Not gonna lie: those are some of the grittiest, coolest-looking pirate customs I've ever seen. That little goblin/Gran is creepy! I love the deep, rich paint colors you used. The pant colors for the hooded character and the Twi'ilek are fantastic: what did you use there?

Here's my entry. I hope it's ok that I went with a 6" female pirate.

Heres my first addition to the Yakfinities Compotition. The Old'Pirate Han Solo. "i guess he counts right?"
Anyway, he is a re-paint of the 6" Black Series Han Solo, and this was my first real attempt at painting a face and i think it's came out alright :), Here a few fun shots of him, also the last one shows my Re-painted Luke too..but he cant be classed as a space pirate lol

Hasbro - Mine Comparison Shot.

Sorry for the Pic Heavy Post :p, MTFBWY

Pretty sure this is the first Yakfinities I've ever gotten in on.

Tix Bonadan - Advose "master-at-arms" who is in charge of the gang's weapons, both personal and ship-mounted.
(simple head-swap of Bom Vimden's head onto a Rum Slegg)

Uday A'amman - Gran slicer
(head, hands, & feet from Mawhonnic, body from Col. Cracken)

(background and flooring from Frank Diorio's dioramaworkshop.com)

Thought I'd squeeze one in at the last minute. Just a gun for hire to the highest bidder. Simple custom of an Iron man 2 Ivan Vanko head and arms, body of a TVC Vizam, GI Joe Snake Eyes bandolier, and weapons from the fodder box. I wanted a pirate who would fit in the Star Wars universe or in a 90s action flick.

I came in at the wire, but I finished up the group that I was hoping to get done for this challenge.

Don't call them pirates! Meet the crew of "The Privateer." They're a ragtag group of smugglers that are primarily working for the rebel alliance, though they take on odd jobs here and there...

First up, the leader of the crew. Mai Horkliss grew up the only child of a wealthy core family. Her father owned a small shipyard. Once he began manufacturing ships for the Empire, Mai saw her chance to leave her family and the core behind. Stealing a ship with the help of one of the shipyard employees and her trusty protocol droid, she set off to make a place for herself among the stars... (a bit of a lazy no-paint custom. I need to find a paint for her arms that will match the skin tone of her head, but I've been unable to find one that works so far...)

An employee of Horkliss shipyards for ten standard years, Lom Brunton had dreamed of one day flying one of the ships that he spent his life toiling over. Striking up a friendship with Mai, he was surprised to hear of her plan to steal one of her father's ships, but was absolutely willing to tag along on her adventure once he found out that the ships he was building would soon be making their way into the hands of the empire. Mai has been teaching him to fly and he has become a capable copilot. (Head from a Thor figure, Body from the Winter Soldier from the Captain America line + various accessories from TVC skiff guards.)

Mai's protocol droid c3-n4 had been programmed to do anything that she asked him to do and to keep her company at all times. Though he still protests and seemingly constantly asks her to return home, he stays with her through the best of times as well as the worst (one of the latter being the reason his arm was hastily repaired with an RA series droid limb). (Just a simple combo of BAD parts with an Indiana Jones satchel to add some personality...)

Every crew needs a good mechanic to keep their ship purring in the worst of times. Trent Nur ended up joining the crew when they touched down on Nar Shadaa to pick up some cargo for a local Hutt lord. Nur was on the wrong end of the Hutts and needed to get out. The Privateer was in need of some serious love after a nasty run in just outside of the Corporate Sector. It was a match made in heaven. (A pretty basic custom, but I like how he came together other than the cat hair stuck to his boot that I just noticed in all of the photos - ugh)

The Privateer's rebel liaison, Fi'ick Faf (named by my 3 year old daughter) stays with the ship's crew for any sensitive missions they're running for the alliance. Sometimes she ends up tagging along for the odd jobs as well if she feels the need for excitement (and truth be told, she's growing fond of the ragtag group...) (I'm not happy with the application of the violet paint, but I think she came out alright otherwise - head from Lucas' daughter in the family set, torso from Aayla, Legs from a POTC figure.)

Last but not least, the Gungan hired gun Gan Flex. A mercenary working on the outer rim, he was hired by the group for a particularly nasty job in the Corellian sector. Oddly enough, he fit in with the group much better than anyone would have liked so he stayed on in a permanent position - even tattooing a stylized Trasten Awk onto his arm - the symbol that Mai had painted onto the side of the Privateer the first time she landed after the theft. (Movie Heroes Jar Jar with Indiana Jones harness and Production Platform 3 cast scarf. I just felt like trying to make a BA Gungan and thought that the pirate crew would be a great place for him.)

OK. Hope you like the crew. So glad to get them done before the contest ended. It has been forever since I finished a custom, but was able to finish a bunch this past week with a few extra days off of work.

my kind of scum-Fantastic group of privateers. I too am curious about the walls and floor you have as the background. I am also curious about the towers. Are they supposed to be vaporators? Where did they come from?

Fritzkrieg Nice job on your pirate pair. Do you have a recipe for them? I recognize some of the parts but not all of them.

Wow guys, I love these latest entries.

my kind of scum - Talk about a great group of figures, awesome variety and all that. Mai Horkliss and the protocol droid are my favorites of the group, they look awesome. The satchel on the droid is a wonderful touch!! This is a very fun squad of pirates for sure, I feel like their deserve their own Dark Horse comics adaptation! Oh, and check out our front page too.

Fritzkrieg - It's always a pleasure to see your work, old friend. I've been a fan of your customs for what feels like forever now. I love the human pirate you made, what a fantastic mix of parts. It all comes together so well.

Thanks for the kind words (and the front page - I'm humbled)!

The walls are Gundam bases - http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-x-TT-MECHANIC ... 232c0e91b1 They're an affordable, modular system. Quite cool, in my opinion. I keep meaning to paint them, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

The towers are made of pieces from a model kit that I bought a long time ago. If I can remember what it was, I will post again - it was just full of industrial looking greeblies, so I had to have it for backgrounds.
