Here's a few ideas that I think could be fun....

Imperial deserters
Maybe broaden the category to Assassins and it could include both "organic" killers and droids.
How about "corrections/reboots/recasts"? Some fans didn't like the fact that Anakin was a boy in TPM. They thought he should have been older based on the accomplished pilot and cunning warrior line. Make the character as you thought they should've been.

Keeping with the idea of the Bad Batch how about something like Denizens of Ord Mantell, that could actually cover several eras.

The time frame immediately following ROTS (which would definitely include The Bad Batch if you wanted to go that route.)
New imperials, younger versions of familiar characters, scheming senators, newly-minted moffs, refugees, rogue clones, etc.
Anyone from, say, 18BBY to 13BBY.

I'd love to partake in yakfinities #81 and looking forward to whatever is decided. I'm voting for bad batch but any of these catagories would be interesting
