Ok, my third entry for this one... I present a bit of a different type of entertainer, this guy serves drinks.

Boils Gammel - A bartender who someday hopes to own his own bar, and earn galactic fame on par with Yak's Pub.

I'm kinda stuck on my Rodian Waitress. I'll have to post a WIP and get some suggestion on paint scheme.

I'm using on older POFT2 "pea-head" greedo for the head, and would like to do something interesting for the hair... any thought on hairstyles for a rodian waitress?

Okay... I'm totally stumped. Obviously, I was going with a pale-green skin tone, brown/leather for the wrist and ankle bands, and red for the one piece.

I'm just not feeling it. I think she's got a great pose for a static figure with limited articulation, but I'm just not sure how to bring it together. I can't decide how to handle her hair either... I'd like something drastically different than the normal head spines, like the rodian dance in jabba's palace, but I'm not sure what.

Any thoughts on how to pull this project together?

Man, I think that looks amazing so far. It's definitely right on track to be a very striking custom.

As for the hair... I agree, I wouldn't go with the long yellow hair stripe either...

I think you could get away with a female not having hair... unless I'm mistaken, the Rodian on the right here is a female -

Maybe add a necklace of some type to what you have?

I seem to recall you also being great at sculpting, so maybe even some sort of hat?

Whatever you decide on doing, I'm looking forward to the end result. :)

You could put her hair in a pony tail, if your looking for an alternative to red try blue (cobalt blue - reason I suggest that color blue is I like it), or even do up the costume in brown or black leather.

Otherwise nice custom, and cant wait to see her finished.

Sometimes a custom just doesn't come out right at all...

From the paint to the photography, I feel like this one was fighting me the whole way... and I think it won, not me. But here she is. I'm gonna stop myself from pointing out everything I see wrong with her.

What I like:
Her hair, I took chewie's suggestion and tried to sculpt some hair for her, and I really like how it came out.

I think her pose holding the tray with drinks looks good, and I like my improvised bottle, tray and shot glasses from random gundam bits.

Though I wasn't very happy with any of the shots I got, I just noticed the way the droid head on the table seems to be oogling her, and that amuses me.

The back drop, like the figure, feels like another failed experiment. The idea was for it to be a sort of general store in the underbelly of a space station, someplace dirty and overlooked. The type of place that sells blasters, black market droids, and booze.

Beeina dreams of a much more glamorous gig, I'm sure, and is just waiting for some outlaw to whisk her away from life as a waitress.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen a custom turn out that good that the customizer was that critical of their own work... quite often my stuff doesn't turn out nearly as good as I had hoped, but this is a custom to really be proud of I think. It's extremely creative, well painted, the hair looks great, etc. And the background looks great, I know I would like that as a room in one of my photonovels... great name for her too!

Since you're not happy with how this turned out, I think it goes to show just how good of a customizer you are - for a lot of us, this would be our best custom ever!

yeah i gotta say it's pretty darn good... and given the story you put with it i can feel the grittyness in the shot... i actually really like the background props..

better than i could have done i'm sure!

Thanks guys. There's always a gap between vision and execution for me, and this time it was just a really large gap. Thanks for all the compliments on her though!

Her arms and legs are from Jabba's Rodian Dancer, her head is the first POFT2 Greedo, and her body is a heavily carved down Aurra Sing.

Dan I hate to be the one that doesnt like this custom, I am usually the one that is rallying behind your customs, this one just doesnt seem to work.

The bits I like - The Color suit (glad you went with the blue I suggested) and Skin works, the Pink color of the Hair is cool and the tray is very creative.

The bits I dont like - The lippy and eyeshadow dont work in my opinion, the stance doesnt work (she looks as if she is doing the ministry of silly walks from monty python), and the hair itself dont work (it would have looked better with Aurra Sings hair piece).

Like I said I know this may sound harsh but, I am only trying to point out the flaws I see.
