There have been some pretty cool entries so far! I have been pretty busy as of late and haven't had the chance to really dive into some of the stuff I wanted to make. Anyway, I had some free time this week and decided it would probably be best to start off with something small, so I took a crack at my very first custom vehicle/mini rig. It is a 1 man Scout Recon Speeder or SRS-1. Hope you enjoy!

That speeder is awesome and is one of the most believable type mini rig entered so far. Very nice work on it and I love the trooper... is it a Shipwreck body? What is the helmet exactly? Looks to be modified some?

Thanks for the kind words everybody!

Chewie: Yes, that is a Shipwreck figure. I sculpted the helmet except for the visor, which I cut from real thin plastic and glued in place before sculpting the helmet.

Also, I found that Shipwreck figure at Dollar General last week when I ran in to pick up some paper plates. They had the green version, the blue/gray version, and the blue/black Snake Eyes. The best part is that they were only $3 a piece, so I grabbed all 3! Anybody wanting some cheap Joes or some figures for customs might want to check their local Dollar General stores and see if any of these guys are still hanging around!

Also, the speeder was made from 1/4" thick sheets of plastic that I "laminated" together to get the thickness I wanted. I then sketched out the base shape of the speeder and cut it out. The larger (front half) pieces on the sides were made out of the arms of some broken generic transformer of my son's. The curved side pieces on the back half were some random parts from a broken snowmobile toy, also belonging to my son lol. The seat was cut and shaped from foam and the handlebars are Lego in origin. The silver "ion cannon" on the front is the inner portion of an agricultural sprayer tip. I tell you what, this was one odd and ugly looking "contraption" before a coat of primer and a couple coats of green paint lol.

Ok, I'm new to this, but I tried to attach the pictures, so I hope it worked.
Anyway, it's some random airspeeder I made out of cardboard, a tie advanced prototype small model, and some battle droid blasters

Thanks yak_chewie
Here's another one I just made. It's a resistance scout speeder.
I used a couple of the tfa build a weapon parts to make it.

Q: What do you get when you attach Pod racing engines to a speeder?

A: A long smear in the desert.

So what happens when slightly smaller engines are used? We'll soon find out.

I just finished this speeder using the Montoy Tank head.
I included samples of the 2 drink containers I used for the engines.

Before Anakin Skywalker built his pod racer, he built a desert skiff out of spare parts he found at Watto's. He zipped around the Tatoonie desert for fun.

Literally scratched built: the vanes are from Ezra's speeder but turned upside down. The seat is from the base plate/shield from the TFA Ezra figure. The engine is from the first series CW Obi Wan jetpack. The 'generator' is the fat part cut from TFA Sacro Plank's gun. The lever to power the generator is from Ezra's speeder, and the control handle is just a loose piece I found. The 'power cable' is from my dearly departed dish washer.

Gave the entire vehicle a dirty/rusty used look.

Here's a vehicle I made for a custom figure I made this morning. It's made of cardboard and parts of a phone and a camera me and my friend took apart yesterday

Hi. This is my first post. I am fighting to upload pics, so apologies if you see dead links.

My first "mini rig" is a Coruscant Limo. Just some thrown-together found objects used to fill my Coruscant skies.

It is made from an old TPM game shaped like the Naboo starship.

Upside down, the game's shell always looked like a limo front or the animated Batmobile grill.

P9172189.JPGHere is a repainted (by my friend) scooter from Titan AE. Looked about right for an Ithorian, IMO.

Nothing too spectacular, but it has about the right aesthetic, and squeezes into my diorama.

One more bit of Coruscant traffic that might be small enough to count as a mini rig.

It is just a generic airspeeder. I got jealous of all the different flavors of airspeeder on Clone Wars and Rebels, and wanted to put an old landspeeder to good use. Some upgraded engines; canopy, nee plastic Easter egg; and beef-up repulsors from deoderant containers, and the speeder is ready for CoCo town rush hour.
