Yakfinities #48 - Clone Wars Characters

Some custom clone wars animated figures that would be great to see made would be Captain Typhus, the naboo security officer, using the body of the anakin naboo pilot figure and a clone head tweaked to incorporate his eye patch and hair would be great;
Dr Nuvo Vendi would be a gray villain to have since we don't have many main character "bad guys" besides droids and also from the same story arc having the female gungan Peppi Bau would be a great project for sum more experienced customizers.

Kit fistos droid from lair of grievous would be an easy repaint, so would ARC trooper Fives and Echo. Also some starship officer clones would be easy enough to just swap some heads onto Yularens body, also some easy clone pilot repaint a to make shadow squadron pilots Broadside etc and Ahsokas Blue squadron pilots. I will be submitting my own customs shortly but those are some ideas I haven't heard anyone propose as yet, so the challenge has been made, lets see some customizer experts step up and show us what you can do-

Thank you, indeed I plan on trying my hand on a few of the aforementioned characters, I've never attempted a custom figure before but I have some modeling experience from my warhammer40k days. It made me kind of sad when hasbro announced the end of the clone wars line, to go from 27,50,64 figures in the first three lines then drop to 18 and less than 10 not even available in the US is a shame. It was by far the best line of Star Wars figures made to date imo and gave us some great characters otherwise never made. The fact that they could have made another 50 figures just with repaints alone shows how short sighted the people running that company really are. I was really looking forward to a Satine figure, a Kenobi in mando armor and especially Pong Krell. Maybe some day another toy manufacturer will pick up where they left off and give us the 100's of characters that collectors such as ourselves would clamor for.

PS if any readers know of or come across an AFA uncirculated 1st edition CW clone wars magnaguard from 2008 please drop me a line, it's the only missing link from my 1st edition AFA cw collection and I've been looking for it for years now.

PPS congrats to all the customs submitted so far, all are wonderful specimens and show the devotion to this line is alive and surely will not fade easily

The fifth season episode of The Clone Wars entitled "Missing In Action" featured a cameo appearance from an Aqualish dressed in the same colours as Kenner's infamous Walrus Man action figure from the late '70s.

Hey everyone been doing a lot of customs lately.... i have had a lot of free time because i changed my job title to full time toy sculptor :? Yeah that means what you think but on the light side it is a double edged sword and i do have loads of time to do new projects. Hey someone put in a good word to one of the toy companies i'm looking for work :wink:

If you follow my Facebook page Peakob1 Custom Creations, you would know that i'm working on The Parwin Derrown from the box episode but sometimes I like to take a break from one project and pull something out of left field. The GOTAL character below is a perfect example! I love all the background characters that Hasbro would most likely never shake a stick at. If your like me I treat the clone wars just like I treat the movies, I watch it as much as I can and want to make every single character into an action figure!

I must say I think the Gotal is fabulous! Love the sculpt. Also Cham Syndulla cam out really nice!

Yes!!! I was just thinking about how to do a Derrown figure after watching season 4 all day today. I can't wait to see how yours comes out. Great job on the Godal figure, hasbro couldn't have done a better job themselves. Now for Rako Hardeen and a Captain Ackbar animated style, hmmm where to begin, I too wish every character could be had in plastic, I started collecting the clone wars line for that exact reason, the sheer scope of just how many characters are available and the diversity of what we have already made it a worthy challenge to try and put together a "complete" collection. Now if only we could get Disgrace-ney and Hasbeen-ro to change their minds about our beloved show some amazing toys could be spread among the masses. How cool would Ahsoka slave girl be? Or Anakin, Obi, and Rex in Zybranian slaver armor? Oh well, until dreams come true we'll just have to keep making our own... Keep up the excellent work everyone

I decided to make a character that Hasbro neglected in the CW animated line - Adi Gallia. I wanted a cartoon version of her for my Jedi Council, so I decided to make one. Softgoods clothing in this tiny scale was a bit of hassle, but I was able to come up with two layers of different fabric to make it look like a Jedi tunic. Here is how she turned out:

Absolutely fabulous Adi Gallia, excellent job on the soft goods tunic. I never understood the logic behind hasbro and their choices to make certain characters. Some Jedi that obviously would have been easy to make like master cin dralig. Yet characters like Gha nackht do get to production. They could have rode the clone wars wave for another couple of years doing 50 figures a calendar year with 25 being new/repaints and 25 being repacks but they lost so much $ on other projects one of their best lines gets the axe. Well ranting aside, lol, your master Gallia is the perfect example of how cost efficient to their modeling budget a figure could be, and one that every fan would want at least one of(female jedi in this line never seemed to stay on the shelf very long ie Luminara and Bariss were hard to find)- congrats on a terrific outcome, how did you do her head piece, do you have a pic from behind?

Thanks - I agree, a number of Jedi could have easily been made in the CW line with some retooling / repainting. Its beyond me why Hasbro didn't take the opportunity to reuse some of that existing tooling. As for Adi Gallia's head - I used both the Stass Allie head and the CW Padme head to make it. I sliced the headdress off Stass, and the hair off Padme, so that it would fit like a hat, while keeping the head socket intact. I only took one picture, but the head pops on and off the neck peg.

Revisiting the second season Clone Wars episode "Deserter", here is Cut Lawquane, the clone deserter who married the Twi'lek Suu and adopted her two children, Shaeeah and Jek.

Nice Cut Lequane, the soft goods clothing is excellent, looks more like the real version clone wars figures that they did in TVC as opposed to an animated style probably because you used the darth maul body, splendid work. Keep up the good job

...and here's the Jedi.......

YES another CW Anakin, but this time the bandaged/ injured one from season 1 or 2 (i forget) w/ a somewhat realistic face. I had a spare CW anakin w/o head and some sort of mini bust, not sure from where, but it was same size as a 3.75" figure's head. The shirt was doctored since i had cut it apart. Found the front pice and added a trimmed Rev Balor skirt for the back. Originally the anakin was planned for another custom but it didnt work as well as i had thought so I had to repaint it back to Anakin's colors as close as I could. Looking at the posted pic, the left arm could be painted darker shade, looks a bit close to flesh and the two greys look almost the same in pic, must been the flash, because the shoulder armor should be abit more metallic. And YES i think I finally found a decent flesh tone paint (had to redo repaint the neck). But overall, I am happy w/ this one despite it's Anakin

BTW...bandages are simply white duck tape, helps hold the skirt on as well
