That's really nice of Chewie to ship a figure to Germany, as the US prices for shipping, both domestic and international, are getting out of hand. I sent a buddy of mine in the UK a couple of Retro figures as a gift, and the shipping was more than the figures themselves, lol.
Yea, it is getting expensive for sure. Even shipping domestic has gotten crazy. This year will probably cost close to $100 for shipping if all prizes were US based, if they were all international I'm looking at 2-3x that just for shipping. I may need to rethink this some. Sad because been doing this since 2006, and would hate to end the format. I do these out of pocket in the spirit of "By the fans, for the fans" and would like to keep that going.

I'll think of something...

Ugh, I'm sorry - I even paid an extra fee at the post office hoping that would be avoided for you.

If you would like, please email me at rykrofenloe@yahoo.com and perhaps I can send you some $$ to offset it.

🫤

No problem @YAK_Chewie but perhaps find a solution in the future. Maybe find YAK_Chewie's_Europe_friend, a sponsor in Europe or something else.

Today I had an idea - maybe prices like specific Yakfinities patches and/or stickers and/or
a single-sided glossy Yakfinities certificate with date and custom photo would be an alternative.
Then for worldwide shipping, a DIN A4 letter might be possible and much more manageable in terms of costs if you state that no "hardware" item is included.

Have a nice Weekend!

Appreciate the suggestions. I've been doing these since 2006... admittedly, 90% of the random winners have been US based, but I've mailed to Mexico, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, and South Africa and haven't had the issue previously, or if it was, I was not aware. These are meant to be simple fun and the prizes are purely a "gift" more than anything else and it bothers me that anyone had to pay a fee for it to be delivered.

If you private message me PayPal account info, I'll reimburse you for whatever the charge was. I had marked it as a "gift" valued at $5.00 USD so hopefully they didn't charge you for more than that.
