UPDATED JANUARY 5

Yakfinities #75 has begun, and the topic is The Mandalorian

file.php

Anything inspired by the Disney+ series is fair game, but as always we ask that customs submitted be new customs made for this contest and not something you previously made.

Entries will be accepted through March 31 and the Roundup Report will take place sometime in April.

I vote we either do strictly mandalorians or on a broader spectrum a character seen in the Mandalorian. I already did IG11 and a couple offworld jawas, but there are a zillion characters and background aliens\droids that would make amazing figures.

Perhaps, SW 2019 media to include TROS and whatever that video game is called.
And entertainers.
I think I would prefer The Mandalorian/Mandalorians together. that way nobody is limited by what is in the official media. I am much beter at making characters from my imagination than I am at trying to replicate on-screen characters, and combining both the tv show and the culture as a theme allows for a lot more possibilities, at least in my opinion. SW 2019 media could be another option, but I would hope to have Mandalorians/The Mandalorian as a separate option as well.

This is just my opinion and I'm probably in the minority here but I think the problem with The Mandalorian/Mandalorians is lack of available resources. There won't be any figures for The Mandalorian until next spring. Yes, I realize part of the challenge and fun is to create characters with what's available but when there's not much to work with, it's kind of frustrating. I'm sure nobody wants to see multiple entries of IG-11, Offworld Jawas and Remnant Stormtroopers. Also, I don't think too many people are going to buy multiples of the AT-ST just to build a band of Raiders.

Same goes for Mandalorians. If your not lucky enough to have extras of Montross, Jaster Mereel, or the female Mandalorians from the Entertainment Earth pack, everyone will be a repainted Jango or Boba Fett which is kind of boring. That's why I think that categories with a wide range of options would be a better choice. This is just my opinion. With that being said here are a few ideas; some from previous suggestions, some new
Doctors/Medics
Spies/Intelligence Agents
Teams/Groups/Crew/Squads This would be a good option for someone who wants to make a Mandalorian Clan
Entertainers/Celebrities
Younglings/Pre-adult make your own Baby Yoda or teenage Wookiee

Again, just my opinion

There's lots of bounty hunters in the show, villagers, etc. too, just for ideas from the show. If that theme wins through the upcoming votes.

True, those are options if it wins the vote. I suppose droids can be an option too.

Yes, I think darthapathy brings up a good point. Not a lot of mandalorian figures to do customs from, so doing background characters in the show and droids would certainly be a better option. I still would love to see some customs from the show!

Droids, bounty hunters, imperials, civilians, mercenaries, Jawas...The Mandalorian category is nearly all encompassing for opportunities to shoe-horn in an idea for a figure.

Maybe we'll get lucky and get some sort of "character guide (official or unofficial) after the end of season one. That way it will be easier to make Villager #3 or Speeder Pilot

Here's another idea; Background Characters. We can go retro/pay homage to the old Kenner days where many characters didn't have an actually name (Walrus Man, Hammerhead, Pruneface). Instead of giving them a name, give a descriptive term like Ewok Warrior, Skiff Guard, Podracer Mechanic, etc. Then give a brief/vague backstory for them.

Call it "Post ROTJ" and it can include stuff from "The Mandalorian" or whatever else your heart dreams up!

Maybe we could do an "Open Season" theme or "Do What You Like" or "Customizers Anarchy"?
Basically no theme to adhere to, just make Mandos, Doctors, Priests, Entertainers, Thugs, Fugitives, Rebels, Droids, Imperials or whatever you are in the mood/have parts for...

I second that idea
