did on the handle looks really intricate. Great work!
I gotta say, so far this is probably my favorite month--totally SOLID!

SKOO BAK is really cool... kind of humorous too, never would imagine that species in that light, but that makes it all the more "Star Wars" - great addition to this month!

Wow... thanks for the kudos... as usual there is a touch of humor in all my entries... and this was my first real cut and glue custom... all the others were simple parts swaps. :)

Jordan, killer Talz custom. I really like it, great use of the Amidala hair clips.

Horse Head, Skoo Bak is awesome, I love that last pic with his hand reaching toward the camera! AWESOME!!!

Chewie, those are some awesome brutes!! Rosnik is cool, but Toaroff takes the cake!!!

Sounds really cool sambuca! Looking forward to seeing it - and Jordan for some reason I can't view the video, but maybe it's just my work PC blocking it.

I don't believe we had announced what prizes would be this month - the winnner will receive the following -

So. Cal
hey guys. it's been a while since i've participated in the yakfinities challenge. mostly because there were conscutive droid themes and my droid fodder is pretty slim. but i'm going to get back into it with this month!

jordan - nice brute, with the robin hood muftak. i really like shoulder armor. good job.

chewie - i commented inmore detail in your customs thread, but your brutes are definetley awsome, great work!

horsehead - very creative use of the yarel poof. as was sais that isn't a spices that you usually think of in that capacity. good stuff!

mines not to fancy, but it's for a dio i have.

=Narroyyo= Cantina Owner & Bartender

Narroyyo is a well off Wookie. He left Kashyykk at a very young age as a traveler, seeking excitment and has had good fortune. He is a skilled Sabac player and a wise investor and hase even opened his own establishment called the "Mad Claw Cantina". It's a little on th eold side, not very glamerous or extravagant, but the "Mad Claw" is a favorite among upper class and low lifes alike. Narroyyo has his own security crew and 2 employees. Even with his secutrity crew, Narroyyo tends to settle disputs and fights in his Cantina his self, and this Wookie, like all others, is not to be taken lightly..........

Very cool entries so far, and has it already been a year? Wow! Time sure flies, doesn't it?

I wanted to make a brute too, with a Beast figure as a base, but I don't have a head that fits  . Damn.

Can a Jawa be a brute as well?

EvilEwok, I don't see why not. I always saw that one really tall Jawa in the movie and thought, "I'll bet he beats the crap out of the other Jawas, just for the heck of it." Anything can be a brute, provided there is someone/something smaller than it for it to act "brutish" towards. Just my opinion, though.

jedistyle, nice Wookiee brute. :) Where did the coat come from???

I'll be putting the finishing touches on mine tonight, so maybe I'll post it tonight or more likely tomorrow.

:D Hey all

Since I skipped the janitor & sandcrawler droid months I thought I'd best add my Snoova repaint to brutes!

It seems that opinions are mixed about this one but I reckon the wookie/bounty hunter aspect makes him a confirmed brute!

*PLUS he has the cheek to wear a mullet whilst being threatening*

raziel, that is pretty darn good. I like the soft goods cape/cloak thing, it adds a lot to Snoova's overall appearance. Good to see you back in the Yakmix again.

Here is my entry for this month...
KURN DRAYGOTH, big hairy brute

Kurn is a Fraantiir from the Outer Rim planet Polsqa.
This large brute operates outside the law, and lives in a hideout
in one of the many swamps on Polsqa.
Kurn1B.jpg

Kurn Draygoth enjoys his privacy and will beat and kill to preserve
his territory. Shortly after the Imperial capture of Kashyyyk,
a band of Wookiee warriors sought refuge on Polsqa.
They had the horrible luck to choose the same swamp to hide in that
Kurn Draygoth chose as his hideout. To stay hidden, Kurn felt
that he had to kill the Wookiees. His Pulsar Rifle did the job.
Kurn2B.jpg

After hearing that some of their group had been shot, the Wookiees
attacked in full force. Kurn donned his traditional Fraantiir war
helmet and used his deadly Gowanna blade to wipe out all of the
Wookiees that dared to mess with him.
Kurn3B.jpg

Here is another shot of Kurn wearing his war helmet.
Kurn4B.jpg

Parts list:
Masters of the Universe Beast Man McDonalds Happy Meal Toy repainted
Pulse Blaster- Modified ROTS Wookiee Bowcaster with AOTC Plo Koon force effect
Gowanna blade- knife from Dexter Jettster
War helmet- helmet from McFarlane Monsters figure pack, Phantom of the Opera, I think

There ya go! Quite a big hairy brute, indeed!

My initial entry was going to be an ad hoc version of Montross from the Bounty Hunter video game. Afterwards, I felt I wanted to go more towards the "brute" than "thug" and ended up with this gorgeous creature from the Brody tribe of Karameesh.

A simple-minded creature, with absolutely no animosity or propensity to violence, Boroxanne was considered one of the most beautiful of her kind. Never ill-tempered, but after being enslaved and forced to pit-fight, she became enthralled with the fun and entertainment of battle, and treated it as a game.

She eventually broke free from her owner, who unfortunately did not completely break free from her, leaving a limb that still hangs from the metal wrist cuff - the only visual sign left of her prior enslavement.

While she wears little armor, Boroxanne was rarely injured due to her fur soaking up blaster fire, which just singed and matted up and made her all the tougher. She was present at the fight pit when Darth Tyrannus chose one Asajj Ventress as a trainee from the many fighters in the arena.

johnboy, that is awesome. I think that's my favorite so far this month, up there with Chewie's massive Toariff guy.

I am really liking this month, I didn't think it would be so COOL!!

Thanks guys.... I had the Sully in my parts box for the longest time, but never really came up with the right time to use him for anything - this seemed like the perfect opportunity (not to mention making him, into a her).

Jordan, Tufmak is hilarious... I love his hat, very creative! The look just fits him completely. I have to admit because of your work on him, I was more inspired to make something a little more comical.

Horse Head - Skoo Bak is very cool too. I like that you chose perhaps the least assuming "thug" creature, and made him look so aggressive. I just picture him riding up on a swoop, and like you said getting "protection money," perhaps from some pushover Jawas or something (unless Evil Ewok makes a thuglife Jawa!!).

Jedistyle - Narroyyo looks like he could handle the job of both barkeep and bouncer. I like the concept of having a no-nonsensical Wookiee serving drinks, fits in with the Star Wars universe. As always, nice paint apps, and vest/jacket addition.

Raziel - that Snoova repaint looks great. I've been tempted to try and create my own from one of the newer wookiees, but after seeing yours, I might just try it on an extra figure I have of that sculpt. The softgoods cape and additional armor bits are a drastic improvement on the overall look of the figure.

Sambuca - what can I say? Kurn looks the part, and can hold his own against a small army of wookiees... Very nice usage of a larger scale figure to make him to a big thuggy lug. Nice job!

Chewie... I think I posted earlier in the thread, but your Rosnik is still about my favorite so far.... The Dengar armor justs works so well with the Mustafar limbs.

Looking forward to seeing what else might show up for this month's customs!
