The voting has now ended for Yakfinities #31 - and the winner is LADIES OF STAR WARS. Here's the tally of votes:

Ladies of Star Wars (anything female qualifies) 15 - 47%

Non Mandalorian Bounty Hunters (that means no Fetts) 1 - 3%

The Criminal Underworld (any sort of henchman working for Jabba, Black Sun, etc.) 2 - 6%

Shop Keepers (the custom must include either a small cart or stand to show their goods) 1- 3%

Lightside / Darkside (Create a character as they appear before and after their fall to the darkside; or before and after their redemption - does NOT have to be a Force user and can NOT be Darth Vader) 13 - 41%

Lightside/Darkside came in very close, so it will be an automatic category in the voting for Yakfinities #32.

Now is the time to start making those customs everyone - you have until 11:59 PM on Saturday, October 31! And remember the five rules for this:

Rule #1 - Your figure must be made for this contest... old figures may be shown for examples, but don't go into the "prize pool." And you are only entered into the pool if you create a new custom and show it in the dedicated thread before the deadline.

Rule #2 - You can make as many figures as you want, but will only be entered into the prize pool one time each month.

Rule #3 - You must stay on track. If a contest is to make a Bounty Hunter, you can't make Queen Amidala custom, etc.

Rule #4 - After the end of the monthly contest, a random winner will receive a prize chosen by the Yakface staff. It won't necessarily be the *best* custom that wins, it will be completely random. Yakface staff members can participate, but are not eligible to win a prize at any time.

Rule #5 - No custom is too good for this, and no custom is too bad. Have fun with it and enjoy seeing everyone's work and ideas! And feel free to share your thoughts even if you don't participate!

-shop keepers with a small cart or stand to show thier goods
-swoop/speeder bike and rider
-hutt crime lord, anythiing except for jabba or gardola
-spiecies specific, any sort of custom as long as we all do the same spieces ie. duros, aqualish, nemodian etc....

Certainly ladies is a great option, but how about a Yakfinities where we take an older figure, say... something that came out at least 5 years ago, and has a lame sculpt, and we create an upgraded version with other parts (something of course Hasbro hasnt got around to yet (ie: Barriss Offee))?

Ladies sounds great to me, will definitely get my vote again. Hope they win!

Ancient Jedi would 'clash' with the upcoming Ffurg Casting Call Tales of the Jedi, imho. Pbarny watched the Yakfinities closely as we looked for themes for CC #57. Plus, that was YF 20.

I like Jedistyle's idea for Speeders/Swoops and their riders as well.

Other suggestions:
- Scoundrels/swashbucklers a la Solo/Calrissian
- Marvel comics characters
- Trandoshan Mercenaries
- Characters with cybernetic parts/limbs

I think lightside/darkside would be fun!

The more I think about it, we could open it up so it just wasn't about force users, just using "Lightside/Darkside" as a title. It could even include double agents, as they appear in both their Imperial and Rebel guises. Or a younger/older version of a character.

I think there are a lot of possibilities that would fit the theme, it should just be a set of figures that shows some sort of visual progression of the character... kinda like seeing how much of a story we can tell just by the differences between the two figures.

I know that's a getting kind of complicated, but it's a really appealing idea to me. :)

I'm a big fan of the light side/dark side idea. The non-Mandalorian bounty hunters idea is also great. I'd like to see something from the criminal underbelly of the Star Wars universe, maybe some of Jabba's henchmen or some kind of mercenary.

I voted for the women of Star Wars. I got a few ideas for that category. The other category that sounds cool is shopkeepers.
