I don't customise myself, but I love seeing what you all come up with. And I would like to see some custom(ised) vehicles.

I didn't see Mini Rigs :( lol been a long day. In future maybe we could do Vehicles from movies never produced? might be an interesting concept to see what people can come up with

I went w/ medics/scientists....recently I been contemplation a few figs from the former marvel darth vader series inspired by the JTC cover variants featuring Cylo and Tulon. plus there are a few Clone Wars characters I'd like to attempt to continue a former yakfinities from a couple years back. I cant recall the mad scientist's name from the padme/jar jar biohazard/virus episode but he has been on my to-do list ever since the end of that yakfinites and I never got around to attempting his figure. Now w/ this contest, if this theme wins, i'll stop procrastinating and get on it

If vehicles wins, we can do that now. Concept art and EU are also great sources.

It's great to have the time, the energy and the desire to create again. Strange journey past few years. Just hoping that my skills are still there. Perhaps a scientist themed mini rig- hmmmmmmmm, that sound very imteresting

The vintage Kenner Mini-Rigs line featured a range of vehicles "just off screen" that were smaller scale, one (or two)-man versions of hardware used by Rebels and Imperials in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.
One of the surprising omissions was a scaled down version of the ubiquitous Star Destroyer, so I thought that I would put my own version together. Using the Kenner naming convention, I dub this Scout Star Destroyer SSD-9.

And in vintage catalogue style:

Recipe and turnaround can be found in my customs thread.

that star destroyer mini rig is one of the coolest creations i've ever seen anywhere! OMG its totally awesome. it's in perfect unison with the vintage KENNER mini rigs. it would look perfect with the mini shuttle (ISP-6??) Also the black color is perfect for a stealth-y mini rig. you have inspired me sir!!!!

Mousedroidhoojib, the mini-rig is very cool and very much like those from Kenner in the 80s! Nice concept and execution. I've started now on my first custom vehicles. Making a mini-rig type speeder, and then something larger for my Dark Bush Ewok Clan.

Here is my Guavian Death Gang Single Magna Fighter.
All 3 wings rotate for landing or flying/fighting. Speeder bike magnetically attaches to the bottom of cock-pit and can be released for in atmosphere worldly exploration!

That looks pretty cool. It reminds me of a (nicer) "Ugly" from the old EU.
I like that is also has the speeder.

I've narrowed my choices down to 10, 3-5 I hope to actually finish.

I've almost finished my R1 diorama so I can get back to making the R1 Tank.

Wow there are a lot of cool design elements going on in that rig. The addition of the TIE wings on the Utapau fighter is actually really cool looking and unique. The magnetized speeder- now THAT is a cool idea. Good execution overall but I would love to see it all painted to "TIE" it all together.... Can't resist the easy pun. Are there any plans to paint this. How did you secure the wings to the vehicle????? Also kudos for making it a Guavian death gang vehicle- I love those guys!

Thanks guys! I did consider paint, but the deal is some of my stuff comes back apart after the pictures. I couldn't justify permanently paint modifying a First Order Tie, Tie Interceptor and Utapua Fighter. I have taken photos and then 'painted' vehicles in Photoshop for Yakfinities challenges in the past. It took a fair amount of 'artistic desire' just to put small drill and screw holes into all three of these ships... to create something new!
With that said, I'm with you on the paint job!

This is super-cool, MCScoobyT! I agree that some paint to make the parts more uniform would be a plus, it looks great as is! The small child playing with it reminded me of the old Kenner packaging.

Ok- my mini rig supplies have arrived and are in order. Some very cool images on this thread so far. The tank tread image is intriguing. Hoping that tonight it begins! Well actually my kids have football and hockey practices so......
