Yakfinities # 42 - Mirrored Reflections

I hope this is okay to post here. The mirrored reflections idea really sparked my imagination, however, I just don't have the means to create customs (No tools, not enough figures etc.) So I decided to draw what I would have liked to have done. If anyone wants to take this concept for their own customs please do. Also, if I am not supposed to post this here I apologize and please delete my post.

Prince Luke Organa of Alderaan and Leia Skywalker: Moisture Farmer

Pencils (Unfortunately I had to draw it with a mouse and couldn't spend much time.)

Also, the computer I am drawing on has a widescreen monitor but my current card doesn't support widescreen resolutions so everything that looks normal to you, looks fat to me. Anything that looks normal to me looks skinny to you. So I had to guess how much to stretch the picture for it to be "normal". If they look smushed or skinny I'm sorry!

Very well done on the sketches PlasticBountyHunter - in fact, I've got a Prince Luke and Farmer Leia set of customs in the works that I may or may not complete in time (I had first toyed with the idea of a Slave Luke and Jedi Leia, but gave up on that).

However, I have struggled to find the right parts (was going to use a Cammie body, but I can't seem to locate the one extra one that I have). I love what you did here as a concept, very awesome! And I personally like the idea of expanding Yakfinities to include concept art (BTW, neither pic looks smushed or skinny - they look fantastic!).

As for the R2-D2 head, all that is from is an Embo hat, glued onto a piece from an FX-7 droid. I added a belt wrap from a Prince of Persia figure to it too. My thought is that it's a helmet, and the character is a dwarf or something. I almost made the helmet removable with a head underneath (and maybe should have) but eventually gave up on that too. The helmet was just the result of going through my fodder bins for a couple hours before I found something I was happy with.

Here is a recipe on that figure:

helmet - CW Embo shield/POTJ FX-7 part
neckwrap - Prince of Persia belt
torso - TVC Darth Sidious
arms - Legacy Jawa
legs - Legacy Zuckuss
feet - TAC Ak Rev

I'm actually more happy with the Kala Mly Shundi customs though. I'm really starting to make some headway on figures for my next Rykrof Enloe photonovel series. I'm close to starting diorama construction now (finally!).

Man, that Luke/Leia switch up is AMAZING. Wonderfully drawn.

I agree with Chewie, seems like Cammie would be a good start for Leia. Maybe a ROTS Bail or Captain Antilles for Luke, with some additions?

I agree awesome drawings plasticbounty.. that is a great concept and would love to see something like that down the line from someone. I have a figure on the works that can be used as a princes Luke, but I am leanning toward a mandalorian princess.. :D
Do you have any other art work to share? I would love to see more..

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I have some other mirrored refelections ideas that go along with them that I may draw tonight. It's just such a neat idea.

Wow folks! Customs are AMAZING!!! Great work so far. I like the medieval twist, I LOVE the role reversal idea. I may attempt one, if I'm not beat to the punch ( a bit busy with the holidays coming).

On a side not, which C-3PO figure is that? It looks like Ewok 3PO, but not quite as metalic. Thanks!

Hope you can get an entry or two in, there's still a month left! But yeah, Christmas time is hectic!

As for the 3PO, that's a custom too actually. I don't know exactly what parts were used - it's one of the few customs that I've purchased. I saw it on ebay and had to get it. It cost me around $20.00, which I thought was a steal considering how much better it looks than the Hasbro releases.

Here is my entry... Meet Darth Tiin.. More powerful and intimidating then when he was in the jedi council. :)

He fits right in with the idea that was put out there by Chewie.. See more pics of him in my custom thread..

I want to give that custom some more attention... I can't believe just how great your painting skills have gotten over the past year. It's astonishing!

thanks for the kind words Chewie.. I owe it all to the great customizers from the forum including your self. You guys have really inspired me to improve on my work and paint skills... :D I just wish I can paint faster. I usually takes me about 5 days to finish a piece. That includes priming, base coat and detail working 2-4 hours a night..

Yeah, these things are certainly time consuming.

That's part of why it's so hard to ever try and do commissions... it's hard enough finding time for my own customs, but to make them and sell some too? Very tough... then it's hard to try and price anything too and be fair to yourself and the buyer. I can see why so many people just go the ebay route when they sell custom stuff.

Some great entries in this round.

Darth Sidious – Great work from your nephew, I am sure we will be seeing more from him in the years to come. And that Mon Mothma still gives me the creeps.

Rune Haako – the quad lightsabers on your Qymaen jai sheelal is a cool idea.

Darthcrassus – nice work on the dark Bastila, that’s still one of my favorite games. And the Bith sith is a great idea.

Tonphanan – That pirate Vader is to cool.

Drod26 – I was working on a dark Tiin, but yours is just amazing. Awesome paint job.

Yak Chewie – I love the medieval customs, especially the Fett. I have a dark yoda in the works too.

Here is my first entry: Darth Mindu. Just a simple repaint but I thought I would be a fun mirror image. I have a couple more dark jedi in the works.

Had to get in on this one.

First is Jedi Master Palpatine. In a different universe Claudus Palpatine was found by the Jedi and became a great Jedi Master.

Second is Dark lord of the Sith, Darth Maul. When Obi Wan leapt up Maul kept his wits and cut the Jedi in two. As he returned to Coruscant he encountered young Anakin in his fighter and destroyed him. Upon his return, he happened upon Dooku and Sidious discussing how to dispose of him. In a rage he was able to slaughter both Sidious and Dooku. From there he began his war on the Jedi......

Hey all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Here is my entry. It is Count Dooku as a Gungan and as a Jedi. So Count Dooku as a Gungan Jedi Master simply named Dooku. All the entries so far are really cool.
