Ha! Great entry Shayford, I've always been a fan of your work. It's never easy coming up with humor that's actually funny when the subject is Star Wars, but you've always been able to do that. And of top of that, your image work is top notch... I can't even imagine what kind of quality you could amaze people with if you ever started up a photonovel series. Thanks for sharing that fantastic Halloween diorama with us.
Justin, thank you so much for the kind words. I always feel that I'm probably the only one laughing at my stuff. That's why I try to do a lot of detail in the diorama. I figure if the humor falls flat, someone will appreciate the diorama, and if that falls short, maybe someone will at least appreciate the light or photo itself. My own little three-tier failure prevention plan.
Regarding photonovels. . . I actually did make a 15-page comic book prototype of a Boba Fett story a few years ago. It was meant to be dark and edgy, but it had a lot of problems.
Here are a couple sample shots:
However, the exercise did get me interested in the comic book format which influenced my shift into humor. Since then I've been doing a lot of comic strip type stuff. So, in a way, I'm doing lighthearted "photonovels."
Thanks,
Stephen
