Hey _Dan_!

Nice addition to the contest.

We have similar ideas. Just finished my lightside (i.e. Star Forge Robes) Revan tonight and I am going to post dark and light side Revan tomorrow.

Nice work on your figures and great repaint work. Did you sculpt the masks or what did you use?

Great stuff!

Nice versions on Revan, I like the silk goods for the Dark Side look, would make for a nice upgrade if Hasbro gets around to bringing Revan back into the mix.

The light side version looks nice too! I copied and pasted it into my photo program so I could look at all the fine details more closely, and am very impressed. I would also like to know more about the face mask if you would like to share.

Well, this one was a bit of an experiment for me. I've never been too fond of clones and clone customs, but there have been some that I really like and the new season of Clone Wars (what I've seen of it) is starting to change my mind.

So here are two possible paths for a Clone to follow upon the issuing of Order 66. The one on the left, the Jedi Protector, chooses to defend the Order and turn his back on all his training and programming. The "Knightwatch" Clone embraces Palpatine's order and rises up through the ranks to be become a specialized Jedi Hunter.

While I really like the white/black pattern on the Protector, it was just such a pain to work with. I first stripped all the green off of Fixer, which was an effort in itself, and then went back to add the black detail. Every little smudge and mistake shows up on that white armor. It was a struggle, and it's not my best work, but he's done.

The Knightwatch clone, however, was much easier for the most part. Some part swapping, adding the eyepiece, and detailing the red was all there was to it. He might get some brothers to hang out with, but I don't think I'll be revisiting the Protector, unless I find some cheap all white Commandos to start with.

Jedi Protector - Rogue Clone
FIXER (REPUBLIC COMMANDO DELTA SQUAD) - Head, Torso, Arms
CLONE COMMANDER (Battle Gear!) - Legs
CLONE TROOPER (Rocket-Firing Launcher!)- Hands

Knightwatch - Clone Commando
OMEGA SQUAD (REPUBLIC ELITE FORCES Mandalorians & Omega Squad) - Head, Torso, Arms
ARC TROOPER (REPUBLIC ELITE FORCES Mandalorians & Clone Troopers) - Legs, Eyepiece

As so often, you continue to amaze Dan. I really, really dig both of these a lot, especially the Jedi protector version (that repainting had to be a nightmare, but you pulled it off very well in my opinion).

Very nice work once again, and the GIJoe weapons seem a perfect fit for Commandos.

Yep! I agree, those Clone figures look fantastic. Very detailed painting and nice accessories. And both Clones are super-articulated.
That is how I like Star Wars figures.

Absolutely great work, Dan. You really keep surprising/amazing us :D

Okay, here is my last entry for this round of YAKfinities:

DarkSideLightSideRevan.jpg

Recipes:

Dark Side Revan
Whole figure: TAC "Darth Revan"

Actually nothing else than a simple repaint of a great figure from Hasbro.
I am quite happy how the mask turned out to look like after the paint job.

Light Side Revan
Whole figure: TAC "Darth Revan"
Hood: TLC "Emperor Palpatine"
Robe: POTJ "Tessek"

Reason why I did not use the hooded robe from Revan was that I had none spare :(
Luckily, I had another Tessek robe in my fodder collection, so I used that.
Again, nothing special with that figure. Simply repainted it to make it look like the Star Forge robes.

So this is my first time posting my customs. And I was finally able to finish two for this challenge. I'm really pleased with them.

Up first, lightside jedi Carrs Gorson. I was kind of inspired by assassin's creed. And used the lightside starkiller figure as the base. wrestler chris jericho head.

next up, is Carrs was gravely injured during order 66, leaving him blind and disfigured on one side of his face. Unable to cope with the betrayal, Carrs turns to the darkside to see revenge on those who betrayed him. Darkside starkiller as the base.

So there we have it, my first customs. Enjoy.

I painted two clone troopers before I did those two figures. So really they are only my 3rd and 4th. But a new colour scheme on a clone isn't much. But they are for sure my first ones posted. I paint miniatures for my husband, so to helps for painting fine details on figures. At least so far it has. :)

Thank you for the kind comments. As soon as time permits I'll put my clones up in a thread in creations.

Its always nice to get some fresh blood into the customizing challenges - the Yakfinities are so diverse - we seem to have at least one new person in each round. I really like what you did with the Jedi - mixing white and blue for the garments isnt something I have ever seen on a Jedi custom - but it turned out great.

Great customs from everybody. I didn't have time to participate this time, but hopefully the next one.

Well, here's my entry for the last YF of 2009. I saw this awesome computer graphic of a character called Darth Necros by DeviantArtist RedHeretic and figured I could do something with that concept.

I took quite a few liberties, but I'm quite pleased with how my rendition of this pretty wicked design turned out. The mechanical arm might seem too long, but personally I think that's a pretty cool side effect.

The light side Yoda isn't to my liking very much, but I missed out on a VOTC Yoda on eBay, so I had to cut some big corners here. Apologies for that  I hope to find a cheap VOTC Yoda someday though, to revisit this one.

Thanks to Dan for the POTF2 Yoda head!
