Dammit. I don't know how it happened, but somehow I made the deadline in the original post July 31, rather than June 30 as intended.

It's not fair for me to cut this off on June 30. So, we will accept entries through July 31. I apologize for the confusion.

Are we starting Yakfinities #53 on July 1st still or will it be pushed back?

WOW! Such great entries. I love the Courrier Droid. I started on him but decided to concentrate on my other THREE entries!
Mwaa Ha Ha Ha Ha.

First off is Laudica, the Correlian gun runner and marksman. She was the female leering down at poor Oola in the pit and standing behind Bousch during the thermal detonator scene.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Laudica

I started with Ysanne Isaard as the base figure. This was a no brainer, because of the red outfits. I hate the prep work for ball joints. I removed the skirt, and cut off the detail like the rank insignia and sleeves. The belt is from TCW Padme. For the face detail, I scraped the original paint off Isaard's face and did a repaint. Lastly, I added GreenStuff/Kneadite to her head to sculpt on the hair. The necklace is loose and made of string and aluminum foil. I couldn't see good detail in the reference image, so I used localgotal's concept image as a guide.

Next up is JESS

Jess is a Human female dancer in Jabba's palace, who apparently had a thing for Bib Fortuna.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jess

Jess required a little more work. Slave Leia' was the base figure. I lengthened her legs and shortened the waist peg. The actress who played Jess was obviously athletic, but did not have the tiny waist that slave Leia does, so I straightened her curves a bit.

I filed down Leia's gold bikini top, sanded the chest and laid thin copper wire from a telephone line and glued the outline of Jess' bronze top. I put down a layer of GreenStuff/Kneadite inside the borders of the wire, and after that had cured, I laid down more Greenstuff to add detail with an X-acto blade. A lot of the detail is improvised since the reference images are so grainy.

I made a pair of removable Arabian style pants for her with nitrile glove material using Loctite Flexible fabric glue. Finally, I took the head from Marvel Universe X-23 and scraped off her mask, before re painting the detail. I used GreenStuff, to sculpt the hair.

Last up is one we all may have missed, since his scene lasts only about one frame. Personally, I always thought he was a rock., but he did save Luke from the Rancor.

He is......

BIDLO KWERVE.

I didnt even know he had a name, but somebody made up a backstory about the skull that Luke threw at the Rancor door control. Anyway, I thought he was important enough to deserve recognition. He's more of an accessory, and of course he has zero point as of articulation, but he was fun to make.

Thanks guys.
Those pants took some practice. What you see here is Take #8. :x Originally, they fit like a glove (no pun intended), but they stretched out somehow. It really flattered her backside. I'm thinking I can try to apply this technique to cloaks and jackets.
Evilivo brought up a good point in a PM. I dont know how long the material will retain its elastic properties. It may eventually crack or the glue might let go.

So many wonderful customs this time around.

Nice job on those goons Chewie, my favorite would have to be the Ground Escort. Looks like he'd fit right in.

That Bib is fantastic. Don't understand why he didn't get a vintage collection update.

Absolutely love those Laudica and Jess customs. Makes me want to revisit mine and tweak them a bit. Excellent work.

I saw your J & L on Google images. I didnt know they were your's. You're the only other customizer I know who's tackled them. Nice job yourself. Limited grainy reference images make getting the details really hard. Did you find a good pic of Laudica's necklace somewhere or did you just use artistic license. I think your's may be closer to the mark.

Thanks. I took my own screen shots from the dvds for reference. The necklace I guessed on. I'll probably redo her head and repaint her boots at some point, and I really should redo jess's pants, which on my custom seem thrown together from scraps.

Try googling Revenge of the Ewok. FF to 9 min, 55 seconds in. Jess & Laudica are featured together for about 5 seconds. See if you can make out the detail better than I can.
