Next up is the figure most inspired for the custom challenge and that is Korso. A member of Tobias Beckett's gang that raided Mimban inadvertently rescuing Han and Chewbacca from certain death.

Korso while not named can be seen in the movies and is discussed in greater length in the sticker book and the art of Solo book. Love the guy. Like all of Beckett's gang, we don't seem them long enough in this rip roaring adventure tale.

Korso is made from 1) the pirate head of a chap mei figure; 2) the power of the force dengar figure; 3) chap mei army figure arms--arms work but a work in progress; 4) jacket from a Wolverine sabretooth figure; 5) helmet from a death star trooper (there are three different helmets ever so slightly different in size for the this trooper); 6) the bandolier from a German 21st century extreme Battle of the Bulge figure; 7) legs from a power of the force Cantina three pack from a snaggletooth update. His mini gun is not present in the photograph.

Love the character and wanted to do a custom for this guy as he is most likely to not be made before I die.

Catlee, or usually, “the Weasel” seem to be just another homeless crazy person, doing tricks for some depraved individuals. He is actually the front-person for an illegal Beast Bloodsport Arena.
Patrons give him the code phrase, “Show us your Cockathrice” and he takes them to the secret entrance.

Based on the Character for the 70’s Catweasel TV show (and a true story).

Well, this will be it for me. I was hoping to get to two other figures on my to-do list, but that isn't going to happen. So for tonight:

Zennan Kar'datonio
KU0O0dR.jpg

Almost nobody would suspect that Zennan was anything other than a pretentious, vain, weak-minded small-time deathstick dealer, so typical of Balosars in the galaxy. That’s the way he wants it. Behind the façade, Zennan is actually the leader and coordinator of a vast network of slicers, burglars, smugglers, fences and financiers collectively called the Combine. Zennan happily provides the services of the Combine to anyone willing to pay his prices, and has, as a result, become something of a respected neutral party in discussions between the various criminal syndicates. He is known to the Empire simply as Centerpoint – a highly wanted criminal mastermind. He is occasionally seen in the company of one Gotal psychic called Madame Hunari.

Recipe:
Head = MiB3 Mr. Wu (repainted)
Body = Ask Aak
Boots = Snowtrooper (I think from TSC)
Lower arms and hands = Yavin ceremony Luke (30th Anniversary collection)

Tamtel Skreeg's mission. Or is that Lando Calrissian? In an effort to calm the tension between him and his rival, The Lady Valerian, Jabba sends his most smooth talking representative in his formal dress outfit to woo her to get her guard down...if possible. In route, Jabba's entourage meets up with Lady Valerian's guard/escort speeder and they are taken to the Lady herself...

Wow! There is so much here this theme to see and read. Many really great ideas and well-executed figures!

I did an overhaul on a VC IG-88. So many things both right and wrong with this release. I started by replacing the claws with the more accurate ones from the Mission Series IG-88. I did some minor body work and some more serious head modifications, plus some repainting, to closer resemble the movie puppet/prop. Better than when I started, I guess.

More really fun stuff folks! Excellent work so far.
I've got another entry for the criminal underworld, Madame Hunari:
fxt3mTx.jpg

Her mouth seems to be screaming.... MIKE WASOWSKIIIIIIII lol Love it!

Madame Hunari plies her trade as a psychic in the upper levels of the Uscru District of Galactic City, Coruscant. Many wealthy and powerful beings come to her small shop seeking guidance and comfort. What most don't know is that Hunari is really the head of a small but well-placed network of infochants - using their trade to gather the secrets of the rich, famous and influential. One of her most effective tools is to offer her "readings" to the servants of her clients in exchange for information, rather than credits. Hunari is well-known and has been connecting people with the spiritual world for longer than anyone can remember - which only adds to her reputation as a psychic. In truth, this Hunari is the fifth to don the mantle, as instead of retiring, the first "Hunari" created a costume for her daughter to continue in the role, creating the illusion of a single very, very old Gotal.

Recipe: Head - Trevagg Feltipern (repainted)
Body - Maz Kanata
Stole - Fur lining from a 5POA RangeTrooper
Plus part of a cheap bracelet for the horn jewelry

Agreed! This one was a lot of fun and it was cool to see so many groups.
I wouldn't complain if it was extended for another 3 months and we did droids in January.
It was also great to see more new faces.

It was a great round of customs. Like they say though "all good things must come to an end". I think Droids will be just as fun and challenging. Can't wait to see what's in store.

I hate that I’m doing a “blanket” good job to everyone’s submissions. I had planned to individually give comments but I got busy and i didn’t want to do a few and not all... apologies. The entries were awesome entries and I really enjoyed reading about their respective backgrounds. This was a cool theme and everyone’s imaginations were really working. Thanks for letting me enjoy your work!

I agree on all counts. While I’m disappointed Entertainers didn’t win (since I have a few ideas that would go towards a photonovel that I’m planning), I started coming up with ideas for droids (and some that would work for said P/N) and have already finished one custom. They are simple repaints but I have actually enjoyed creating their backgrounds. I am just looking at this as practice until I feel comfortable moving on to bigger ideas.

I also agree with you all. Many, many great customs! Lots of fresh, new ideas and new (fresh?) customizers this challenge. I am also hoping that Entertainers and Concepts are challenges that we'll do within the next year. I've customized some droids before (including my latest entry here) and have some parts, so I should get some new customs done.

Here is a better picture of my female Manadolorian that I named Iyauta. Perhaps better known as BoBetty.

Thanks for everyone's patience on the roundup report... I've been working insane hours at the office lately, and to top it off this is well over 100 custom submitted - gonna take me a bit longer than usual to get this all sorted through...

...and THANK YOU for those that provided group shots of your customs... that is a big help!
