I've had an idea for an Aqualish for some time now, and it will fit perfectly in this month's YF. Already loosely assembled the various parts. Bit of Fixit 
and he's ready to go. Too bad I don't have any Po Nudo's, but Ponda Baba's head will suffice :wink:

Well, I checked Wookieepedia and believe they are
Plus, they're called "Aqualish" and have a head like a walrus :wink: And the vintage Walrus Man had finned feet, as opposed to the later issued Ponda Baba :wink:

I never really thought about it, but there are many amphibious aliens in the Star Wars Universe :shock:.
I to really like the Gungan too, Chewie. I don't know why, could be the parts going together or the color, but he just pops very well.

I'm trying to put together a pair of Mon Calamari, and have an idea for an original species, but don't know if it's going to come together or not.
Tiik Dar - Simple, but effective. The blue robes are a good contrast with his skin, and gives a good impression of something the Quarren would wear - without looking too senatorial.
Siobe - I really like this one a whole lot. the other day when I was first pulling some part and trying to piece together something for a female Calamari, I had those Marion pants out. After seeing yours, I've since changed and thinking of going a different route. but I love the colors and the whole outfit. Looks more ANH, than the later OT movies, which is really cool. Kind of like, "Here, wear these gloves, feet and mask over your normal '70's attire." Really like this one!
Gum Prod - This figure works as well as his name. And I'll agree that something about this one really works well. I'm not sure if it's the coloring, the name, or the parts, but they fuse so well together - -- giving a clean, organic look that it works well for the gungans. Also, I want to point out the fantastic work on his eyes. They really look alive, and give him character.
Mala Cander - Eh, I'm not really feeling this guy too much. Certainly not a bad figure for more background... And I think the paint apps on his face are really good. I'm thinking it may be the blue color, as I really just picture the Calamari as being reddish/orange/pink. And I know I've seen in some of the comics with color variations, but not too big on it, at least concerning these guys. Still, not a bad senate dio filler.

Great work Chewie. All solid customs, of course, but I think Gum and Mala have the most personality.
Mala's skin tone is perfect, I love the look of blue Mon Cals for some reason, and the range of blue tones on this one really looks great.
I gotta echo Johnboy, I think the almost "70's" feel of the outfit on Siobe really sells her as a legit ANH style character. I wonder if in another 20-30 years, all the costumes I think are cool now (say, for instance, the design of Vader's Secret Apprentice) will look just as dated as some of the original trilogy characters.
I've got a figure pieced together for this round, just gotta make myself find the patience to paint it.

Looks great darth_sidious! I love the Pablo Jill species... I hate how hard of a figure he is to get so it's definitely nice to see someone still use it for parts. I am in the middle of a trade for another of him for a custom, hope it gets here in time.
And you know, with the hood over the top of his head (which is in fact his chin, heh), he looks like an all new alien species.
