“Arctic alien” (ANH) this sketch was turned into a character for a C-3P0’s cereal commercial.

Many of the unused concept sketches were later used to create new characters and races for RPGs and CCGs. One such alien became Councilman Po Ruddle Lingshot of Cloud City.

Here he is studying “Alien 19” (ROTJ) which seems to be part diaonga.

Concept Alien: Jabba’s entourage (white uniform)
Elomin: Native to the planet Elom, they are logical and find humans to be agents of chaos. An easy custom of a Game of Thrones Whitewalker.
Time is short, but I will upload better photos if I can.

D’harhan was a Niordi that was turned into a weapon. He was the last of the project to survive. He became a bounty hunter.
Bluescale is an Ssi-ruu.

Jawa “Bantha” Binary Load Lifter. Jawas are known to cobble together questionable droids. Some people collect them as “art”.
Chalum, owner of the Mos Eisley CantinaTries to shoo them away.

RIP Carrie Fisher.
I wish I had the time to make this tonight but I sadly can't.
Made from the cloth Leia and cloth Luke 2 pack, Archie Goodwin's comic Leia. Repainted Leia with Luke's yellow jacket.

One of my favorite Dark Horse storylines was the battle of Jabiim, in particular the Padawan Pack. The one character that always stood out for me was Vaabesh, the Gand Jedi.

I used a Zuckuss head and hands on a Mace Windu body. The belt is from a Jango Fett, and the bandoleer is from the Vilmarh Grahrk figure. The legs and Jedi robe have been splashed with mud-like brown paint.

Man, I need to learn to take sharper pics. So, last minute here I am posting something near and dear to my heart. I love the book Tales from Jabba's Palace. Two of the three fellows here are from the book, Chef Porcellus, Phlegmin the kitchen boy and a made up character, a reprogrammed Magnagaurd. Still trying to come up with a catchy name for him...something kitcheny. Any suggestions? Well, custom figures is not my strong suit but these guys were important for me to make. There are two versions online for the Chef from various video games, I chose the one I have referenced here. The kitchen boy is from my own imagination. Hope you enjoy!

I've been really quiet for the last six weeks or so, sorry:( The entries have been wonderful, with too many to comment on. Brilliant job everyone.

This, my final custom of 2016, has been in concept phase for a very, very long time. I assembled the parts and developed the design more than two years ago. This contest was the impetus to finally put it all together. Without further adieu, Odan Urr:

The head sculpt is original. The body base is Elis Helrot. I sculpted the armor, gauntlets, elbow and ankle spikes. The light-saber handle is a strut from an old P-38 model. The soft goods are modified from a Senate Guard cape. The head-piece is the cod-piece from Geonosian. I think that's it.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!
Here is my finished Leia and my final submissions.
Codru-ji 4 armed aliens. They are born as Wyrwulves, 6 legged dogs.

RPG and Corporate Sector Denizens. When Han Solo first fled the Empire, he went to the remote Corporate Sector. There are many different species and robots there. The RPG games not only added more but also gave us the chance to make our own additions. Also in this pic is a creature from the Ewoks cartoon. I find it Daliesque.

I think the candy pop cans make good accessories. I left the stickers on some so you can find them if you like.

Here are some better pics of my previous submissions (with Alf for comparison!)

Utinniii -really nice job on the Codru-Ji and on the earlier Elomin. Your use of the Night King was perfect (I just ordered one to modify) and using the modern Cheetara as the base for a female Codru-Ji works amazingly well (I guess I have to hunt one of those down as well :D ). Great job on these.

Thanks! As soon as I saw the Night King I knew I wanted one to modify. I saw Cheetara in a thrift shop for a buck and felt that I could use her for something. When I was looking up alien races, I knew she was perfect for the Codru-ji. I may repaint her since I was rushed to finish her.
I'm looking forward to seeing your take on the alien races. I tried using glue to build up the ears and horns but that was a mistake. They pop off easily.

There are a lot of great entries this time. I like Odan Urr. I'mg guessing it is an Old Republic character. I don't really know that era but I like the design.

Huttman, I like your Chocolate Lavacake guard (Magma = lava), and the other 2. Doesn't the boy get killed and carried around by a Gamorrean Guard in the series?

Darth Nix is amazing! As is McScooby's trio.

Great job everyone else.

Thanks, Utinniii! Yeah, the boy does die and while that is sad, it's a quite humorous tale of a rather inept Gamorrean Guard who carries him around trying to solve all the deaths that are happening all about the Palace. Best case scenario is that I would love to do a photonovel of that book chapter by chapter but that is a huge undertaking when life's responsibilities takes much of your time. Perhaps someday... (Chocolate Lavacake Guard=Love it!)

I'd like to see more shots of that diorama. Is it actually a kitchen or did you make it one for the contest. I'd like to see a side profile of the characters as well.

Didn't get this posted here by the deadline, but I still wanted to share it here. A Wookiee zombie made from the Trash Compactor Chewbacca. I had to reposition the head, remake the face, do the chest, and added better hands. I'll add more detailed pictures later to my thread.

Utinniii - Odan Urr is a character from the Tales of the Jedi comics (something like 5000 years before Star Wars). BTW - I would use something like "Green Stuff" - an air drying sculpting compound - to build up things like horns (that's how I put the spikes on Odan Urr's elbows and ankles).

I though so based on the light sabre. I haven't read most of the EU not set after ANH.

Greenstuff is much better. I like trying new techniques so this time I built up things with paint, glue, sculpy, modelling compound and greenstuff.

Greenstuff was the clear winner. However, if I have the glue out for one thing, I tend to use it for something else.

Love the Zombie Wookie. Didn't like the books though. The death seed (or whatever it was called) is a great excuse to use up miscast heads.
