Here's a new custom from my 10 year old that he asked me to enter:

Wow, that's one talented 10-year-old!

It's been cool to watch him improve as an artist. He's been customizing for almost 4 years now. He started his Star Wars custom action figure blog when he was 6 and he's just as passionate about it now as he ever was. We have two new Cantina alien figures that we completed last weekend that I still have to post. We each did one and his figure looks just as good as mine. I really enforced the quality control from day one because parts aren't cheap. I held him to the same standards I would an adult. He hated me for it at first, but he now admits that he's thankful that I was so strict about it. Hopefully I will get them posted up by tomorrow. I already took the photos and edited them, he just has to do the blog post.

FInished this Vintage Style Greedo for this yakfinities recently. Finally got a chance to get him posted here. I used a body that I feel better matched his onscreen appearance than the original released figure while still keeping to the old school Kenner style. Kenner was not super concerned with dead on likenesses back in the day.

This was a really quick custom action figure I made while my little guy worked on a custom Tawss Khaa action figure. We got two head casts in the mail that were created by Star Wars customizer I-AM-BOBA-FETT that we used with some Imperial officer action figures to create the Nimbanel Cantina aliens. I'll probably post Elias' Tawss Khaa very soon, but here is the Mosep Binneed I made. I'm loving how much our Cantina diorama is growing this year. We added seven unreleased Cantina aliens to the collection since summer started. We may try to add a few more throughout 2014."

I'm finally finished with my entry.
Since I love Jabba's palace, background characters and improvising I chose Cane Adiss
The heads are original sculpts in 3.75 inch scale.

Great job on Cane Adiss, looks spot on! Also mousedroidhoojib's last Imperial is very impressive. Although I'm not a big fan of dressing figures totally in soft goods, this one looks quite natural.
So here are two entries from me, maybe I'll have some more tomorrow, if I have the time to finish them.
First is Han in Hoth gear - it's a mix between the Battle Pack Han for the ball jointed hips and the belt, and some older one for the rest of the body. The lower portion of the jacket is real leather. He can sit perfectly well :)

Second is Hoth Luke - I got rid of the scarf&goggles thing and made my own from yellow plastic bottle and AVES Fixit. The new scarf is leather and is flexible. The lightsaber handle is on a small hook and I narrowed his shoulders a bit. I also modified the reins and the stirrup of the tauntaun and they are leather now (easier to position the figure). Had to sculpt one of the stirrups, my tauntaun came from Hong Kong with some missing parts. And repainted the beast with some dark wash and some drybrushed white on the fur. I know it's Han's tauntaun but I only have that one for now :)

One more from me - a Bespin Han fix. Repainted his face a bit, gave him Dengar's blaster (had to dremel the holster a bit), exchanged his left hand with Rebel Fleet Trooper (for "the Ford finger" :)) and gave him a leather strap for the holster.

I hope this is not too late. I didn't have time to make a custom as I have never done it before but I did know what I wanted to do. So instead I have used Photoshop and told you which parts I would have used. Hope you like them the first is a new character who hasn't even appeared yet! It is the Imperial Inquisitor. From reports I don't think we are getting a super articulated figure line for Rebels so we may never see this (I feel that Hasbro would be wasting an opportunity though). The second figure would have been a leader of a clan devoted to General Grievous. This is a character I created after I put them both on the corner of one of my many DVD boxes. The character will be used in a novel I'm writing the currently has no name but will be my end to the clone wars. It will feature Ahsoka and Darth Vader and they will meet. I will share the book once it is done but this will be a character in it or another book. I hope it's not too rookie! for you guys as the other entries look amazing! especially the trooper in front of the guide to warfare.(hope you win pal) View attachment 1View attachment 1
If anyone wants to make the Inquisitor do so (after the contest though) and share the results with us and me!

I can't believe the day after I do this Hasbro releases images of the figure! check the news!

I promised more images.

Up until now, Cane Adiss has always been pretty much a disembodied dweller in the shadows in Jabba's Palace. Well here's the full Monty.

So here's his features:
The body was built on MU's Juggernaut as a base. I literally chopped him to pieces and build up the Cane Adiss body with 2 component plastic repair.
When I was satisfied with the shape, and after attaching the limbs, I smeared a thin layer of Aves Fixit Sculpt over small sections and imprinted leathery hide texture with templates I had made from the Dewback and the Reek. The tail was sculpted and imprinted with the hide templates using yellow silicon molding material to maintain shape and flexibility.

He has 27 points of articulation in the body alone, excluding the necks, hands and tail. I count double-ended swivels on ball joints as 2 POAs.
HEADS: Original sculpts. Did you see the tongue?
Heads/Necks Joints: double-ended ball joints made from MU's Collossus' shoulders.
NECKS 180 degree flection in any direction. It's not done with wire, but the mechanism bends through the whole length of the neck. secret :?:
FORE ARMS Made from GI Joe MARS Trooper legs.
Shoulder: ball jointed. I replaced the metal GI Joe metal hip peg with a The Corp shoulder ball joint.
forearms: improvised swivel joint with a small nail head.
elbows: double hinge joint.
wrists: ball joint.
FORE LEG
shoulder: swivel shoulder joint from MU Thor movie's Destroyer.
elbow: ball joint. Also the Destroyer's elbow.
ankle: Swivel joint from The Corp soldier's knee.
WAIST: Double ball jointed waist from MU Juggernaut. (adapted to increase range of motion)
REAR LEGS All from MU's Juggy with the swivel joints removed to shorten the legs by about 1/2 inch total.
Hips: ball pegs
Knees: double hinged knees.
Ankles: ball joints.

HANDS: 14 points of wire articulation in each. Original sculpts.
TAIL: Original sculpts. About 30 degrees of flection in the tail, with the same mechanism as the necks with poorer range of motion. The silicon material is a lot stiffer than I anticipated.

Blue glass eyes taken from pin heads.
Teeth made from metal pin points. Funny how that works.
Human hair (Thank you, Geekette, my daughter)
The gun is left over from a POTF figure. I sculpted an extension on the handle to fit Cane better.
The harness is from TFU Rancor, cut up and heavily tweaked. I sculpted the buckle and holster.
The gauntlet is molded from the forearm of a 6 inch Halo Spartan.
The pouch under his chest is molded from one on the Dewback's saddle.

Excuse the bright amber color. I think it's from the flash of my camera changing the tint. The last photograph is without a flash and gives a truer color.

Well, this may just be the most impressive custom I've seen in a long time! It's THE meaning of customizing to me - it has everything. Sculpting, articulation, flexible parts, incredible paint job, real hair... let the others go on, but to me that's the clear winner. I find it a little pointless to post after that, but still... :) Congratulations for the splendid job!

So many amazing customs for this Yakfinities! I love seeing all these great OT characters getting some love. I have not been around these parts in a while but really wanted to contribute in this, the 50th Yakfinities.

First up is one of the Gonk droids I cast and repainted. The vintage Gonk with modern sculpt.

Next up is the only Rockabilly in the Star Wars Universe, Bo Sheck. Featuring full articulation and soft goods pilot harness.

Here is a repaint of Col. Cracken to better match the reference image of the character.

Last but not least is something I never thought I would do. A full repaint of the new 6 inch Greedo. Eating my words as we speak!

Sjefke: Evilivo beat me to it! This has got to be one of the most impressive customized specimens I have EVER seen. Hands-down, this looks like it was a labor of love and the results show. Absolutely phenomenal parts use, sculpting, and paint applications. I would love to own one of these if it was retail-available! Most impressive!

Spry: I love the BoShek! Was just talking about how it would be nice to get a SA-upgrade to this character sometime in the near future. The SG harness looks surprisingly good; it's hard to find materials that won't look like Hasbro's cheap attempts on some figures. You've made this work quite well!

This BoShek rocks!
So here are my last entries - when the Yakfinities was announced, I had so many ideas, however real life spoke it's word and I managed to do mostly upgrades and nothing radical...
First up my old dream to have a proper Jabba came true this year when I got the last version of him. Hasbro's paint was awful and I didn't like how the tail didn't bend well. So Iput a new wire inside for proper bending, then filled the body with soft stuff so it doesn't feel rubbery when bended. Then I repainted him totally, and Salacious Crumb, too. And the cushions are washed with dark paint for this special grimy look. Oola is in the process of getting new, hand-sewn costume, but it will happen next year. I would love to make real leather rug for the throne and to replace the cyclops heads with bigger, which I must sculpt. But so far - so good :)

Amanaman has been lying in a box without his right hand for years... I had to sculpt a new one and they both are glued permanently now, but after the dark wash treatment I like how it looks - almost blends in with the new figures (at least untill I manage to score the POTJ DeLuxe). The staff is entirely hand-sculpted by me.

The Emperor is made using the body of Order 66 Palpatine (the one with grey skin), but repainted. The robe is hand sewn. I sculpted a head with normal expression for him, but still don't have the courage to paint it (the eyes are what scares me :) )

P.S. Forgot to mention that customizer YakFace was the one who inspired me for the Jabba custom, his Jabba display totally rocks!

Thank you
He's was a labor of love. I've been planning him for a year and it took me 3 months to complete. I started about a week before I heard about this contest.

Thank you very much. There are so many talented customizers participating here, not the least of whom comes from Sofia, Bulgaria. I love what you've done for Jabba and Salacious. It's something I've been thinking of doing too. We have to compare notes on bendy parts. I also noticed you repainted the Leia base soft good part and used the Sailbarge cannon Leia for the top. For a statically posed Slave Leia, she may be arguably better than the Legacy version. I also love the sculpting on Amanaman's staff. The skulls are beautiful.
